    For all of that labor including the intake, it sounds about right. $45.00 is very reasonable. Most places out this way are charging $70.00-$90.00/Hr. Hope this helps you out.

    I have a 1993 Concorde with the 3.5L and the procedure is basically the same. This video helped out a lot for changing my water pump. Thank you for this. Didn't want to spend $400 to replace a $30 part lol. I didn't have to take out the radiator though, just the fan assembly and had plenty of room and saved a lot of time.

      I have a quick question. I did this repair last weekend and the car drove perfectly until Wednesday. I turned the car off like normal but now it just cranks and doesn't start up. I'm not getting spark or electricity to the injectors. I swapped the cam and crank sensors with aftermarket and still not starting up but I'll try OEM ones soon. Have you ran into this happening with this engine before? I figure if the timing slipped, it would still start up, just run rough. I had no symptoms of any issues before turning the car off. Fuel pump is good and getting upper 50s psi at the rails. Auto shutdown relay? PCM? :s

    • @ismann9148
      @ismann9148 7 лет назад

      I think I found out the issue. The fuses look good but the crank sensor connector's tab is broken. I'm guessing it was stuck on there some how and eventually came lose. Though the CEL isn't throwing a code 11 with it plugged in or disconnected, but the cam sensor does throw a code 54 with the sensor unplugged. How would I go about replacing the crank sensor connector? Are they sold anywhere and I could just splice it in or do I need a whole harness?

    • @ismann9148
      @ismann9148 7 лет назад +2

      I fixed it. My driver's side cam sprocket slipped a bit. It was off by two teeth. I tightened it pretty good this time. I thought I might have tightened it too much because of the ticking noise it makes after starting it up but I see yours does the same, so I guess I'm good.

    @hondaslave Exhaust stroke you will not feel any pressure on your hand as the air can escape through the exhaust valve(s). Compression stroke you will feel pressure on your hand. When you know you have TDC after #1 compression stroke, and then line up the cam timing marks.

    the kits we provide include the gasket as well. There really should be minimal gasket sealer if any used when installing a water pump.

  • @1AAuto
    @1AAuto  12 лет назад

    The easiest way to do this is to let the car warm up with the heat blasting and the radiator cap off. When the air pockets work their way out of the system you can top it off with more antifreeze until the fluid level stays up.

    I want to thank you for showing how to adjust a timing mark that's a little off after pulling tensioner pin. At about 6:20 into your video, you merely loosened the tensioner some - removed belt; then adjusted cam pulley to align marks. Everywhere else on youtube you are told you must pull the tensioner off and put in a vise to push the tensioner shaft all the way back in, then reinstall grenade pin. What a hassle that is.

    @003Mexicano It will not matter if your car is an interference engine as long as you are REPLACING the belt. There is only a problem if you break your belt. Check out my videos on replacing a belt on a Toyota Tundra, that is an interference engine. You will see that the basic steps of changing The belt are similar.

    The water pump is different between the two. The mount flange is different as well as the bolts holding it in place.

    Hi,
    I'm in the UK..... I have just brought a 1994 Chrysler eagle vision, which is also a 3.5L V6 Auto, which I'm sure is the same engine, as in your video. I'm just waiting on delivery, as the car is coming down from Scotland. Changing the timing belt is a job i'd like to do on the car, as the last owner isn't sure when it was done, as it was imported over here back in 2001. if all above is right, I will follow this on when doing the belt, and change the water pump at the same time. thanks

    Heads up guys!
    I have my 1997 LHS tore apart in the garage right now, and I ordered the Dayco timing belt/water pump kit from Advance Auto, wrong pump. I also ordered a Murray kit from O'Riley, I had the same issue with both kits, the wrong water pump! It appears that the kit with the correct pump is no longer available. Imagine that? At least I have not been able to find one on the internet.
    What I did find is that the 1999 3.5L motors use this 6 hole pump, so I ordered one. And I did cross reference the numbers, it is said to fit the 1997 3.5L and 1999+ So, we should be good. I will keep the Dayco kit and will use the 3 hole pump as a paper weight.
    I hope this helps someone.

    So, to avoid having that tooth be off by one, would rotating the cam sproket a 1/2 to 1 tooth past the 2nd dot help? since installing the tensionor probably caused the cam sproket on the left to rotate back a tic.

    The left dot on the left cam pulley should aligned to the right dot because the tensioner will move the dot one tooth. That is why the mechanic had to reposition the belt by one tooth. It is caused by the slack that can't be tightened except by the tensioner.

    NOT OK.....READ THIS COMMENT !!!!!!!!!............{1} Are you sure that intrepid is VIN-F = 95-97 3.5L ?..........{2} BECAUSE you obviously installed a 98-04 six bolt water pump. NOT a 95-97 three bolt water pump...........{3} THIS MATTERS A LOT, because the timing belts ARE DIFFERENT TOOTH COUNT......98-04 = 201 teeth/ 95-97 = 202 teeth/ 93-94 = 200 teeth...........{4} The different belt teeth are to account for the different water pump pulley sizes.......!!!!!!!!!!
