I just brought a 2012 Tiguan before here in Estonia before watching this. 2012 2.OL TSI 155kw 210BH 4 motion with the manual transmission. Older chap and his wife have owned it from new and it’s always had official VW services, have the official vehicle history from VW with verifiable mileage of 55k miles, or 89k km here in Europe. I was worried about the timing chain issue but looking at the engine build it has the K series updated tensioner from the factory. I’m wondering should I still get the timing belt changed as a preventative measure? Everything is in immaculate condition, it’s more like a 3 year old car inside and out than an 8 year old. Any thoughts?
