Picking a new interceptor up next week in this exact same colour, Cali green with lighting kit. Can’t wait. Watching your channels videos had a massive influence on my choice. Glad to see you still rate it. Also bought a load of gear from xlmoto, great prices.👍🏻 Keep up the good work.
Hi, I've had my Interceptor from new for 4 years, absolutely nothing has gone wrong. 38 thousand kilómetros. Riding the desert and coastal roads of Almeria, Spain.
Gentlemen, I purchased a 2022 RE INT 650 brand new. I've since put 8,000 miles on the bike. I live in Florida so most of my riding is on flat roads at highway speed. I do enjoy taking the bike to Cocoa Beach or upto a beach town just south of Daytona Beach for a burger and a pint. To say I'm pleased with the interceptor would be an understatement. The reliability has been fine. Just regular maintenance at the dealership. I did drop it once but at low speed so just cosmetic work was needed. I purchased a new stock exhaust system, headers and all. But the dings from my mishap are small and the replacement can wait. My bike is the Orange one chosen because it comes with tank badges and silver rims. I don't care for a blacked out rim or engine. So my version is often confused as being an older restored bike. I'm 61 years old man and gravitate towards the classics. I've participated in the Orlando DGR two years in a row. Taking one of my daughters pillion this year. Great fun and a fantastic cause. I enjoy the channel. I love seeing the old pubs an villages. That's something that Florida is lacking. But Google Pier 220 in Titusville FL. That's my local. Directly across from NASA. Live music 4 day's a week. My dog Sadie Mae and I were there last night for a bit. I've traveled a lot. I moved here from Singapore, where I was working for Deutsche bank. Well we were in Phuket for a couple months actually just before the move. I bring it up because the channel... Wait a rocket just launched, my windows are rattling. Pretty cool. Soore pubs and old towns please. Say high to your dad for me.
Am hitting 60 in Oct, and completely agree with you on having metallic colored rims and a shiny bike. Those features are a must for a classic bike. I got a used bike this week, and am getting it modified to make it look even more classic,
I don't know why Royal Enfield doesn't offer silver rims anymore for the INT650. The so-called "blacked-out" treatment and matte colors have grown tiresome. It was novel twenty years ago. Enough, already - let's go back to colors and brightwork.
I love my Interceptor. Makes me laugh with comments from Triumph owners saying mine will break down and it's rubbish. I have not had any issues . Every day when I get on it it makes me smile
Thanks for the interesting review. I really like my Interceptor, and think you are right and that it is indeed the most beautiful model of Royal Enfield and with a classic British look. I haven't had any problems with it since I started riding it, and in general eversince I bought it I hardly ever use my car.
Have been riding the Interceptor for the last 4 years and everytime I take her for a spin it always ends up reminding me why I got her in the first place. This bike literally talks to you! Absolutely brilliant!
Have had one for 5.5 years, ridden across southern India in all kinds of road conditions, everything except the tyres still pretty much OEM. Still puts a smile on my face each time I ride out.
I've spent 10s of thousands on top of the range, all singing, all dancing bikes, and at the end of the day, the Enfieled Interceptor is my favourite bike. Not something I can really put my finger on; it truly is a do it all, easy to live with, "universal" bike, which is joy to ride - absolutely love it
My beloved Interceptor 650 is 5 years old now and not a single problem except the maintenance expenses like service, tyres replacements etc. But this bike has a lot of character and even today I feel this is the best bike I’ve ever had and this bike was gifted by my dad and this is the best gift for me❤
@@kusali11 For servicing it will cost 3-4K and if you ride this bike everyday or you travel a lot then you have to think about tyres and brake pads too. So tyres gonna cost approximately 6k including fitting charges and brake pads are 5k if you are using the stock! But I use ceramic brake pads from vesrah & they cost 2800. So on a whole annual expenditure would be 10-13k
I have recently returned to motorcycling having just retired and I am the proud owner of a 2020 RE Interceptor (1500 miles). I've been away from bikes for about 10 years, and when a good friend told me he was thinking about selling his Interceptor, I jumped at the chance. I've had the bike for about 5 weeks and I love it. It's solid, lovely noise, rides well, and turns heads. I have a huge smile every time I take her out ❤
I have a RE Interceptor 08/23 Mark 2, and I haven't had a single problem with this bike. Every moment spent riding it is a real pleasure. This machine has a soul!
I have a 2021 Interceptor with 20k miles on it - this channel helped me in my decision making at the time. It's done everything from Sunday back lane rides, motorway jaunts up north and tours through the Swiss alps. Brilliant bike - still puts a smile on my face every time I ride it. A bit of affordable customisation makes it even better - new silencers, YSS front fork upgrade, plusher seat, compact levers & rear brake/gear pedals make it feel more premium - and the bike is so affordable even with these extra bits it's still cheaper than the competition. My long-time mechanic (used to work in a Triumph dealership) tells me he'd take it over a Street Twin any day (which was the bike I originally intended to buy before I tried this). Just wish I had that Cali green tank from the new range! It's a lot of fun... 👍
I have been riding the interceptor 650 for 3.5 years and rode about 30 thousand kilometres now. Its just fun with no reliably issue so far. Runs like a charm. The modern REs don't have the reliability issue of the past. If you like it then you will fall in love and if you don't then god bless you 🙏
Three months away from 4 years of owning my Interceptor and almost at 48,000ks and the only problem I have had was a slight front wobble between 77 & 86ks. Dealer found the wheel was slightly out of round. They adjusted the spokes and the problem disappeared. I also have a BMW R1200RT but still prefer the Inty. Has a S&S cam fitted and what a difference. Out of all the bikes I have owned the Inty is the best. It is a beast.
I have the Interceptor 650 Black model, all in black with a black and gold tank, and I think it's a great bike. Well made, with no pretensions of being a premium bike, and with everything you need to enjoy riding. It doesn't need traction controls or driving systems, it's pure, traditional riding, just petrol and the desire to do miles. I like Triumph but I've seen videos of people riding the Interceptor, riding in places where you would never ride a Street Twin or Bonavilleo, it's a tough and reliable bike. Greetings from Jaén (Spain).
Best colour ever for that bike. ❤ I was in Hunstanton last summer, a pile of bikes were parked up, the sole Interceptor got all the looks from the public, it's looks more like a Triumph should be than any Triumph.
Just bought an Interceptor as a second bike last Friday and getting delivery this week. Thanks for the reviews and helping with my choices gentlemen. I did test ride a few others, but the Interceptor just did it for me and at a much better price than the others.
I really love the interceptor. It was the bike that made me put a number on a goal and start saving up for it. 5 years after I already bought my bike, but it was a continental Mr. Clean. couldnt help it. Int checks all the boxes, but that conti mr clean just stole my heart and i couldnt be more happier
I have an Interceptor 650. I’ve owned a Ducati Monster 900, Yamaha FZ09, and a Harley Dyna spjust to name a few. The Enfield is by far the most fun bike I’ve ever had. I’ve never had an issue, which I can’t say for the other ones.
Wow. That's interesting. I'm currently struggling with the idea of changing from my Ducati Monster 695 for an Interceptor. I love the Ducati's handling, power and light weight but the interceptor is more attractive as a do it all bike for me. This is mainly due to luggage options (I haven't managed to find a rack for the monster that works, the tank is plastic and higher than the clocks which makes tank bags a pain) and the throttle and brake response is a bit sudden. I feel the softer nature of the Interceptor might be closer to my old T140 Bonnie, a very forgiving ride. I'm also thinking ABS might be nice as I'm still a bit hesitant in the wet as the Monster has twin four pot Brembos on bike that weighs little more than a Honda Superdream 250. I don't go a bundle on a lot of the reviews I've seen on you tube but had the chance to speak to some real world owners yesterday - both experienced rider of both Jap and Brit bikes, both liked the Interceptor and interestingly enough didn't rate the huge amount of mods that You Tube pundits say are essential (I'd got to the point of thinking I'd need an extra grand to get the bike to acceptable riding condition). This was an eye opener for me, I'd been concerned swapping from the Ducati would be something I'd come to regret big time, but now I'm feeling that with a couple of cheap changes (fork oil, handlebars) I might have something that suits me, plus having the added benefit that I can do all my own home maintenance.
I just picked up my Interceptor in the gorgeous chrome and red colour a couple of weeks ago. It’s my first ever motorcycle at the age of 36 and I’ve only ridden around 400km so far, so I can’t speak for the long term value or compare it to other brands or models, but I can say it’s just an absolute joy and pleasure to ride. Smooth and pleasant but still with plenty of personality. Stock exhausts are quite big and heavy so I might swap them out someday, but they do have a lovely tone and great pops and bangs. Overall fantastic value for money without sacrificing style or performance. As you say in the video, some details are not of the finest quality, but that gives you plenty of room to personalise your cycle and make it your own over the years, which I look forward to doing on my Interceptor. Watching your videos had a huge influence on my choice. Thank you and keep up the great work!! Cheers from Milan Italy 🇮🇹🏍️
Hi, should they pop and bang with stock exhausts etc? I'd like to know. Are you opening the throttle when you start up? Apparently this confuses the ECU. As does blipping the throttle on down changes (that's a habit I must break!)
@DirkGentley42 on start up we would not use throttle but otherwise ride as you should, including blipping the throttle on down shifts which is the correct thing to do, to help the gears engage 👍🏼
I got a 2022 one and I haven't got a single complaint to make about this bike. As Mr Darcy mentioned, it is powerful enough and it does handle really well. And it does look gorgeous. I do love it.
I absolutely love my Interceptor - bought new in 2019 & after 12,000 miles in spring/summer with only one breakdown (voltage regulator), covered under the warranty with recovery service back home & then to local dealer. It's the bike I always promised myself.
Agreed totally. For the price, the looks, the rideability, and the ease of maintenance. The Enfield takes a lot of beating . Yes, it is made to a price ,but then even BMWs, Kawasakis, etc, have lots of plastic yet cost over double the price
Bought one a couple of weeks ago in chrome & black tank, perfect bike for a do it all bike ,plenty of torque & fast enough to be fun without breaking the limit too much😂
I was so Happy with my Classic 350 ( not 1 single issue in 2 years and 10.000 km) that I decided to upgrade my Royal Enfield to a Canyon Red Interceptor. The only reason fiorvthat was to have a bit more power available when riding the Italian fast highways! Up with Royal Enfield!!!
I have a 2022 Canyon Red Interceptor that I bought from new and I still absolutely love it and I have no plans to replace it any time soon. That being said, I have upgraded some of the parts, such as the levers and pedals, to more premium alternatives but these upgrades are more for the looks than for the function. The bike is great straight out of the showroom. Like you guys I still believe that it is the best looking of the Royal Enfield 650 options and that it still represents great value in 2024. Here's to many more miles and smiles. Great review guys and I love the way you interact in your videos. Long may it continue.
I have just bought one, from a Canterbury dealership, a pre '23 model (halogen headlights and no USB) registered March '24 with 568 miles for about the price you mentioned and 2 years and 9 months warranty. It has bar end mirrors, lovely although a nuisance if manoeuvring the bike into tight corners, a tall fly screen and Red Rooster cans, lovely crackle sound. I have a 31" inside leg and find that I have to be very careful where I decide to stop. I can flat foot it but If I am trying to push it backwards it really needs to be a little lower. I will be fitting TEC Bikes lowering shock absorbers over the next few days and should reduce the seat height by about 2". It is a lovely bike to ride, but the side stand allows it to settle over quite a bit and takes quite a push to get it upright. It does handle very well and has more than enough power for someone who is approaching 69 years.
ive had everything over the years...58 now... never was much of a race rep fan... i now enjoy a quiet backroad with wife on pillion.. recently got the barcelona blue 650 with mag wheels and the newer controls.. led headlight which is bloody good... this bike is soo pleasant to chug along enjoying the scenery..it has plenty power to pass cars even with passenger..and we are both heavy.. the engine kinda de-stresses me in exactly the same way a Harley does.. with uk speed limits comin down..this bike is perfect for cruising a carefully selected coastal route.. no pressure whatsoever to go fast.. suprised me how much im enjoying this
I have the same bike, it doesn't have any of those fancy things or ride settings and all but is still cool . It's a bit heavy and feels so while navigating through tight spots or traffic jams. I take it out once in week . There is no need for frequent reviews, people who buy it know it is worth the money.
I've got a 2024 interceptor in cali green and I've put a enfield precision exhaust on it and it now sounds mega love it I've always had flag ship sports bikes in the past but I've got to say my interceptor is the best bike I've had love it
I've been riding my sonorous beauty, the Interceptor in gorgeous red, for over 2 years now. After more than 10.000 kilometers I have changed an H4 lamp and the second set of tires (Bridgestone BT-46): That's all so far. - Oh yes, there is indeed a defect, the reflectors on the fork have fallen off (fortunately in the yard). What is there to criticize and improve? Nothing really, just the way this beautiful bike comes from the factory - just ride it and enjoy it. I have replaced the fork springs (YSS) for high demands (I can recommend them) and will also upgrade the shock absorbers for sporty riding and with pillion and luggage... A word about the power, if I'm honest, that was the biggest doubt, whether “only” 48hp would be enough for me, beginner's moped? After all, I still have a 120hp bike in my garage... Now it's the case that this “small” classic bike has replaced my mega-horsepower bike. So simple, easy to handle - yes, and I would argue that the bike definitely has forward momentum, that 48 hp can be a kind of sweet spot (for me, mind you - ok-but I've gotten old...). I think that such classically styled motorcycles Twins of the “British school” are forever desirable (opinion of an old man, >40 years of riding experience). Greetings to all bikers, always have a good ride!
great bike! i use it as my daily here in madrid. i have the same green colored one and with the brown touring bench seat it looks stunning! i added a luggage rack too. no problem doing 2 up. great bike no issues. mine is a euro 5 bike and runs lean from factory (not RE´s fault) so i give it about 300 extra rpms at a stop. overall great bike!
I found this channel 2 years ago. Doing research on the interceptor 650. My plan is that next year I will buy one. It will be my first street motorcycle.
Awesome bikes! I’ve had so many bikes over the years, GS1200, BMW S1000R, Honda CB1000R and many more. The interceptor is my first bike that I haven't bought brand new and also the least powerful BUT it has become my favourite bike and the one I do the most miles on. Plenty enough power (for me anyway) great fuel economy and such a great engine with regards to its power delivery. I’ve also never had a bike that attracts so much positive attention. Keep up the good work guys.
Hi! Absolutely true, Interceptor is a true blue evergreen retro 650 Parallel twin , I have the 2023 and the newly launched 2024 both and with RRP performance, they can be quick as hell and if one wants one can have a relaxed cruise …. In fact I am also a big fan of the GT, Super Meteor and the Shotgun, all of them at their price points are gems to treasure
This, to me, is the most complete bike. Good for city, highways, laid back riding and even for thrashing around. I might be buying the Guerilla to pair with my Classic 350 but I will wait for a few more months to see how the Guerilla lasts.
Absolutely ❤ my Interceptor & will never sell it. The motorcycle is a work of art and the way it makes you feel when you ride it is amazing. Owned it for over 2 years and it’s never missed a beat. If I ever got another bike it would be an additional one as my Interceptor is staying. 👊😎👍
Sorry Old man, But the build quality is Every bit as good as Any Triumph, For Sure, The Gear Change is Brilliant, I've owned my 2021 Interceptor from new, absolutely no issues whatsoever, Great bikes to service yourself as well 👍 I also own a Royal Enfield Hunter 350, Which is also brilliant, and easy to service yourself,. I've been riding motorcycles for over 50 years now, and these bikes are simply the Best 👍 Cheers Paul.
I've put 2000 miles on my 2023 INT (USA name for Interceptor) with no issues. Not a lot of miles, but so far so good. I have followed the "run-in" procedure and maintenance schedule. Good run-about in town and will handle highway speeds. Thanks for the review Mr. D, nice job. One upgrade I would recommend is to put the newer controls on the older interceptors (throttle, and hand controls). I have the new controls on my Classic 350 Signals addition and they are far superior to what I have on the 2023 INT.
Greetings from across the pond. Another balanced and well-done review. Thanks. As I consider getting back on two wheels, the Interceptor and V7 are top of my list. I am looking forward to seeing your comparison. Cheers!
@davemitchell3998 Thanks for the input. Clearly a nicer ride. But... Locally, I can currently purchase a leftover new 2022 650INT for less than half the price of the 2024 V7. So it's a question of incremental value I'm trying to suss out.
I've had my Baker Express RE Interceptor for 4 years now and ridden about 18000km with no issues and still loving it. I use it almost everyday for commuting and weekend rides. I also have a Husqvarna Norden 901 which gives me a thrill but I get more pleasure from the Interceptor. So easy to work on as well. I've added TEC header pipes and exhausts and a DNA air filter and she feels like she has more than enough power to keep up with bigger and more powerful bikes.
Yes, I still have mine after 5 years, not too many miles as I also have a 1200RT. But the one thing you mentioned, well two, actually, was the lack of noise and some might say - short on performance/power. I have added the DNA Air Filter, and later on for more noise and performance, the Enfield Precision Exhausts - purchased from/through Hitchcocks. It certainly has changed the bike's character and performance - including improved economy!
Owned my Interceptor from new in 2019. Needed a replacement starter relay early on and I needed to change the seat and fit bar risers to get comfort right. Brake callipers, front and rear, replaced under a product recall. I do all my own servicing including valve clearance checks, pretty straightforward. Plenty of power for my requirements. I Wouldn’t change it now for any other bike. Highly recommended all round bike.
I have owned an Interceptor for 3 years, 20,000 miles no issues, rides better every time I take it out 80+ mpg. I also run a Triumph Bonneville 900, lovely bike I enjoy them both. If I could only keep one it would be a very hard decision.
I've put 8000 miles on my 2022 Interceptor and I love it as much today as the day as it was delivered. I like the budget nature on the components, as I don't feel bad about replacing them with parts more to my taste! The single biggest improvement is free flowing pipes and silencers. That makes a huge difference. The cheap looking lights and indicators are easy to replace. As are the levers and pedals.
I’ve ridden all the RE models and the Interceptor 650 is my favourite. I switched the original exhausts for AEW ones and they sound amazing! DNA air filter, bar end mirrors and a more comfortable, wider touring seat made all the difference. Can ride this bike all day long.
I've become a bit of a Royal Enfield fan, I bought a himi as a daily ride to work bike, its over 3 years old now, will no problems. And it's ridden all year round. On the back of the himi I bought a 650 continental 2 years ago as and weekend toy, I've fitted a tec stinger exhaust and dna filter and geared it up. The 650 is such a good fun bike on B roads you can wring out the engine and use all the power unlike 1000cc sports bikes.
I bought my interceptor new 18 months ago, both wheel hubs corroded in 700 miles/2 months. I've done 2500 miles now and eml & abs lights have come on today. I've got new wheels and tyres under warranty and apart from that it's a very enjoyable ride and bike to own for a few years
I have one down here in Brazil and love it. Perfect to get by in the city and also for touring in the roads. In the near future planning to buy a Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro but I will be keeping my Interceptor also because it is just a very good ride.
Great bike for a Sunny Sunday trundle, bought mine second hand, the first purchase was a second-hand front fender extension that had been removed👍 all about how it makes you feal when riding not, speed or horsepower.
Still love my Interceptor after a year of ownership. A big advantage they have over (some) Triumph models is the sheer ease of availability of factory standard spares and aftermarket parts to maintain and customise these bikes at reasonable expense. Just look at the hassle poor old Freddie Dobbs had trying to get hold of a head gasket for his Bonnie. Absurd. With RE’s volume of 650 twin production, owners will have zero issues getting anything they need for these bikes for many years to come. I wouldn’t feel so confident about Triumph and lots of other manufacturers in that regard.
I picked up a 21 model Conti gt late last year with 2000kms on it with sc project pipes and air cleaner already installed, I’ve since fitted the s and s big bore and cam as well as a Barnett clutch, the fully adjustable front and rear yss suspension rs tech belt drive kit as well as a few cosmetic changes. I love it, so mush I rode it in the wet and crashed it haha but it’s hopefully going to be ready for the nice weather that’s about to start rolling in and I can’t wait to get back out on the road with it. With all the mods I fitted my self and drilled the dampers for how I wanted it to ride and it’s just a completely new bike, and now it has the added bonus of being able to easily keep up with my friends and family who ride Harley’s and sports bikes. All up I spent around 13k aud and I think it’s worth every penny for how much it made a nice bike an excellent one.
The engine could do with a few more BHP, my back brake stopped working (needing bleeding for some reason) and the ignition switch sometimes fails to light the clocks to start it. And mine has the not so nice looking black rims…..not quite so traditional. But overall it looks brilliant, is great and easy to ride, and it just feels good to be on it. I am lucky to have to have another faster machine but no point comparing them, they both have different things going for them. I had been thinking way back would n’t it be great if Triumph could make a new 650 twin and then the Interceptor came along. Well done RE. And I am sure there are many happy Triumph owners out there as well. It’s all good. Stay safe.
I bought my Interceptor 650 a little over a year ago. I chose it over the Mash Six Hundred 650, because I prefer the look of the Interceptor's engine, especially it's right hand side. :) For me, it was essential (!) to make changes for comfort: To open my knee angle, I moved the footpegs and their controls forward. For an upright riding position, I changed the handlebar for one with elevated grips and greater pullback (shorter reach; longer cables needed). To make them easier to hold, I swapped the grips themselves for fatter ones. Luggage was another essential for me and so it now has a rear rack and hard side panniers too (made room by changing silencers for level peashooters). Also, I use a small magnetic tank bag. There are more modifications that improved my bike. For example, a Fuel-X plug and play add-in, which it needed to fix the frequent stalling. What a shame that my Interceptor has developed a fault. According to the onboard Euro 5 level computer, it's right cylinder is misfiring. After some investigating and a variety of trial-and-error attempts to fix it (for example, replaced faulty sparkplug cap), I have yet to succeed to keep the engine warning symbol from illuminating (and for it to run with more than half power). Finally, the dealer, who sold me my Interceptor 650 last year, said, that, because I have made modifications and it is no longer original, I have voided the warranty and (!) that he was legally not permitted to work on it. Which is odd. but I had an uneasy feeling about him anyway, and guess, I got away lightly... ! :) In summary: a less than perfect, relatively cheap motorcycle, made to look nice
Bought my Interceptor in April 2024 (Mark 2 Chrome) for £5,700 brand new. Great value for what it is and how it performs and looks. 1250 miles so far without a single problem.
The interceptor is definitely the nicest of the three, Darcy is correct it’s the best representation of old school British bikes I’m still holding off waiting on the classic 650 I hear rumors about I purchased a classic 350 3 weeks ago already have almost 1200 miles on it my other bikes are getting neglected lol Good video as always Thanks
I have the same situation: have owned RE 350 Classic for a year now. In our country we can drive only 5 months a year, that's the summer time. But still I have gathered some 6200 miles with my 350 Classic. What a bike this little wonder is, my other bike is probably quite jealous spending time in a garage..
Don't worry, you won't have to wait for much longer, leaks have suggested the classic 650 will launch this Diwali (Indian festival 1st of Nov). And the launch will be global.
With its parallel twins, RE has opened up access to many motorcycle lovers, new and old, to classic style motorcycles with a lot of heritage from the brand. In my country, RE is the second manufacturer in sales, first Honda, but very close indeed, largely thanks to the Interceptor. Very clear review. If you haven't done it yet, a comparison with the GT would be good. Greetings!
I did a test ride on both the Interceptor and the Classic 350 today. Not totally convinced yet on which to choose. I know the Ol' Man love both. I'm a bit more prone to the Classic 350 as I'll be using it on heavy traffic, and i clicked with it a bit more. Would love to watch a revisit at the Classic 350 as well. Cheers!
Might I add, if you're not in a hurry, the Classic 650/Bullet 650 launch is nearby and should be unveiling soon. So if you're not in a hurry, could be worthwhile to wait!
@@HunterVlog350cc Hunter is a fun little urban commuter that pairs the heaps of torque well with the 17 inch front wheel. However, the suspension is very inferior to the likes of Classic and Interceptor, and the gearbox is clunkier compared to the rest of the 350s, not to mention the very hard clutch. Someone looking to choose between the Inty/Classic is probably not considering a Hunter for the same reasons as I had described.
@@MOONRIO i agree on the shortcomings but if you wish to pierce through the sea of traffic with easy manuvoring no other enfield squeezes through like hunter so it is strictly for heavy indian traffic
I've had mine for 5 years and I still look forward to riding to work on it!!! I prefer riding elsewhere obviously but..... needs must. I have the Tec 2:1 exhaust so it sounds wonderful. The suspension isn't the best, given I'm 200 pounds the forks dive a little. Clearly I can change springs, oil etc when I bother to do it. Rear brake needs constant attention but heh, rear brake. Apart from the mirrors, the rest is great and I have no plans to get rid of it.
Had my interceptor 3 years now bought from new and absolutely love the bike only thing done to it is a new back tyre but you expect that anyway certainly wont be parting with it any time soon. Oh and for any detractors not a spot of even surface rust.
I purchased that specific model (in green) a few months ago-and I love it. This RE replaced a Hunter 350 which I liked a lot but was not suitable for my commute (60 miles RT). The 650 is great on the highway and still fun on the twisty roads near San Francisco
Excelente información, mi maquina 2020 no le ha dolido nada, solo le he cambiado bateria y aceite, buen mantenimiento y no pienso cambiarla en un buen tiempo más. Saludos
I have meteor 350. I will tell you what , its so fun to Royal Enfield bikes. Especially I love the sound of the Royal Enfield bikes. Its better than Harley and Triumph.
The old man sure is particular and fussy on the details of the bike, I bet he picked the curtains and the paint colors in the house. Haha ! 😆 actually I love a well built motorcycle as well. I have a Speed Twin 900 and a GS 1250. My brother just bought a T100. Im seriously considering trading the GS for a T100 or T120 for the type of riding I do now. Great Channel ! 👍
Had my Continental GT for three years now, I’m a mature rider and don’t do all that many miles but have loved the experience of owning it. I must admit to being disappointed with the bike at first in the handling department (I expected it to steer like the old school Triumphs I used to ride) but the fitting of a YSS fork kit, Hagon rear shocks and Avon Roadrider tyres have solved that problem. I think the engine, gearbox and clutch are sublime, they all work together so well, but I think the thing that pleases me most is the way it looks and nearly everyone I meet seems to agree. All in all a great bike.
I had the interceptor and was a good bike. I parted company after 12 months and got a Guzzi V7 special. The Guzzi is a much more powerful bike and overtaking is much easier. The Enfield will keep up with traffic but it lacks that bit of extra pull that I like from my style of riding. I also found the interceptor seat uncomfortable and had to upgrade it, whilst the Guzzi seat is comfortable in stock form. That said the Guzzi is around £2k more expensive so that needs to be taken into consideration. Nothing wrong with either bike, it’s just personal preference.
Awesome enjoy it when it arrives 👍🏼
Lighting kit, aftermarket or from RE, as no such kit is being offered by RE in India?
@@1234fazermann we have led indicator and fog lamps for all 650 models in the website. It is been their for a while now.
Enjoy the beautiful motorcycle bro.. it's my dream bike too ❤ and that choice of colour is great.
Hi, I've had my Interceptor from new for 4 years, absolutely nothing has gone wrong. 38 thousand kilómetros. Riding the desert and coastal roads of Almeria, Spain.
respect
Have a 2020 Int and a Himalayan.. thought I'd ride both, sell one and keep the one I liked best..
4 yrs later and I'm still undecided. 😃
You watch, it'll do 100,000 with regular maintenance.
@@paulgutierrez1189 59'000km on my 411, sounds better than new, only oil and valves and consumables
Have you adjust the valves, yet?? Or every how many km? And how about the wobble at the front end at high speeds?
Gentlemen,
I purchased a 2022 RE INT 650 brand new.
My local mechanic has two makes he can’t stand. Triumph and BMW. Also had two mates with awful problems with new Triumphs. Put me off completely
@dbharrold I am.planning a ride out on mine tomorrow. Either round Rutland Water, or down the Fosseway to Bourton on the Water
Retro motorcycle + country roads.= Therapy
Have had one for 5.5 years, ridden across southern India in all kinds of road conditions, everything except the tyres still pretty much OEM. Still puts a smile on my face each time I ride out.
I've spent 10s of thousands on top of the range, all singing, all dancing bikes, and at the end of the day, the Enfieled Interceptor is my favourite bike. Not something I can really put my finger on; it truly is a do it all, easy to live with, "universal" bike, which is joy to ride - absolutely love it
Great to hear 👍🏼
My beloved Interceptor 650 is 5 years old now and not a single problem except the maintenance expenses like service, tyres replacements etc. But this bike has a lot of character and even today I feel this is the best bike I’ve ever had and this bike was gifted by my dad and this is the best gift for me❤
If I may ask how much is maintenance on this, yearly?
I have a huge smile every time I take her out ❤
Your complaints about front fenders in any bike are definetly your brand signature. Nice videos guys, really love your reviews.
Hi. Did you do anything else or just the cam? is yours a euro 4 or 5 model?
@DirkGentley42 euro 4 and just the fam as it has made a world of difference, so I don't need any other mods.
Brand new (old stock) Sunset Strip Interceptor delivered to my house for £4999. That’s awesome value. Just got to run it in now.
Had my Interceptor for 3 years not one problem, and definitely a keeper.
Awesome, enjoy 👍🏼
I understand others bikes like V7 and all, but there is something retro and feel good about this bike.
This is so true. Something special and historical. :)
For me, the Contintal G T is the best looker.
Absolutely love mine. 44,000 k, trouble free, save the greece in the relays.
respect
I immediately put a TEC 2-1 stinger exhaust and DNA filter and that mfr sounds good af. Best bike Ive ever had.
ik heb al 4 jaar een interceptor en ben super tevreden. Rijdt fantastisch en veel motor voor weinig geld. Mooie motor en sound...
I have owned an interceptor for 3yrs done about 4000miles without any issues love as much if not more than when I bought it
I just picked up my Interceptor in the gorgeous chrome and red colour a couple of weeks ago.
Bought one a couple of weeks ago in chrome & black tank, perfect bike for a do it all bike ,plenty of torque & fast enough to be fun without breaking the limit too much😂
came for Interceptor review, stayed for the Nat Geo segment at 7:24.
Real dials! Love it .
Great to hear 👍🏼
Finally : this one has real mudguards!
I've got a 2024 interceptor in cali green and I've put a enfield precision exhaust on it and it now sounds mega love it I've always had flag ship sports bikes in the past but I've got to say my interceptor is the best bike I've had love it
Its the best bike you can own, specially with few mods such as seat and exhaust. I always look forward to taking mine out.
Belt drive conversion is terrific - smooth and quiet - no more oiling chain 😊
great bike! i use it as my daily here in madrid. i have the same green colored one and with the brown touring bench seat it looks stunning! i added a luggage rack too. no problem doing 2 up. great bike no issues. mine is a euro 5 bike and runs lean from factory (not RE´s fault) so i give it about 300 extra rpms at a stop. overall great bike!
Most comfortable RE twin i would say. Good for touring both in onroad and trails.
I've got a 22 Interceptor and love it, great bike
I love my 2023 Interceptor! First bike for me, absolutely amazing experience to ride! (I have the same 'Cali Green' colorway)
they got the design so right. it’s gorgeous. the only thing id change would be the stock seat. that green is my fav colour
I bought a GT new in Sept 2021. It has been a fantastic bike. I’m 5’8” so the GT is a perfect fit.
Bought a new one in March and I love it. Does everything I want of it and it makes me smile, a lot.
@@arthurramm8664 awesome to hear 👍🏼
I have a 2022 model and just love it! Its a keeper for me. I have modified it sure but what a bike for the price. Thanks for posting!
Hi had mine 5 years no real problems.looking at riding from Yorkshire to Italy next month so I have very confidence in it.
Sorry Old man,
But the build quality is Every bit as good as Any Triumph, For Sure,
The Gear Change is Brilliant,
I've owned my 2021 Interceptor from new, absolutely no issues whatsoever,
Great bikes to service yourself as well 👍
I also own a Royal Enfield Hunter 350,
Which is also brilliant, and easy to service yourself,.
I've been riding motorcycles for over 50 years now, and these bikes are simply the Best 👍
Cheers Paul.
I love this color and this bike. Darcy, I see that you've gotten some new ink...
Greetings from across the pond. Another balanced and well-done review. Thanks. As I consider getting back on two wheels, the Interceptor and V7 are top of my list. I am looking forward to seeing your comparison. Cheers!
V7 every time
I'm biased ... but get the V7 🙃
@zaphodbeeblebrox4574
Thanks for the advice, and don't forget your towel.
@davemitchell3998
Thanks for the input. Clearly a nicer ride. But... Locally, I can currently purchase a leftover new 2022 650INT for less than half the price of the 2024 V7. So it's a question of incremental value I'm trying to suss out.
@@archaeoastro Where from across the pond are you ?. Towels aside, the value proposition is the Royal Enfield.
I have a Signals Marsh Grey Classic 350, but there isn't a bike in the Royal Enfield lineup that I wouldn't be happy to own!
Good to hear 👍🏼
I love the overall tone and nature of your videos!
Great to hear 👍🏼
Yes, I still have mine after 5 years, not too many miles as I also have a 1200RT. But the one thing you mentioned, well two, actually, was the lack of noise and some might say - short on performance/power. I have added the DNA Air Filter, and later on for more noise and performance, the Enfield Precision Exhausts - purchased from/through Hitchcocks. It certainly has changed the bike's character and performance - including improved economy!
My first proper bike had it from basically new after test riding a few bikes. I fell I love with it. No problems with it so far fingers crossed.
That speaks volumes in itself. Thanks.
I always look at these and promise myself one day.....In that green its got me more tempted
Had a new orange 22 plate Interceptor. Still regret selling it, once had a woman cross over the road to tell me how beautiful my bike was 😊
I've put 8000 miles on my 2022 Interceptor and I love it as much today as the day as it was delivered. I like the budget nature on the components, as I don't feel bad about replacing them with parts more to my taste! The single biggest improvement is free flowing pipes and silencers. That makes a huge difference. The cheap looking lights and indicators are easy to replace. As are the levers and pedals.
5000 UK miles on an Orange Crush. TEC Cannon pipes. It's all I need. It's all I want.
I’ve ridden all the RE models and the Interceptor 650 is my favourite. I switched the original exhausts for AEW ones and they sound amazing! DNA air filter, bar end mirrors and a more comfortable, wider touring seat made all the difference. Can ride this bike all day long.
You need to remap with new exhaust and air filter ?
What a gorgeous looking bike! Manifesting I'll own one someday. 🙏
For me, it was essential (!) to make changes for comfort:
To open my knee angle, I moved the footpegs and their controls forward.
In summary: a less than perfect, relatively cheap motorcycle, made to look nice
Thanks to your videos I will get the A2 just for getting the interceptor
Bought my Interceptor in April 2024 (Mark 2 Chrome) for £5,700 brand new. Great value for what it is and how it performs and looks. 1250 miles so far without a single problem.
Awesome 😊
Did u changed the wheels into tubeless?
No, still original wheels and tyres.@@jonathansuparta3194
The interceptor is definitely the nicest of the three, Darcy is correct it’s the best representation of old school British bikes
I’m still holding off waiting on the classic 650 I hear rumors about
I purchased a classic 350 3 weeks ago already have almost 1200 miles on it my other bikes are getting neglected lol
Good video as always
Thanks
I have the same situation: have owned RE 350 Classic for a year now. In our country we can drive only 5 months a year, that's the summer time. But still I have gathered some 6200 miles with my 350 Classic. What a bike this little wonder is, my other bike is probably quite jealous spending time in a garage..
Don't worry, you won't have to wait for much longer, leaks have suggested the classic 650 will launch this Diwali (Indian festival 1st of Nov). And the launch will be global.
@@shree397 good to hear I’m looking forward to seeing it
That bike looks great in person 😮😮😮
With its parallel twins, RE has opened up access to many motorcycle lovers, new and old, to classic style motorcycles with a lot of heritage from the brand. In my country, RE is the second manufacturer in sales, first Honda, but very close indeed, largely thanks to the Interceptor. Very clear review. If you haven't done it yet, a comparison with the GT would be good. Greetings!
A great looking bike. I rode one in Italy last year. Very British I would say. :) Got my like here. It was no. 999. :)
It looks better than the new Classic in my opinion.
Cheers!
We have a revisit of a Bullet 350 coming soon which is essentially the same 👍🏼
Might I add, if you're not in a hurry, the Classic 650/Bullet 650 launch is nearby and should be unveiling soon. So if you're not in a hurry, could be worthwhile to wait!
heavy traffic is dealt well by Hunter 350 but i rode a bullt 350 too today and think it is more upright
I’ve several bikes (africa dct , classic gs , 4 cyl. Yamaha Naked . But I’m in love with my interseptor . İt is my precious
I am considering a V7, they look perfect for me
