Oh nice the key is to put it in between that slot I had that tool and I was just putting it underneath it. Making it break. Saw your video and show you need to put it inside that gap. Thanks

Nice and clear showing both tools. Thanks for explaining the advantage of the specialty tool even though it looks like a little more effort to snug it into the slot. It's clear why the specialty tool places less stress on the clip by not having a single pressure point.

You’re very welcome. And thanks for your feedback. I definitely try to use the cheapest or simplest tools but sometimes a specialty tool is required. I’ve also used this tool to pop many panels off the car, and also pop out some tight sensors. Very handy. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe

The battery, for a Chrysler Dodge Journey, is located inside the driver side wheel well. I broke 2 of those fasteners trying to remove the wheel well liner. Went to the Chrysler dealership to purchase replacements. Two small plastic clips cost me, with tax, just over $10.00.
So, my advice is put your money towards the purchase of the tool. You will always have it for future clip replacement.

Agreed. And you can buy replacement clips on Amazon or from most hardware stores for half the cost. Thanks for sharing. Please like and subscribe

Thanks. Those clips come in various configurations. Not all of them have a slot to help with the removal. In that instance using two screwdrivers will facilitate easier removal. A properly sized removal tool is the best way to go to protect the integrity of the clips regardless of the type of clip.

These plastic clips get filled up with dirt depending on the location. 20 years of weather will make any fastener harder to remove. This video was filmed when my car was only 4 years old. Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe
