What she is doing right now with different Russian composers is interesting, even signing in Arabic, but Rechenka at 14 was quite a performance. Diana has a unique voice - "contralto", the lowest female voice (F3-F5). It is very rare for girls.
Diana's working range of voice is two tones lower and four tones higher than that of the contralto (D3-D6), the tenor is mezzo-soprano. Diana's rich set of techniques, emotional presentation, velvety timbre and attractive appearance make her stand out among the vocalists on the stage.
Diana continues her career as a pop singer, gives concerts in Russian cities, studies at the State

Diana has an amazing back story, I'm sure our Russian friends will fill you in fully. She has many amazing songs and was only 15 years old in this performance. Today she is 17 with a birthday in 9 days (May 31st). She released an original single on March 26th called Happiness. It's in Russian but she provides excellent English subtitles and doesn't block aggressively like NTV (HTB). She sings in multiple languages and is currently learning English. She is enrolled in GITIS performing arts University in Moscow and just finishing her Freshman year. Rechenka is her signature performance.

What she is doing right now with different Russian composers is interesting, even signing in Arabic, but Rechenka at 14 was quite a performance. As for appearing in America, she is a 1st year College student and she wants to have her diploma, so maybe in a cultural fest. Her 1st album should be out pretty soon.

Ironically, Diana herself was abused and abandoned by her alcoholic mother at a bus stop with a broken collarbone when she was 3, and placed in an orphanage.
She was adopted a few years later by Irina Ponik who provided a nurturing and loving environment for Diana.
Because of this abusive beginning to her life, her speech was very undeveloped and she was given singing lessons to help improve her speech. Her talents was quickly recognized and the rest is history.

You nailed it, Diana has indeed "been through it." Abusive alcoholic mother who burned her with cigarettes and dumped her out with the trash. Saved by authorities by placing her in an orphanage at age 3. So traumatized she couldn't talk until adopted by an orphanage employee (age 5) and received singing lessons as therapy.

The one that seems to amaze people the most is polyphonic voice. This technique is used in Slavic folk music, like Bulgarian vocal groups or artists like Pelageya, the Russian folk diva. Diana spoke badly, cried a lot and was still very scared but she all sing songs from cartoons. And so, the singing teacher Elena Kazantseva discovered Diana's talent. And all started ...
During 2008 to 2012 Diana sang around 40 songs, including at competitions.
Diana's mother became her daughter's manager. Everything that has to do with Diana's singing training, performances, competitions, looking for sponsors is organized and coordinated by her mother Irina Ponik. She took extra sewing courses too. Since then, she's been sewing all of Diana's stage costumes, because all of these things consume the family budget. She accompanies her daughter on trips and captures her life in photos and videos with the persistence of a visionary.
Diana impressed with her talent in over 50 national and international competitions. Her confidence grew, her voice continued to develop ... until one day she was asked to compete in more distant competitions so that other children could have a chance to win.
So, 2012 Irina’s family moved to her hometown of Toglyatti, much closer to Moscow. Diana lost her fear that the woman who gave birth to her would kidnap her.
In 2017 Diana went to Moscow, at the Russian 'The Voice Kids'. Next day, a huge scandal broke out in social medias. People demanded for Diana's participation in the competition. A door had closed but a new door opened...
Diana entered another competition in 2018 and 2019 and won twice. This project is unique in the world, an international TV- competition: 'You are Super', especially for adopted and orphaned children.
2018 (3rd season) Diana sang 'Derniere danse' (French), 'It's a Man's Man's Man's World' (Engl.), 'The River' (Russ.), 'Tomorrow Is A Lie' (Engl.) and 2019 (super season) Diana won the Grand Prix with 'Blizzard' (Russ.), 'Wicked Game' (Engl.) and 'Human' (Engl.).
The winner of the season will be determined by a 6-day public vote and the final took place in the Kremlin Palace and her videos were uploaded to RUclips and soon she had millions of fans.
The project producers help the finalists start studying and encourage their creativity. Diana won a scholarship to the College of Music. Igor Krutoy, here as a juror, gave her a small apartment in Moscow. So, she could start her vocal training with the best teachers such as Professor Olga Donskoy (She died of Covid-19 in Oct. 2020).
The break of voice made Diana’s voice even darker and deeper. She has mastered this time very professionally and has worked hard to bring back the lost high notes and has expanded her vocal range, currently from C3 to D6. Her genres are folk-rock, folk-pop, jazz, soul, blues, soldier songs and Diana-stile… tradition meets modernity.
She loves to sing in French, but also sings in English, German, Arabic and Spanish... but only phonetically.
But she is not only a great singer and storyteller, but also a humble, intelligent and hardworking young woman. She also gives charity concerts. She loves her family and her fans.
