- Another point I wasn't able to include in this is the argument that "RE3 Remake is better because the original game's city was unrealistic and the inclusion of puzzles makes the world unbelievable." It's a shocking argument, made by someone who clearly prefers pretty graphics over gameplay. Being "realistic" doesn't make something automatically better, especially with a video game.
I thought your review had nothing to argue about and your point of view was accurate the part with map difference really hurted me cuz on how unexploreable the city in the remake really is... I hope for huge update upgrades or remake the remake call it resident evil 3 remake 2.0
Under The Mayo hey just a question. What’s your thoughts on re4 and do you think capcom should remake it?
Hey I agree with your review! I totally see your points! However, I did like this remake! I just felt it was just rushed! As soon as we started I was like dude we are already at the train wtf!
Will you be reviewing death stranding ?? I think not since you are loving Doom external's fast pace game, but still I hope you will do it one day.
How the hell is RE3 Remake "realistic?" Graphics? Okay, but Jill has super mega plot armor and that completely bonkers anime ending. So realistic guys...
Fail.
OG Jill: "You want S.T.A.R.S., I'll give you stars!" *deals finishing blow*
Remake Jill:
"You want S.T.A.R.S., I'll give you stars!" *runs away*
😂😂 makes no sense
No, remake Jill runs gets hit and is interrupted mid sentence 😂
First play through for me I didn't even hear her say it. It wasn't untill I watched a vid in RUclips about how bad it is I even knew she said it
They truly didn't give a shit about RE3 did they?
That part took me tf out it was so bad 😂💀
I think too many people are blinded by pretty graphics to actually *see* a game for what it is.
Joven C yeh...
gameplay over graphics. Hell, Dusk does not look super extra kewl, but it plays like a dream!
this mindset is why I, example with Major May 2016 releases, prefer the Magnificent and Metal DOOM and Fun, Hilarious and Underrated Battleborn over Overrated, Overhyped, Overpraised Overwatched, with Titanfall 2, Killing Floor 2 and Shadow Warrior 2 also being more to my liking.
@@drivanradosivic1357
I'll always go for a game that looks fun and enjoyable over a game that's just pretty. I've found that most games these days are just fluff held up by pretty graphics and mediocre gameplay. It's very rare to find a game that manages to pull off both solid looks and solid gameplay i.e. DOOM Eternal.
Joven C Yeah that was me at first lol. Still fun and graphics are amazing but not what it could ve been
Or they never played the original
People who deadass try to justify why a game that has less content then a PS1 game should be 60 dollars honestly scare and confuse me.
They’re just trying to justify their purchases. They don’t want to admit that they wasted $60 so they argue online in order to validate their buying behavior and not feel stupid.
@@sevenchambers I don't understand was it so hard to be honest to oneself in these days, I paid for this game in the first day of release in full $60, and I am damn sure this shit doesn't worth that much. I don't feel much stupid but I'm mad for getting cheated and lied. I think people should stand up against this lying bullshit, to prevent CAPCOM cheat us again, and it can't be done by justify the game is worth for $60 when CAPCOM is treating you like bitches.
I beat the original RE3 in under an hour and a half. First time. And yet this game took me 7 hours. Sure, pal.
@@generalgrievous9107 Beat the original RE3 in under an hour and half on first run, sure and the earth is plate.
The only thing that made it worth it for me was the Resistance game that came with it, that I honestly didn't think I'd play that much but I ended up putting in 40+ hours and only around 4 in Resi 3 lol.
The one thing I see with people trying to defend this games length is using the door loading as the reason the original was a longer game.
I didn’t realise that the clock tower, park, bar and restaurant area, the dead factory and all the puzzles were actually just door loading screens.
Dear lord have people actually said that? People really just wanna shit all over on the original games don’t they
Some say, "meh, anyway RE3 was short too, so what's the point to criticize RE3R for its shortness"
Alex Kid yeah i’ve seen some people say that but to that i say re3 original was short but sweet it had meaningful content, re3r is short but it feels empty
omG No THe GAmYE Is gOo0D -some random 6 year old who shouldn’t be playing that game
arock32497 yea, saw it pop up a few times on Reddit and every time someone complains about the games length they just claim that the original was short so somehow that makes this remake okay...despite missing at least a third of the original.
The original may have been short but it least it felt like a Resident Evil with a great sense of tension and not this new streamlined rush to the finish version.
"Your video isn't a review because it doesn't talk about the development of the game"
...
What?
It was a real comment I got.
@@underthemayo dude that question gave me brain damage
Unraveler haha yeah it’s incredible that an actual person wrote that
@@ChristianProtossDragoon that's the wrong context. Review in YOUR opinion should then be "A Review of Resident Evil 3 and it's remake's Development". The context here is simply evaluating a game on its own, which is what the video was, comparing to the original does NOT make it about the original, as it just a mirror or lens to view THIS game.
@@ChristianProtossDragoon why should he care what you said its his reivew and his opinion
2:25
Additionally, Nemesis was far more verbally comprehensive in the original. You could clearly hear him fluently say "Stars" over and over and over throughout the entire game. Thus, when Jill says her famous "You want Stars???" line at the end of the final battle, its FAR more justified. She's been hearing it non-stop.
In the remake, Nemesis hasn't had the time to establish his obsessive use of the word "Stars", yet Jill talks like he has. Hell, its extremely difficult to makeout whether Nemesis is even saying the word or just roaring most of the time because the devs thought giving him a typical monster-voice was the way to go.
Yeah I thought this too, he didn't say it nearly enough
@@ChristianProtossDragoon and that shows how stupid you are, Jill hearing stars a lot justifies her "You want stars, ill give you stars", rather than "Fucking bitch, you want stars ill give you stars" without Nemesis even saying it almost.
I never noticed this thank you very much :>

Capcom should take notes from RE1 remake. That's how you make a true remake without cutting content and add more to the lore and gameplay...would love to see the Crimson heads return...
Mario Gonzalez yeah would live to see them return but don’t do it in the style of the original Re1 since the controls are archaic and limited and makes not sense to make it like that in modern times
@@jagtech490 in RE1 remake the controls aren't tank control like the OG.
@@Proudtrekkie96 I think people just don't like getting used to tank controls and fixed camera angles, even though they play fine when the game is designed around them. Heck, even Until Dawn used a modern version of the fixed camera perspective and it worked wonders for its horror elements.
@@stephenobrien6983 and yet people are fine with tank controls in RE4. Also I meant that re1 remake doesn't have tank tank controls.

Oh I agree. ✌️
Fanboys just don't want to admit this game was a massive step back. I've been with RE from the start but I'm smart enough not to let nostalgia take over and blind me. This game was a massive linear money grab.
I liked the combat, I love the feel when your in the moment and not thinking, but even I agree that the game is a tad bit lazy.
Tad bit to lazy
Its actually the casuals who are defending this game. They dont understand the expectations we have for these games. They didint grow up playing the original trilogy so they defend re2 and re3 remakes blindly
@@maurice_814 There are definitely thing that re2 remake missed from the original that it shouldn't have but if we are comparing 2 remake to 3 remake , 2 blows it out of the water.

There a point in there?
@@ChristianProtossDragoon A "glorified" Spin-off, and yes is better than the remake.
@@ChristianProtossDragoon Great way to describe the remake. You can pass the original in less than 2 hours (i have done it ) and it´s way more complex than "pressing up"
then: YOU WANT STARS? I GIVE YOU STARS!
now: YOU WANT STARS? I GIVE YOU *UUUHHHHH*
That's so accurate
To be honest Nemesis ended up getting the worst treatments after the og RE3,He was in 2 horrible adaptations of the 3rd game and is basically cloned for other games like 5 and 6........poor Nemesis.........All he wanted to do was splatter ya across the pavement
Ustanak was awesome tho
and to think that jill says "ill give you stars" in the original game when she pulls the trigger when she's "actually fighting" and in the remake where... she says this while running away.. so sad. D:
You know what I find ironic about the taxi quicktime cut scene? It's that they did the exact same thing in Resident Evil 7 except they actually allowed you to freely move the car.
Not to mention, the boss fight can actually go one of two separate ways, depending on whether you get in the car and drive it back, before Jack Baker can pull you out. So between that and the one choice near the end, it is like RE7 actually has more content resembling the original RE3’s branching paths and live-selection than the RE3 Remake does.
THIS! I thought I was the only one who noticed this and how RE7 did it better. The audacity of those who say that RE7 is scripted and linear (I mean it somewhat is but not nearly to the degree people are making it out to be) yet have the galls to say this isn't.
Yes that was actually a very clever and unique pseudo-boss fight.
@@markcobuzzi826 Yeah, and the "madhouse diffuculty" is acutally the same thing as the "second run" in the sequel(RE2make). only without a false promise of a "different story"
plus you could actually DRIVE the car and then even though jack takes it from you later, you can actually mess up, get in the car at the wrong moment, and jack immediately starts to run you down without you getting to use the car on him at all
The wasted potential of this remake genuinely hurts me
re2 also had a lot of wasted potential. smh
@@ourevilone What are you talking about? that game is good.
@@Blue-Apple-fc9eo yeah but it still doesnt negate the fact so much stuff could have added to the game and made it GOAT, that can be subjective and im sure youd say that it is or ssomething but with added things that this video pointed out im sure, i havent seen it in 2 years apparently, but had the game had that, it would have been more memorable.
@@ourevilone Understandable but I personally still enjoys the game to be fair I never played the original re2 game.
RE2 Remake was missing content, but it was undeniably a great Resident Evil game right up there with the originals. I would ever argue it is better than the original though I'm sure fanboys will fight me on that. I argue this point so you can understand I have genuinely considered my opinion on this when I say RE3 Remake is fucking dogshit.
I was HURT by that game. I wanted to love it so bad. I was ready for Nemesis in his slick new design to be the baddest motherfucker he could be. I was ready for RE2 Remake but set in the city and with an even more powerful tyrant. I grew up with this franchise and I liked where they were taking it.
Then the game came out, it was mostly scripted segments and linear hallways with little puzzle solving and they turned Jill into a one note character and made Nemesis out to be a bitch... How... HOW did they fuck this up. Jesus christ, HOW. I am still furious about this two years post release.
You know something is screwed up with Mr. X has far more personality and grit than Nemesis.
This game doesn`t need a patch or dlc needs a new versión of the same game.
Honestly that is so on point. I was thinking the same. A DLC would still just be more cringe worthy and rushed crap. You can't polish a turd.
They should re release the whole thing and start again but that is a dream and will never happen so we will need to wait for the best modders to do RE3 justice.

Hail to you My Friend, I shall be by your side with the statement
Coming from REmake 2, it seems like such a huge waste that REmake 3 didn't carry over the innovations from 2. From the looks of it, REmake 3 just seems like a DLC meant to be some sort of stopgap for another real RE game that's in the works.
innovations from 2? what the hell is wrong with everyone, re2 remake had the same fucking problems, omitting HUGE parts of the game, unnecessary changes of characters and a totally botched soundtrack. re2 remake is more fun to play in general but you cant say these problems started with re3. Capcom is doing what capcom has done for a long time now, they rush shit just to cash in and fans need to call it out in ALL cases, not just now.
@@ourevilone true, but the problems were far less noticeable in RE2MAKE, and people were still calling it out, for example, I hate that Claire swears all the time, just like Jill
RE2 remake was not great, but it had a lot of pretty good stuff in it. However it pales in comparison to the amount of content the original had. RE3 has the same problem, except it has even less stuff that the original game had, and it almost feels rushed and unfinished, a cynical glorified dlc. RE1 remake was great.
@@ourevilone Innovations you ask, here you go: Zombies opening doors, Mr X hunting you all over the game and its mechanics to find you, the actions of the zombies, the gore on them too. Resident evil 3 reboot has even less content and quits some of the innovations I told you like the gore.
Resident evil 2 reboot is way better that RE3 reboot but both of them are not good if compared to their original versions
@@zerot480 you dont seem to know what innovative is, and im speaking in gaming I general. How are enemies following you an innovation in gaming?
I'm not gonna lie, the main reason why I didn't get it was because of the asking price. 60$ for 3 hour experience??? no thanks
Not worth my time and money.
@BooN Cabal if you literally kill everything, watc on every poster and wall in the game, admire lightning effects it gona be 7 hours max, and its with cutscenes and QTE and mindless runing around to the box to stash your inventory because you want to pick up battery that takes 2 slots and that happens whole game.
If you remove inventory problem and QTE this game would be an actual 1 hour of gameplay.
@BooN Cabal I don't mind the game, it is great sure. but to tack on a full price $60 with the amount of content you get from the game. It should've have been a DLC for Resident Evil 2 remake. I feel cheaped out for paying for this. The only value that I can see from the game is NG+ and playing on the harder difficulties, but other then that, nope. This is a hard pass for me, and is kinda of over shadowed by the relaese of other big games, like FFVII REMAKE. :/

Thank you, dude, for breaking down some of the dumbest criticisms to your review . It's really depressing the amount of people who will defend a cheap, claptrap "remake" like this. What a huge waste of potential here.
I've been a Resident Evil fan for almost 20 years, RE2 and RE3 being my favorites, and I actually enjoyed this game, don't get me wrong, like all long time fan I was expecting much more, but saying the game is complety trash and a disgrace to the original is going a little bit too far... All the problems this game has arise from the little time Capcom gave the studio in charge, making the full map of the original, or at least something a lot closer to it, would have required a lot more time, a bigger map would have opened the door for making Nemesis a more menacing presence and implement random encounters with him, however this would have required even more time, having Mr. X searching actively for the player, punching him or grabbing him when close is one thing (pretty straightforward), but Nemesis is way more vicious and dynamic, he has more moves and access to heavy weapons, add up more open environments full of other enemies into the mix and then you have a pretty tough gameplay design challenge to keep the game fun and engaging while also mantaining RE's relatively realistic tone .... I'm sure it can be done, provided the studio in charge is given enough time, hopefuly Capcom will use this as a base for a true remake in the future.
This is bullshit, they had time to developed so-called RE Resistance trash. And another point is that they spend all of their budget to super expensive cut-scenes.
@@Foxtrot2F That also proves my point, they spent a lot of time and resources on a multiplayer mode nobody asked for, had they spent that time and budget on the single player campaign we could have had a remake on par with RE2 remake; again, I don't think it's a bad game per se, but I do agree that as a remake it falls short.
@@javierpedroza867 It's not bad, it's Ok, it's good in many points. But their price politics in some cases just inadequate.
Now I only played it twice so I could have missed something but, how did Brad even know about Nemesis and that he was specifically targeting STARS? It seemed from the intro that Nemesis went straight for Jill's place as soon as he was dropped (he was still uhm, in the original package), and Brad didn't mention any other extant STARS member being killed by Nemesis, or himself being actually attacked. His panic is just as out of the blue as is it pointless, as there's no indication Nemesis gives a rat's ass about him at any point.
True, didn't think about that. Makes this even more dumb 😂
Brad: it’s got a hardon for STARS Members
Nemesis: I don’t even know who you are
This game has nothing to do with the original Re3, this is just a stupid rush and explode nonsense. What a garbage.
I actually enjoyed the game, I went into it not comparing it to the original game because it's simply ......not the original game. RE3 Remake counterpart is RE2 remake which also changed a few things so I went in unbiased. Fun experience for what it is imo.
9:10 You misunderstood this encounter, it’s not a 360 degrees combat sequence at all. That area is actually a clever combat oriented puzzle: everytime you hit a switch the maximum number of active deimos at a time will increase by one and it will reduce the respawn time. So basically you have to decide which order of switches is more convenient so that when you hit the last one you will have to make your escape while overwhelmed by them. For the first two switches, it’s pretty okay to kill all deimos before moving on since the maximum number is low and they take longer to respawn, but later it is pointless since they’ll just keep coming back in no time. There’s a lot of room for creating strategy in that encounter and it’s very much survival horror. Besides, you can use the lever for a split second to bait the deimos AI to follow you and potentially use generators to kill them. I believe below nightmare/inferno these parameters are much more generous so you don’t get the full experience.
So you're saying this is a clever combat puzzle once you know the spawn numbers and respawn rates? Information that isn't available to you when you're experiencing this section your first time? Thanks I guess. You comment has nothing to do with my issue about the 360 degree combat. I'm talking about enemies behind on your sides and behind you in a camera style that isn't designed for it.
@@underthemayo it’s fairly easy to notice the area gets progressively overwhelming in a first playthrough, I just shared more detailed info on how they achieve that behind the scenes. The game hints you by always spawning an enemy in the hole next to the switch you just turned on. My point is the design of this section was not for you to engage in a 360 degrees combat, that will happen if you just randomly go without a strategy - so you were criticizing it for something it wasn’t designed for. It seems fair to me to punish the player for not coming up with a strategy. It’s a survival horror section, not a combat sequence.

Actually, this is false. In the original Resident Evil from 1996, one of the zombies opens door as you are attempting to exit the basement for the first time.
The first time you encounter a hunter, it also opens a door, so it's definitely not a first time an enemy does such a thing.

To be fair the one thing that scared the hell out of me in the remake was Nemises being able to enter one of the save rooms. That was probably the only thing that threw me for a loop though and was probably the only thing that scared me. Lol the insect area of the power plant was pretty creepy to me tho. But I have an irrational fear of some alien like creature stuffing it's tendrils down my throat and planting a organism in me. Maybe that's biased tho. I do kind of wish they put them in the game more tho.
i was born in 85. I can tell that you were born in the 85 to 91 timeframe, that being said i have seen almost everything, from the Sega Genesis, nintentendo to the first playstation to the modern day consoles. what i want to get to @under_the_mayo is that i i share your mindset about video games and what a video game is. I subscribed to you for that reason, in this case i played the original RE3N when it came out, and i agree with you in every single detail of your videos. I love RE, but the truth is truth, just like the Star Wars "situation". Anyways, cheers mate.
I found your channel when I saw your video in defense of Doom's Marauder and it put you on my radar. Excellent work there.
After your RE3 vid I subbed because you summed up EXACTLY how I felt, from the pre-release anticipation to the majesty and work of art that was RE2make, to the utter disappoint that was RE3make.
Your videos are in-depth and don't pull any punches. I love the way you take the time to really illustrate your points and ensure they come off the right way. I eagerly look forward to more of your work. 😊
The one argument I would make is the hold up segment, the games you mentioned like god of war atleast had story and purpose to make you move slowly like the canoe segments where they explain story or show character personality while you simply move a control stick. It's not a lot but it does occupy your time and doesn't feel stale for that game especially first time players but yeah resident evil 3 just sort of lacks that.
Yeah i get why developers do it. They think it's better than just having an opening movie and dropping you into gameplay. They are easing the player into the movement. My MAIN issues with this, as put in the video, is that every time you want to replay the game, you gotta go through 20 minutes of WALKING again. Can't skip it. - Hey also thanks for politely disagreeing and commenting, instead of insulting me. I appreciate it.
@@underthemayo What do you mean? Walking through a 40 minute haunted house with the same puzzles, no weapons and almost zero player choice is amazing... especially on repeat playthroughs.
Let it be known that this "remake" was released just one year after RE2 Remake. I knew it was going to go downhill. The original was released one year after too, but it felt like an actual video game and alot more effort was put into it compared to the one we got. Damn it, Capcom! Fix your shit!
Also, it was originally meant to be a spin-off of RE2 but due to a contractual agreement between Capcom and Sony at the time, it was made a main line entry. The actual resident evil 3 is code veronica.

Thank you, Mayo, for responding to your video criticism with intellect and courage of your conviction against RE3R.
I am glad to see you stand up against people who try to belittle your criticism just because they do not want to have higher standards with modern-day gaming production.
Well done, bud!
To be fair, "modern game design" means nothing. I know what you mean, you're talking about style over substance, when sequences are designed to bedazzle at the cost of interactivity. It's hardly that modern anymore tho. It's been typical of triple A gaming for more than a decade at this point, if anything I'd say that things are better now than they used to be.
But anyway, I hate this shit. At least most games have the decency to make cutscenes skippable but those limited-interactions sequences ? Nope.
I payed $30 for this on a steam sale and I still wanted my money back
If it was me, i'd rather the devs pay me for enduring this.

I'm glad that you acknowledge that the bonus unlock system is actually implemented very well. Just a shame that the game isn't as good as RE2make and doesn't have nearly as much content. Also, there's nothing inherently wrong with a short game - one of my favorite horror games, Corpse Party, can be beaten in under an hour if you skip all dialog and know exactly what to do and where to go - but you need to make sure that people WANT to replay the game. I'll play through RE3make again at some point, but for now, I have too many other games that are better that I either haven't beaten yet or want to play again.
I want to know what Capcom has to say about all of this. This remake was a great great great dissapointment SMH
they rushed everything
When people say 'but review IS about the development of the game!'...bruh, there are several meanings to the word Review, and in the original video it was simply an evaluation of the remake.
Just becuz an analysis is about the remake doesn't mean you can't use the original to compare, the subject doesn't to the original, it's still about the remake.
I'll be honest, if you want 'development', you are better off going to IGN or the official channels for 'dev diarys', not every game reviewer is entitled to insider information on release ok? They are normal humans like the rest of us, isn't that why you clicked on the video?
@@ChristianProtossDragoon No, it is not asinine. Because it is a "REMAKE" it will inevitably be compared to the original. Because it is essentially riding on the coattails of the original game.
I'm happy that i found your reviews, good job telling what needs to be told.
Fun Fact: there's an alternate version of the Drain Demos on the OG RE3, They are called Brain Suckers. I would guess that the idea to these mutants is sum lar to the 2 forms of the Lickers in the OG RE2!?
I played the remake 2 and remake 3 back to back. I totally agree with you, remake 2 definitely left an impression. I was really immersed into the characters, and actually scared when Mr.X came chasing for me. And in Remake 3 nothing really stood except seeing what nemisis was able to do. It felt more like watch a story, and just understanding the background and conncection in terms of time line between remake 2 and 3.
I know it's probably a bit late but I'd love to see your review on the RE2 remake!
She got the modern Charlie's angel movie treatment.
I really enjoy your content and how you articulate your arguments. From your Doom Eternal videos to your God of War essay. Keep it up man!
I might be a little late on this realisation, but with some of the points that you've mentioned Mayo, it reminds me a lot of Resident Evil 6. What do I mean by this you might be wondering with pitchforks in hand? Well, the hold up section reminds me of when Chris and his partner (I forgot his name) are running from Haos and it's just hold up until a few sections where you have a brief fight. Whereas, Jill using the car against Nemesis involving quick time events reminds me when Leon is in the police car when leaving the campus and there's a quick time event where he tries to find the ignition key to drive away.
Again, I might be quite late to this realisation so my bad on taking so long to figure this out.
no need for pitchforks , im surprised other people dont feel the same way , this is more so a game in the vein of re6 than re2 remake. There is a shallowness to it under the coat of all the explosions and set pieces.
To be fair, re6 has a ton more content in comparison but it also suffers a lot more from forced walking sections.
Like the first 20 mins of Leon's camping is just walking around the campus, I bet everyone hates that
@@MauriciOwO yeah thats fair , re6 was pretty amazing value for money even back in the day. But yeah the leons campaing , and some of the pacing in general was pretty bad apart from other issues. These two games (re3R and re6) really emrace the spectacle of AAA action blockbuster game , feeling just so out of place with the rest of the games to me
Your little section on holding up… mate you’ve nailed it. The climbing in uncharted isn’t exactly holding forward and up but it’s similar. God of war, crawl spaces and that in between realm… dude I’d rather have a loading screen instead the illusion I’m playing the game. As you mention the silent hill 2 holding up. You are holding up but your mind is not thinking that. Your mind is already feeling terror from running through the fog. It’s psychological, and the sound design is all working to make it apart of the gameplay from the famous run to silent hill. But you’re right, 99% of the time it’s devs wasting our time and padding length.
You, The Critical Drinker and Angry Joe are the only reviewers I know of who are actually being brutally honest and addressing this game's problems. I see too many people being too lenient and just acting like this game only made a few minor mistakes when it has made too many to count. Calling RE3 a "re-imagining" instead of a remake doesn't justify Capcom reducing the budget and the time developing the main game to shoehorn the already dead multiplayer so they can sell loot boxes. This game just was not finished. They put some actual work into a couple projects and suddenly they think they can get away with this bullshit and they will if people keep sucking this game off without acknowledging it's faults. Capcom is being Capcom again and that's not a good sign for future titles.
To even be mentioned in the same sentence as those two is a huge compliment, though a bit unwarranted. Thank you. I'll keep putting out stuff i believe in.
Wolfwood 93 check out Ranton too, guy has a unique delivery and is equally, brutally honest.
Can you do a comparison between RE 2 Remake & RE 3 Remake?
Thank goodness i pirated this, what an abysmal remake

@@விஷ்ணு_கார்த்திக் And I heard that it's the same ass team remaking RE4. Oh fuck.....
There's objectively no way to contradict what you say, the points you explain are not simple opinions, they are FACTS. Your previous video about RE3 contains literally every feeling I felt, every expectation I had and most importantly every disappointment this game gave to me, literally everything. I think a TRUE Resident Evil fan felt the same way that you did when playing it the first time (as I did). Every criticism to your explanation is literally pointless. If I had to review this game, I'd take your video and let you speak for me because the disappointment is exactly the same.
@Dark Web
No it isn't. RE3 OG still holds up wonderfully. The best of the first three games even.
If you have to rely on the argument of nostalgia, you've officially lost me. Condescending much?
In the original RE, there were actually up to three zombies opening doors (the very first one you encounter with Jill for example) as well as two Hunters (also the first one you encounter).

If playing a part of a game is comparable to holding a button to play a movie, it's not gameplay. Gameplay is all about making choices, if you're not given any choices to make, you're not playing the game, you're watching a movie that will only play if you hold a button.
I love your content so much, dude. It’s beautiful and genuine when you’re talking about something like RE3. I also have an idea for a future video. If you’re ever just bored, maybe just make a video of you just reading the codex entires in Doom Eternal. It would be fascinating to see someone like you examine the game’s lore.

@Richard HART the zapping system and the weird story got me. Overall, the story is solid, but it makes no sense that Claire and Leon are having the exact same bossfights mere minutes after each other. I think they should've made some other monster for Leon to fight, because if they were going to keep Claire and Leon separated the entire game like they did, then it just doesn't make sense for Leon to also come into contact with Birkin and for Annette to somehow die twice? I don't know, it's really weird. For Claire though, seeing as her story involves the Birkin family, it makes sense for her bossfights to be centered around him.
Under the Mayo, let me tell you that YOU ARE MY HERO, I've been so much insulted by the state of the Nemesis of the remake... that thing gave me nausea not nightmares like the original one, and I'm also told by others that I have no idea what I'm talking about... resident evil 3 Nemesis was the first game that gave me nightmares for gott sake... and I'm a resident evil mania since 0 and 1, I know what I'm talking about, thank you so much for giving me the justification of my nightmarish nostalgia... literally this is such an underrated RE game. the real only thing wrong with this game is the cut content they did a big mistake working on RE Resistance while working on this remake because it is obvious that the reason why so much content was cut is because of that flop multiplayer game. i know this game would’ve been better than 2 if they didn’t cut so much. there would’ve been way more nemesis stalking and the clock tower would’ve been the most iconic part. and the audacity to not add mercenaries mode when the original re3 gave birth to it is a crime. i personally adore this remake especially playing it on inferno but i respect people that hate it because i think that’s justified tbh capcom shouldn’t be praised for being straight up lazy and making mistakes like that.
Worst part about this game for me is that this game isn’t only a bad remake, but it’s a bad game in general.

People swear all the time, it's not a new concept, especially when you're in a difficult situation like these characters. As for the face model, what are you trying to get at? Both Nicole and Sasha fit the role of Jill perfectly. Sasha is gorgeous and Nicole played Jill so well. The only good things to come out of this were some of the amazing character designs and plenty of the scenes are really fun to watch, I really only have issue with the gameplay itself.

Now this is a god video. You made a LOT of good points. This game is probably the most guilty of the QTE mechanic. The first play through it's not so bad because everything is new, but after that you're just pressing a button so you can watch a cut scene until you get to the next actual cut scene. Every time you run into Nemesis you can just run away unless it's a boss fight, then those don't get challenging.

“Modern games feel the need to have these fake interactive opening scenes to make people feel immersed” along with the pretty graphics comment right after this is why I don’t play most modern games. I feel more immersed playing super Mario bros on the nes than I do with most modern games (I said most not all) and I think that says something about how games are made today (as well as a little bit about how I enjoy my games)
Putting a blanket like that over all modern games is just plain ignorant. There are plenty of modern games that are full of substance. The FF7 Remake for example has shown to be a brilliant remake.

I understand why there are people who like this kind of game but looking pretty is just not enough. You should remember that, You are paying for a game, if you want just a cinematic view then buy a movie and watch it.
I don’t know if it’s reaching to say that I would probably blame Last of Us for as great as it may be, spawned a generation of games that incorporated this over-reliance on cinematic pseudo-gameplay that comes off as lazy. Similar to how TDK spawned superhero films that had this ugly dark filter afterwards.

I liked how the Nemesis looked and Hunters in the Hospital. There was one time when Nemesis was chasing me and I entered the toy store with huge Mega man statue to get the bobble head but when i turned around and looked out the window i saw Nemesis just staring back at me. At no time did it try to come after me while i was in the store. The one part that i would change is when Jill offers to be the decoy for the Nemesis at the Subway station change that to where you could Jill or Carlos. If you choose Carlos then later on Jill could go to the police station.
I like that idea!
That is a great idea for a branching path.
Another one that I thought of was that you planning the train’s route could decide where it crashes and, therefore, the routes you take to reach the clocktower. That way, it could be similar to whether you jump out the window or activate the emergency brake in original RE3.
Indeed. Perhaps depending on where you stop that area could include other levels.
I think the only thing people like about this game is the ability to install nude mods.
You can do that with most games
All criticism debunked. The hate and nostalgia train ended long time ago

I hate how the higher difficulties are made for you to use the infinite weapons and not properly tweaked at all to play through them with standard rules.
This way too quickly turns into repetitive trial and error if you want to play them using normal weapons.
On the subject of "holding up", the reason a lot of these sequences are featured in games is because of the "play, don't show" design philosophy. It's like "show, don't tell" in movies. In a game, why would you show a cutscene of something, like Kratos and the tree, when the player can do it themselves? These are supposed to immerse players in the world. Two moments in Doom Eternal I didn't like were the cut scenes where you fire the BFG10k and fire the turrets in the Arc Complex because why, in a game, do I not get to fire the largest gun myself? But that's all subjective. I enjoy things like that. It's fair to dislike them too.
Unrelated, are you going to stream on Twitch (or RUclips)
"show don't tell" is about VISUALLY conveying the story instead of using dialogue. WTF is "Play, don't show"?
*"These are supposed to immerse players in the world."*
Eh, you know what immerses players into the world.... PLAYING THE GAME!
*"I enjoy things like that."*
You have horrible taste,
@@விஷ்ணு_கார்த்திக் I'm confused on two fronts.
First off, you're defending me. Yes. Those are gameplay and they are immersive because its literally the player controlling the character. So thanks?
And secondly, dude. Who hurt you? "You have horrible taste?" You sound pretty insecure in your own opinions.
@@விஷ்ணு_கார்த்திக் Oh and to the question of what is "play, don't show" its let the player play out a moment rather than watching it in a cutscene. Again, like the example I used about the BFG10k in Doom Eternal, I think a player would rather click a button to fire it themselves than watch a cutscene of it. All about player preference, my dude.
*"Control"* is an illusion, you're not in control of anything, its just a LONG Cut-Scene which is boring&tedious. It isn't "immersive" because the Controls are LIMITED, immersion happens when you're in-sync with ALL of the gameplay mechanics. Limiting control freedom takes AWAY from Immersion.
Whenever Nemesis encountered you in the old games you could Run away using multiple paths OR Fight Him, the new RE3 makes the choice for you, Jill will run in ONE straight line OR fight, its a choice made by the Game Developer than the player.
*"You sound pretty insecure in your own opinions."*
I'm just being blunt&honest here, you have a terrible taste for liking one of the WORST Modern gameplay design aspects.
Sam Striplin I agree with the other guy, but I'm not out for blood. I'm just here to tell you there is an actual best-of-both-worlds when in comes to your, "play, don't show" and it's been implemented a numbers of times. And since this discussion took place in a Resi environment, I'll use an old ass perfect example. It's from RE1 for the Ps1. The final moments when you're fighting nemesis, and the chopper drops down that beautiful rocket launcher, you (as the player) MUST line up the shot (or miss and die) and physically fire the weapon, but the game then takes over and cuts to a cinematic of the shot making its connection. A huge rewarding feeling, if I do say so myself, but what the other guy and the reviewer even are saying is that developers have tested the waters and seen what they're able to get away being lazy with and have capitalized on a half-assed spec of *PLAYING* video games and littering them with a bunch of empty, time milking content WHICH YOU CANNOT EVER!!!!-SKIP EVERRRRRR!
I understand that graphics could mean a cat's ass to a person, but personally great graphics made this game more immersive for me. Even though this was a lazy remake, not gonna lie the RE engine had me captivated the whole time. The realistic graphics and gore effects just makes the game seem more real despite all the other implausible shit. The game feeling real to me kind of overshadows the actual game mechanics or even shitty retellings of plot points. Nonetheless this game is not worth 60 dollars because it is severely lacking as a full AAA package
I'm learning unity and my first project is doing a remake of RE3 original. It's quite exiting!
You mentioned how you didn't like how Jill was handled in both this game, and RE5. I'd be really interested in hearing your thoughts about RE5 (or your views on the changes of each character in the series).
