Thank you for the this video. Yesterday I saw a swarm around my yard and found dead termites on my front porch. Fortunately, I had my structures treated just two weeks ago. Your video was informative and perfect timing.
Me two I saw many dead dry wood termites alates on my nice cool porch backyard. Problem is my neighbor has logs and many logs on mus backyard I believe that’s where they come from. My house was treated 8 months ago
I have literally developed an infestation overnight in my new construction home. They are literally coming from every crack and crevasse in my home. Like door frames that were missed with calk. I’m in Houston and we have had a week or so of heavy rain and flooding so I think that is why they are here. What should I do? I’ve killed hundreds in the last hour in my brand new home.
Saw a swarm near my house this evening. First time seeing such a thing, as we’re new to the Southeast region. Yikes. But thanks for your video. Helped calm my nerves and educate me a little bit on the actual threats as well as what to look for and do moving forward.
Yes! It’s really bad during the spring in the South. We had so many swarmers last night throughout my city! Make sure to keep your porch or any outside light off on your house! Swarmers love the lights! My friend brought blackout curtains so the lights inside their house doesn’t attract it (that’s another thing no one talks about ). I also have thick curtains & so far it has help a lot (our season is from May to late June)!! My neighbors are doing these tips as well after a nightmare of swarmers season last year!
@@joseleon7444 dang! Like I was surprised to learn Cali has swarmers after seeing the graph on here. I ended up sealing the based around my light fixture (had a small gap that was letting them get in). Yeah we’re close to the 90’s down here as well & with bad rain storms 😕
@@thenightdances21 today was 93 and there were swarming in my porch. They’re not mine, they’re my neighbors. He has stump and junk wood. I was all night sealing and caulking every crack and crevice. Those things scare the living daylight out of me, I’m scared of swarmers
@@thenightdances21 I’m still going around my home and sealing any crack I see with extreme liquid nails crap. Then repaint over it with my marching can of paint to blend in. I’m paranoid . My neighbor has termites in his backyard tree stump. My wife thinks I lost it.
Thanks for the info. If I put bait around my house, will my friendly, garden lizards eat the dead bugs and get sick? I am worried about my lizzard "neighbors" and the chain of life. Please help.
No swarmers in the house. I had a liquid barrier put in 2 years ago and definitely see their damage when I remove sheetrock. Mud tubes and hollowed out wood.
How about constructing a house entirely of plywood ? I heard that plywoods already come treated with insecticides. Then paints mixed with insecticides could be used to paint the plywood house. Would this scheme suceed, in your opinion, dear Professor ? I understand that soil treatment (with insecticides) is also important.
I just layed laminate flooring over my hardwood floors 6 weeks ago. I walked into that roo. And found 50 dead on the floor. They came in thru a hole in the wall they created.

New construction home wow I thought they only about old or rotten wood.
It’s like $1000 to have the place fumigated. I would highly advise doing it.

Could Parkinson’s be caused by chloradane use
Thank God they lose their wings and get eaten or we would have a termite apocalypse. 😳
*Florida Termites: lol*

The swarmers aren't a real issue, they won't infest the home because if they dont reach the soil once airborne they will die soon .
