I’m surprised to see you most watched video has only 1000 views. In one way i like it that RUclips shows me small youtubers in my timeline but on the other hand I think your content deserves more views.
Chris, this is exactly what I've been going through recently. I just started making RUclips videos and took over 2 months to produce my first. The day after, I said forget it, let's do another TODAY. I'm gonna keep doing it this way.
Totally agree! And I love simple talking head videos, but that being said, a gimbal for your phone / camera would be a good shout because it’s quite hard to watch when the camera is shaking so much whilst you walk... I started feeling sea sick half way through 😅
Completely agree. And was just thinking about this exact thing. I procrastinate with buying gear and lament setting up the scene so then I don't do it. Time to just create roughly and consistently. Cheers, brother!
@@AtomicPixel you’re welcome brother - absolutely - there’s a time and place for fancy - but not when it’s getting in the way of the message. I’m in my walk and talk era 😅
This is a great video. I agree 100% with everything you have said. I’m the same as you. Keep upgrading gear to get better content then never use it cause the friction is too much. I recommend the Osmo pocket 3 to make videos very easily with zero friction. No need to even take out sd card to export to computer. Just transfer to phone wirelessly. 😂
100% my experience I have an a7siii and it’s so big to carry around it’s a studio only camera. Funnily enough - I just picked up one yesterday in Tokyo. When the gear gets in the way of the message - we need to switch it up. Appreciate the comment 🙏
@@itsmechrisbrown haha nice one man. Film in d log m. Quality is incredible. My next video was all filmed on the Osmo. Earned a sub man. Keep up the content.
Thanks Chris for this great video. You literally talked about my situation of the last months 🙂 I made some good moves but your video gives me the extra push to do what I already feel deep inside. Talk more about what is happening rather script and construct. Let’s make it the content season not the perfect content season! More real and raw! Let’s go 🙌
I loved this rant. I have not even begun to build my channel, it's all in the concept phase, and the level of friction has been driving me nuts....and I haven't even started! That being said, this was helpful to hear today, so thank you!
@@chariti-anneresearchfanatic I hear you, you have to start somewhere and it will never be as perfect as you’d like it to be. The videos you publish will never be the ones you want to publish - UNTIL you start publishing. You got this - let’s goooooo!

@@dionsheds thanks brother - yea you know we’re told to be productive and I just don’t think “art” is something that can be authentically scheduled. I tend to think of content as my art and I also believe our content is the purest form of “what is trying to move through me” It’s our transmission, our voice and I much prefer to use my voice when it feels inspired to say something. I also know that MUST create space for my voice to come through at least semi daily - but yea whilst we can all create content in batches - it’s never as pure as when you feel that hit and push record
@@itsmechrisbrown I totally agree with you on that, that's why I changed my upload schedule to just one's a week. Less pressure to batch and more emphasis placed on making the best video/art for just that week.
Inspiring! Yeah it’s about removing that friction and just increasing quantity- quality naturally improves out of it too.. totally agree Thanks for a glimpse of the Kyoto background! 😄
