Driving back from Natchez Ms. to Shrevport La. i heard " Every Generation " for the first time. This had to somewhere around 1980 i guess. I thought " That song is a killer. Later that day i heard " Loves Victory " I was so taken that i imediatdly went and bought the Album which was called " Every Generation " I've been a Big fan of Ronnie's and his brother Hubert. As a matter of fact their Sister Debra is incredible singer as well!
He wasn't their right complexion! The Music Industry rather hear whites playing like Blacks. Kenny G copied Ronnie Coltrane and Grover. Michael Brecker told someone he wished had been born Black. Yes you are right and it's a damn shame!
Kenny G had Clive Davis to back him up. that's how he had pop radio exposure. Since where i grew up, i didn't have R&B stations, so it took me 30 + to catch up to Ronnie Laws. So, yes, i was first spoon-fed with Kenny G. But this song, puts ALL of my Kenny G's albums in my trash bin. LOL!
