      Hey Neil, you're definitely not alone in your quest for learning guitar "later" in life. In fact, I have had students in their 80's, so you still have lots of time to master this beautiful instrument. It is so nice to hear that my videos are able to help you. I do offer some premium courses as well and they come with an online community with others the same age as you. You might feel less alone there in it all! Just a thought! All the best, James www.goodguitaristcourses.com/store

    Awesome loved this, so easy and quick to learn. Practicing at 2:00 a.m. with the light of my iPad and picking so I can barely hear it so I don’t wake my husband. Can’t wait to play it for him in the morning.

      How did it go?

      @@Good_Guitarist lol a little underwhelming but not terrible, it turns out I don’t play as well in front of people, if I strum it I can go faster but can’t change chords as fast trying to remember the finger picking at the same time.

    I have been strumming this for a few years now. I am really happy to find such an easy finger pattern to add to my repertoire.

      Hey Farquar, yes, it's nice to be able to switch it up a bit. There's so much you can do with only one song.

    I already knew the chords and the pattern, so I learnt the song in no time at all and could play along with you. Thank you, James!

    Finger picking is pleasant to listen but it will take time to learn. Thanks a lot for uploading this video.

      Hi Nirmala, yes, it takes a bit to get the hang of it to have it played evenly. stay on track and you'll get there.

    Hi James great tutorial. I know you probably get asked for requests all the time but I would love a tutorial on Helpless by Neil Young, one of my all time faves.

    Absolutely fabulous. I told you that you could sing.
    Your instructional technique is second to none.
    Would you mind sharing the model of the Craftsman guitar you are playing on.

      Ha! You were right! It's a Crafter guitar, it's quite old and they don't make the same model anymore...

      I meant to say Crafter. Anyway, I’ve just played and sang happy birthday to my wife. Without you, I couldn’t have done it. Thank you.🎸🎸

    Looking forward to the tabs. I have to follow print to learn!

      @Good_Guitarist  Год назад

      Hey Mike, I wish I could offer them, but unfortunately it's super illegal to have them in a file ready to print. I have offered full playthroughs on my Patreon instead, and am still looking for ways that I can facilitate learning without stepping on any copyright feet.

    James why are some teachers using tab reversed from the way you teach it? You always make it simple and easy to learn.

      Hey, I'm not too sure... I am certain I do it the traditional way. Maybe post-internet people started doing it the other way?
