The sad part of the old boss monsters was that you spend all of the time and resources to get them out only for them to die to the most common no cost monster killing spell cards.
Or just kaiju them if they are unaffected
@@quockhanhothan7837😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That me when I summons goddess of underworld on them.
“Okay, nice. You summoned your big boss monster. Now, do you have an out for Smashing Ground?”
@@BandannaBread picture you did all that work to summon your boss monster only get Kaiju on the next turn. 😂 😂😂😂😂😂
Alot of them are Anti-cost, there are extradeck monsters that use your opponants deck as a resource to remove their monsters from their field. its ridiculously unballanced.
“Dystopia is impossible to summon”
Kuriboh deck: pfffft
Same with Dustons one house Duston and the field is already set up
Possible with snake-eye, but why would you
Easier if you have Gagaga Magician and Five Star Twilight. Hell, I think Cyber Dragons could help as well just for that 1 spell card.
Mokey Mokey would like a word
Return of the normal 🥱
I love how he says Dystopia is impossible to summon, yet you can do it really easily in Kuriboh.
Or with treasure panda. Don’t forget the panda
Scapeghost
Dustons can do it really easily too. The monster just sucks though, sadly.
@@MaybeSableyescapeghost would have been good, but it specifically says you must send them to the graveyard, and tokens don't go to the grave, sadly...
@@TheFirstPotato Ohh, I didnt know that, Thought it was just tributes.
Raviel sounds the easiest.
And I could see Dystopia having synergy with Lyruselic monsters.
"Sacred beasts" have the "summoning beasts" too. Dark beckoning, dark summoning and summoning beasts. So they are the easier old boss to summon
I had to double back because I thought I had it wrong in my mind but no, it's just a typo for Lyrilusc.
Dystopia can be brought out easy in Drytron, too
I could play Dystopia in my Kurboh deck. Unfortunately it's not really a good card...
Hamon was used as tech in Crystal Beast funnily enough
Rocket Arrow Express was always meant to be a rank 10 train extender, not as an actual boss monster. It’s not very good, but it was also from Zexal era.
Special summons rae tributes it for great maju garzett 10k otb
I dunno why TCG/OCG Uria didn't gain 1000 defense for every trap card in the graveyard. I know Hyper blaze is supposed to rectify that, but that card didn't come out till almost a decade and a half after Uria premiered.
they should have just errata'd it on the card
@@matthiasekKonami errataing a card to make it better? Impossible.
I remember using Hamon with Crystal Beasts. Rocket Arrow would probably only be useful as material for T1 Trains.
That's how it was use on the anime… sorta
I remember using Uria with lightsworn because things we're slower and lightsworns we're dumping traps in the grave. Not to mention I didn't need Uria to be summoned if things went wrong
@@hinotoritheobliterator6556 I think it was the World Championship 2011 game for the DS
That's the same way I have been using Hamon to this day
hamon is practically a best crystal beasts boss monster than the actual boss monster
Back in the day, I actually had a goofy Uria trap monster deck that I have fond memories of playing with. It was all traps except for Uria and a few copies of cat of ill omens. Stuff like Embodiment of Apophis, gear golem the moving fortress and metal reflect slime. After the invention of XYZ's monsters, I actually turned it into an even goofier trap monster XYZ's spammer. Good times man.
Easiest way to run dystopia: kuriboh deck
Or just use a simple "Scapegoat" at the end of your opponent's turn. Sacrifice them on the next turn for a ez-pz summon, back in the day. 👌
I actually just finished making a Kuriboh deck. Maybe I should get a copy or two of Dystopia
@@DSmith3279 honestly wouldn't hurt to have a alt condition/boss monster
Or a duston deck
@@ariesforce1988doesn't work with tokens
"Dystopia the Despondent is literally impossible to summon."
Scapeghost: "Is that a challenge?!"
I’m actually thinking of maybe running a copy of Dystopia in my Snake eye deck since I’m already using Rekindling in the deck which revives multiple fire monsters and Flameberg Dragon can revive 2 level 1 fire monsters.
Yeah, I think I'm going to try that too.
they difficult to bring out. hence why back then 'special summon' were indeed special
Seriously at this point they need a new name for them. Like obnoxious summon that never ends
Back then, special summons were special. Nowadays, a special summon is a glorified normal summon with extra steps.
At this point, special summon is the normal summon since they are basically the norm, and the normal summon is the actual special summon since they are once per turn and is the one that is special
@@mikel5940 other than sp summon, what i lament about latest ygo mons card got at least 3 of these (and they dont have to be some archetype boss card):
-on hand effect
-self sumomning
-on summon effect
-immunity effect
-passive effect
-activated effect
-upon removal effect
-on gy effect
@@satyayana1399 my main thing is I miss the back and fourth of old yugioh it felt more interactive. Now its just you have your turn and thats about it
The summoning beasts used in the GX anime are used to easily summon raviel, uria and hamon, however because the are not special summoned correctly, u cant revive them with hyper blaze's second effect, only add them to the hand, however hyper blaze and cerulian skyfire help with uria and hamon respectively because u can use face down traps and spells
Actually
Uria doesn't need Continuous Traps to summon it, just faceup Traps.
It only gains attack from Continuous Traps in the graveyard.
So you can send Traps that equip themselves to monsters to summon it, you just will only gain 1000 from Continuous
I use dystopia in my kuriboh deck, stalling using all the different kuriboh effects, the reviving them with kuribohrn and then sacrificing them for dystopia, the u can use its effect banishing a kuriboh from gv
My brother actually managed to make good use of Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder. He ran a Crystal Beast deck, which made summoning Hamon easier because Crystal Beasts in your spell and trap zone count as continuous spell cards.
The sacred Beast did get a whole archetype and support built around them so they can actually be a playable deck so there's that
Uria is very good on trap monster decks in duel links
....Played þem along unchained. Helps in draw power & setting up link 3 quickly. Quite fun wiþout relying on Maxx Crutches
Dystopia isnt as hard as summon as you think he actuslly easy to summon with duston. Now if you said Zushin the sleeping giant that way harder then dystopia. Ti summon zushin you need a face up lv 1 normal monster on the field then keep that level 1 face up on your field for 10 turns. Not only do you need to stop attacks you need to be worry about book of moon for 10 turns
Thats the Tag Force version effect of Zushin.
Real version requires you to reveal the card and place counters on a lv1 vanilla. Though this is a soft once per turn so three copies can speed it up.
Anime version is comically bad. Can not be Targeted making it totally garbage.
Scapegoat would be even easier since it's a special summon not a tribute summon.
@@jeanpitre5789 I have a fun gimmicky deck that uses Dystopia. You cannot use Scapegoat to summon him because Tokens are not sent to the GY.
@@soukenmarufwt5224with hand shuffle cards you can reset the 3 copies and get him out first turn i seen a turbo deck pull it off
Best way for the Sacred Beasts, D/D/D. You have fiends, continuous traps and spells. Make the right deck, it'll be easy for them to be summoned. I have one and I've dueled against my friend with that deck and won
"Sending 4 face-up Lv 1 monsters to GY. Literally impossible"
Lyrilusc: Are we a joke to you?
Kuriboh: Bbbbrreeee!
Purrley wants in.
Gate Guardian: "Hold me beer."
I had a meme deck back in 2018 where all i had was level one monsters and rank 1xyz monsters. I ran dystopia wnd was able to bring it out easily. I also remember bringing out bird jesus too. Good times
I'm sure there's a way to summon the obedient fiend with his effects negated but can't think of any card right now
Technically Uria just says three face up traps. So you could probably cheese it IRL by simply setting and activating 3 traps, then before they get sent to the graveyard, using them to summon Uria. No point to doing this, though.
Dystopia besides the sacred beasts here seems pretty reasonable to use actually. There’s a few mass level changing effects you can use to cheat it out, otherwise there are a few archetypes that probably work for it
Old boss monsters required a lot of setup and investment to basically bringing out a beat stick with little to no protection. They where good trade bait when I was a kid.
Although nowadays you can summon like 3 boss monsters that can't destroyed or targeted by card effects with an omni-negate each. Not sure which is better.
The og Union fusion monsters of vwxyz. They got a lot of support over the years, but if you tried playing them in gx/5ds era, then running a bunch of weak vanilla monsters and not being able to run poly cause of "must first be special summoned" was crazy difficult
Those boss monsters aren't bad if you play skill drain.
Uria
They're easy af to summon with their support
Dystopia is easy to summon in a piper chaos deck. The real problem is that it's not worth it.
Yeah old boss monsters can be kinda hard to get out but if you were a kid and got one out, it will such a great feeling. The Sacred Beast were pretty awkward but Raviel wasn’t to bad. I ran him as a 1-of in a Dark World deck. Actually took him to a Regional and he helped me win a couple games. Sometimes a massive beat stick is really all you need. He worked surprisingly well against Dragon Rulers.
You're wrong about dystopia it is very easy but not consistent because you can't search it in kuriboh decks. Using one for one or flute of summoning kuriboh will help especially with kuribohrns effect going off. There's also token generators. The only difficult thing is to protect your monsters and also have a great hand. It's not consistent like I wished it were but using a kuriboh deck I've been able to summon him many times allowing my victory of course in a casual setting. Also like many other cards all it takes in one card to make it a threat.
The 3 GX god cards and Ultimate Obedient Fiend are the only 2 I recognize
Uria always had a cool, Dark Souls like name. The other two did as well but his was the coolest sounding imo. Thankfully, you can cheat out the Sacred Beasts.
Although I did find Uria easier to bring out through its condition with a full trap monster build using tech cards like Qardran. The Clear Sighted and Pharonic Advent (Hyper Blaze is live in these kinds of builds too).
Sacred Beast: Not actually that hard
Dystopia: *Modern Yu-Gi-Oh! exists*
Rocket: Um why...
Ult Obedient: "Oooo my gawd wat da hel- "
With the fire meta rn i think dystopia is definetly possible but not optimal
"By tributing 4 level 1 monsters, literally impossible "
Meanwhile scapegoat:
You have to send 4 level 1 monsters to the GY, not tribute, tokens don't work because they don't go to the GY.
@@xandercrow3400 yeah i sadly found out about that that same afternoon when i tried doing this in dueling nexus
Rocket Arrow Express is meant to just be a stall tactic. A stupidly thick wall on turn 1 if you otherwise brick your opening hand.
As for Dystopia, it’s not difficult to summon at all. Just use a deck of Kuriboh cards (including Flute of Summoning Kuriboh to special summon up to 3 from the deck in one turn), along with Relinquished. All those cards came out years before Dystopia.
Throw in other spells and traps to protect your LP and special summon stuff, and then it’s just a case of needing Dystopia in your hand.
Dystopia was my 2nd win con in my lyralisc deck during that one XYZ festival were their allowed flying C for the first day.
Raviel was actually kinda easy to get out. Stuff like Giant Germ existed, and Fiends imo have always been a solid monster type.
Sacred beasts are easy to summon within the archetype. You can get 2 on the field first turn with just a 2 card combo. And it ends up with a field spell that has a once per turn pot of greed effect and prevents the sacred beasts from being destroyed or targeted by card effects
Rocket arrow express is not a boss monster. In the anime it was literally a one turn wall and IRL I used it with knight express night to make the rank 10 XYZ trains that were the real bosses
Zushin called he wants his title back. Level 1 normal monster with 20 Zushin counters on it. There is a strat but it bricks harder then Marnarchs.
Also A Wild Monster Appears makes Bosses easy to summon at a cost.
The Sacred Beast were always pretty easy to summon specially if you build a deck around stalling.
And having four level ones I think you can easily do that with token monsters🤔 because at one time I was told by a judge at scapegoats can be used for Ritual summons or any summon that isn't a tribute summon.
Dystopia the despondent needs 5 levels to sacrifice to summon, it’s impossible
Kuriboh and his brothers: am I a joke to you
The point of Boss Monsters back then was to not break the game and OTK the moment they got on the field. So they needed perfect conditions to end the game or at least another turn or two to get them their conditions met.
Uria Insanely diff to summon,
Also Uria = Chaos Summoning beast Effect > summon Uria. Done. INSANELY HARD!!!
I love how the first three are slifer, obelisk, and ra knockoffs
Uria had an OTK and Obelisk was not that difficult since Soul Exchange, Snatch Steal, and Brain Control were staples at that time.
Anyone still remember the ultimate sphinx? You needed two level 8 cards that had different ways of summoning and a special ritual i think, for a 6500 attack monster.
So be fair, Uriah can be summoned with trap monsters, making him a staple in Paleozoics or other trap-heavy decks, Fiends aren’t hard to special summon so Raviel should be no issue. Only Hamon with continuous spells should be really difficult to summon I feel
Must be summoned with face up traps
Ultimate Obedient Fiend was good, as long as you were playing Junior Journey at least.
Wait, uria and hamon could be summoned with face down spell/traps in the anime. They made it quite a big deal.
I used dystopia in a kuriboh deck on master duel. It was really fun! The deck is literally just stall till you can summon one of many boss monsters
These boss monster were supposed to be the ultimate balance in early game whereas you have to trade off absolute power for some disadvantages.
I think Dystopia could br summoned throught the five kuriboh brothers
Let's face it, Hamon benefitted with Crystal Beasts, and Raviel can work in a pure fiend deck. While equip traps and monster traps also qualify for the special summon.
well for the most part old school yugioh was trying to keep power creep under control unlike now where its 50 plus summons to get 5 big monsters out
I mean, dystopia could theoretically see play in snake eyes decks due to how many level 1s there are in it
I have a sacred beast deck and there actually pretty easy to summon and there op i just need a chaos summoning beast to special summon raviel or hamon and when chaos beast goes to the graveyard i can banish it to get fallen parafise from my deck which is both a free pot of greed every turn and it make all the sacred beats on the field unaffected by effects
Dystopia can be summoned with Scapegoat since it brings out 4 tokens that are level 1
Dystopia, there is but one simple solution… Dustons.
That last one could be ok in a infernity deck cuz look mom no hands 🙌🏼 😂
rocket arrow was still nice to make a quick rank 10 or just set up a wall, and Uria was actually kinda sick for mist valley falcon/zephyros type strats
I know a guy who plays sacred beasts. He summons both Raviel and Hampn in one turn. It stupid easy with the right cards. Generally our duels go back and forth on winner though so not unbeatable by any means
Hamman? Ha-mon. And speaking of him he was definitely the easiest of the three phantasms to summon.
4 level ones is literally using scapegoat to get 4 tokens and SM summon him
You can't use Tokens, the material has to be send to the GY for the summon to work.
All the sacred beast can easily be summoned using a lv 1 monster that allows for you to tribute it and summon one of them from ur hand for free then search their field spell which was protection and a pot of greed every turn
I'm glad most new boss monsters can be splashed into any deck while providing a negate or two just by coughing loudly. It totally didn't break the game to the point of making almost 1/3 of the cards (traps) completely redundant.
I remember saccing for Raviel and then banishing the sacs for Dark Necrofear and then normaling Snipe Hunter and clearing my opponent's board.
You see, back then there where no synchro, link, ritual nor xyds monsters. So literally the only way to summon anything was trough normal summon with monster tribute or special effect and usually the effects also didn't allowed you to summon anything stronger back then. Is not the boss cards that where nerfed, the whole game was nerfed. I miss those days, back then the game was actually fun.
I used to run an all-trap deck back in the day. It was mostly a stall burn thing, until I thought about adding this card lol
Rocket arrow express was meant to get put Gustav max which doesn't need to attack to do damage
dystopia is easy with lyrilusc, kuriboh, or treasure panda decks
I actually used dystopia the despondent a lot back when I ran my kuriboh deck. Pretty easy to get out first time with kuriboh support
Ah yes, the hardest, most impossible thing to do. Getting 4 level ones on the field. Definitely cannot do that either tokens. No siree. No way to do that.
a Kuribo/Relinquished deck can summon Dystopia even on a flrst turn and its AMAZINGLY fun to use
Raviel and hamon were easy to summon. Hamon in crystal beasts and Raviel using scapegoat plus dna surgery or using giant germ.
Uria you can summon with just traps it says for damage you need continuous ones though
idk why but i love old lvl 10+ boss monsters for some odd reason.
Well, these days it's not impossible to summon Dystopia through his summon conditions.
yay sacred beast :)
funny thing was that I was about to release a video about the sacred beasts
Despondant works really well with kuriboh so has become a good niche monster
Dystopia 4 Level 1 Monsters to Special summon that's easy.
I mean how often had Joey in the Anime 4 Level 1 Monsters one the field that you can Tribute for everything except normal summoning.
Dystopia is super simple to summon in kuriboh deck ! We can have it turn 1 literrally
These are cards that are made to be balanced when they're released. It night be very ez to handle in the current meta, but if you play the PSP game, and I dare you to wait until all three beast are summoned, see if you can handle those unless you build a deck specifically to counter them.
Bruh dystopia bout to be used in snake eyes fire king lmao
5 level 1s is pretty easy
Alright, but what if we used Ultimate Obedient Fiend with Anti-Spell Fragrance and Skill Drain. Bonus points if you also have Mystic Mine up.
Actually the one that needed level one monsters could be done with level restriction cards
I remember using Hamon with Crystal Beasts back in the day in Yugioh Online. That was my way of getting it on the field.
Dystopia I’ve tried to summon in 30 duels by trying the kuriboh brothers strat with 5 star twilight and with how the meta currently is it’s impossible
I had a blue eyes player play mound of the bound creator against me in my masochist challenge and I summoned that rocket arrow and they couldn't out it.
Idc of they were difficult to summon! I got Uria on it's first release but had my whole deck stolen! That card will always be my favorite
Ultimate Great Moth has entered the chat
I got Dystopia in my kuriboh theme deck. Bro is a heavy hitter and no one expects him lol
Made a kuriboh deck with dystopia in master duel, a meme deck maybe but played with a friend who made his own kuriboh deck with a diff boss monster game was slow and last for 35 turns
Easiest way for dystopia, scapegoat end phase of opponents turn 🤣
Don’t forget that the sacred beasts got support in their own structure deck
if you play the sacred beasts with the support it's given then theyre very easy to summon
I saw a Kuriboh deck profile and Dystopia The Despondant was the boss monster due to the effect of 5 Star Twilight to get out all of the Kuriboh brothers
