It’s for the cover that some cartridges have, which can be removed to death n the cartridge before spinning it off. If you don’t remove that cover on the end of the cartridge, you don’t need to replace the small o-ring. Other cartridges are not equipped with the cover at all.
Hi, Viktor, big fan and great to see your video back! quick question, saw a video about 4th gen rx350 transmission fluid service before your channel situation; so why this model i don't see you change transmission fluid filter or take out bottom pan? any specialty about this model?
Well done, thsnks; replaced my 2014 Fsport for a 2022 RX Luxury Package, 20,000 Kms. How do I maintain the heated thermostat assembly whci I understand is a weak point in this design? Thanks, Steve
Hi, O-rings do not need to be replaced unless they are either leaking or you disturbed them (ie separated the parts that they are sealing). Since I do not drain the filter before removing it, that O-ring does not need to be replaced, only the big one on the filter housing. There are literally dozens of O-rings inside the engine and transmission, we don't worry about them unless we separate those parts or see a leak :)
The only time I see plastic ones break is when people use a wrong oil filter tool for removal, so I wouldn’t bother switching to an aluminum one myself.
@@Viktor_G_Automotive thank you for the reply, please in future videos if the reset can be done by the user without a scan tool, please add it to the video. Thank you
Hi Victor great video. I have 2013 rx350 79k kms and I am using Mobil 1 0W20 from last few years. every 3-4 months after driving like 2 thousand kms, oil turns red. Is it normal for oil to go red?
It’s because the Amazon application guide is usually incorrect. Everything is applicable to your RX and there are no different Lexus vs Toyota parts, they are all made by Toyota.
Please keep posting 4th generation RX videos!
Sounds good 👍🏻
Excellent videos Viktor! Thank you very much for taking the time to record and post these rx450h videos.
My pleasure!
Very thorough. Thanks!
I appreciate that!

Perfect Viktor Cheers !
Thank you! 🙂
Thanks

I notice there is 2 O-rings, one smal and one large. What is small O-ring for?

The transmission fluid filter is supposed to last a lifetime, but can be replaced if the customer requests.
Viktor. Can you do a video on how to change the motor mounts and trans mount on 2015 Lexus rx350 please? Thanks
I will if I get a chance. Why do you want to replace them? I’ve never seen them fail on that model.
@@Viktor_G_Automotive mine are starting to go bad as I have excessive engine vibration and rattling. I already check them. It’s the engine mounts.
Do you have a video for replacing a noisy vacuum pump?
Not yet, but will put it on my to do list.

Hi, there is no maintenance one can do for the thermostat. Just replace the coolant at 100K miles.
Hey bud, I think you forgot to replace the washer on the oil filter drain plug.

I have 2019Rx350. I have been using Mobile one. 0w-20. Can I switch to Costco brand Kirkland synthetic 0w-20.
Do you recommend the aluminum housing instead of the plastic one?
The only time I see plastic ones break is when people use a wrong oil filter tool for removal, so I wouldn’t bother switching to an aluminum one myself.
Hi Viktor, thank for your videos, do you have to reset or clear reminder after the change ? Thank you
Yes, reminder needs to be reset.

I haven’t really seen oil turn red before, more like a golden brownish colour at first, then brown black.
All of the parts links you have on Amazon is saying the parts won’t fit my ‘17 RX350. Is this because you linked to the equivalent Toyota part?
It’s because the Amazon application guide is usually incorrect. Everything is applicable to your RX and there are no different Lexus vs Toyota parts, they are all made by Toyota.
