It’s insane that instead of using ai to do the menial tasks or for business or something, like most movies predicted, we instead used it to take over art, the one thing we have as humans
I think it is the way you do it. Neuro-sama, the AI made by Vedal987 has some of the most entertaining and off the wall interactions I have ever seen and Vedal puts a lot of work in keeping it entertaining. Defiitely isn't soulles like Kwebbelkop may be.
Yeah, maybe it because they are cleary showing that its Ai and not hiding the truth. And some people really want to watch Ai content for being an Ai content
And you can tell immediately that its AI, not saying it isn't entertaining but if more neuro samas start popping up they are gonna get old reaaally fast.
@@beta2029 Don't think its gonna be hidden as much as we won't be able to tell in the future. the concearn for me isn't if its soulless or not, mor if the information is accurate or not and the flood of videos just oversaturate the market..
What about Neuro-sama? Her brand is that she is AI and she can be jank, not trying to replace a person. And the creator Vedal is such a nice guy. She is geneuinely fun to watch, and she collabs with a lot of other streamers. There's exceptions.
The difference is likely in the execution... Vedal is active in the process and is having fun together with the chat. Where as kwebbelkop wants to be replaced and get all the work done with AI, and get easy money... Im not saying Vedal is perfect but you can feel the soul and hard work that vedal have put in to neuro.
AI is inevitable. And it will inevitably do everything we do but better. That includes making media. There will come a day when people look back on Shakespeare and Tolkien as amateurs compared to the works of our singularity inspired AI.

Neuro sama has a set personality programmed into her. Plus there is an actual person behind her. The fun in neuro sama is seeing how this AI interacts with chat and it’s creator, something I doubt AI “influencers” will all have. Plus her charm is how unhinged she is due to being an AI and the random tangents she goes on.
As someone who is trying really hard to get published as an author. It really is insulting to see how publishers try to undercut the writers by just having AI write stuff for them, then have the editors pour hundreds of hours editing that crap. Tough times are ahead us for us creatives and it will only get tougher from here. Sadly.
kinda the same here. I'm not even at that stage yet. I want to become an author and an illustrator, but with how things are going and how sh*tty companies are, I might have to reconsider. I'll prob still take courses related to that in college tho
Same. I can see some good things that AI can be used for, like in the fields of science, or something like that. Maybe AI can be a boost to help broaden our understanding of the universe? But i could also see its usefulness in regards of helping people with things like writing an application, understanding something complex, you name it. I could also see the usage in regards to social situations for those people who are lonely, or have social anxiety or something like that. (Not saying they HAVE to use it, just that they CAN use it if they want to.) But i am frankly scared of how it will be utilized, still. We could have AI replace shitty jobs no one wants, in exchange for more people getting creative. It shouldn't be the other way around, where we replace creative fields with AI, and confine us to shitty jobs that no one wants.

It's crazy to me that we get to live in the timeline where AI makes art and does entertaining jobs like being a RUclipsr or a online personality while people are stuck doing manual labour. We were promised a future where the machines take over manual labour and would free up time for the average person to pursue arts, writing, and creative passions, instead, the machine is doing that while we are left to do the tedious, boring work. This is not the future I signed up for.
Data is a lot easier for a computer to handle than reality. Btw most people prefer manual labour to making art. Artists are a minority and many people take great pride in and find fulfillment in labour
The main thing that concerns me is that when we get to the point where we can’t tell if something is ai generated, the ai could turn into anyone and say whatever they want, we could end up having markiplier ai saying nazi propaganda or a famous actor calling someone else racial slurs. We’ve already seen what happens when fake accounts get a hold of famous names, like when verification became paid, companies were dropping in stock price cause people didn’t realise that people were making fake accounts
it's funny that u say that, bc the problem is that this technology already exists, at least, in the academic world princeton, stanford, and adobe released a paper in 2019 where they were able to take video and audio of a subject, create a machine learning model that captured facial features and audio cues, and then utilize the model to generate a new video that perfectly portrays a subject saying anything they want this technology has been in development for YEARS now in the academic world, so i imagine it will only take a few years before industry and independent developers catch up and use this technology for their own purposes
it's going to be hard for future content creators to make any money off of RUclips since it's all about data algorithms which ai will know how to create the perfect video to get the best mass market appeal but the problem with this is if everyone uses ai to create perfect videos than RUclips is going to be flooded with this ai content thus bringing the value down and no one getting payed.
We can use the same technology that is mimic us to also certify us, at a nano scale im sure there are micro fluctuations in our speech and breathing that only tech could spot. Almost like specific genetic sounds and expressions we make and could never be replicated. Idk I just pulled that outa my butt tho
Or it could be a famous person actually saying shady things then claiming it as AI. I can record a 4K Dolby Atmos video of the president and any politicians of being racist or snorting cocaine or doing a shady corrupt dealings, it won't matter. They and their PR team can just say it's AI, paid some PR agency that paid some analyst to make some news article/tiktok/youtube analyzing why the video could be AI generated. Yes, they can do all of those things even before 2022 without AI, but current AI capabilities just make it way easier since people believe AI can make everything.
What’s fascinating to me is how utterly disconnected this guy is from people’s concerns about AI. He asks “why does everyone hate AI?” and people respond with the obvious answers. that it’s soulless, it’s deceptive, it takes what’s supposed to be a creative platform and turns it into factory work, it requires no effort on the influencer’s part. And his response to that is “But why do you hate that?” He cares so little about his channel as an actual form of expression and passion, he is so unbothered by the prospect of his career turning into grifting children while he does nothing of value, that any suggestion that these are bad things is incomprehensible to him. Much like the AI he developed from himself, the algorithm and numbers is all he’s capable of thinking about now.
It's kind of funny how science fiction always thought that AI would take over the layman's job first, but it would never be able to take away the job of the creative, but here we are and AI is coming for the creatives first.
I think it's just that most of the layman's jobs in the developed world basically just exist to provide jobs. All the jobs essential to society's function are either mostly automated or outsourced to a poorer country where labor is so cheap it's not worth automating.
This is actually depressing, it'll either be like we cannot distinguish between real people and AI or everything is going to be so lifeless like it is right now..
@@MATAX5 This world is pretty fucked man, they're just trying to stay alive and not be homeless I guess. They have to do it, being off of the street is enough motivation to be mindlessly working no?

This genuinely made me tear up knowing one of my childhood comforts, youtube, is slowly turning into a mosh pit of AI generated content losing all soul and meaning behind it. The added element of human touch will always be EXTREMELY important.
It never had a soul. Most big RUclipsrs and twitch streamers have always been the fleshly versions of AI generated, just copying trends, faking reactions.
Were you under a rock the last 12, 13 years? Literally everyone has been saying this, ever since youtube removed the stars rating system. And do you really think the vaguely-glowing sludge churned out on shorts and on the explore page is that utopian? Shit, dead internet theory has been around for years before AI got as advanced as it is now.
This almost makes me wonder if we'll see a return to physical art to ensure human only art spaces, and it's insane that I can now unironically say "human only art spaces"
Why count out digital art out of it? Digital artists can too use the label "hand-crafted" or "hand-made" and it would be as true as in case of traditional art. IMO people may get bored of AI art very quick - at this point what makes it exciting is novelty, and that novelty is already wearing off.
There are many AI "artist" who printed off AI art on canvas and put some paint on it pretending they painted the painting. It's embarassing. Currently machines can't "paint" as there are only so many colours that can be printed and building something that can make brush strokes/mix paint/judge viscosity and colour match according to light ain't there. Yet.
@@johnalkaseltzer It makes no sense to put robots and humans in the same space. Obviously they're better. They have no limitations. But they're not people, and cannot be people. They're just things like my table or a rock. They should serve humans, not replace them.
@@seekittycatI saw a video a month or 2 ago of a robot arm painting. The paints had to be mixed for the colors by people but once it has the colors it could make physical painting the same way image AI can make digital art.
I never saw Charlie as being insane for his prediction. It's fucked up when it's a youtuber replacing himself with AI, but what happens when a brand catches onto that idea? With the writer's strike going on, how many companies are going to switch to this format to save themselves the time, effort and money of writers and artists?

how do we know you're not ai? how do you know i'm not ai? the problem is that ai is just becoming far too intelligent and developed, and the fact they can do everything a human can do AND MORE is just terrifying.
I'm a graphic designer and it honestly made my life easier. Photoshop is much more useful now that it has AI integration. Some tasks that took me an hour now take 15 minutes. It also helps me with idea, like sometimes I'd ask ChatGPT for specific marketing ideas and it would usually give me a good list of ideas.
Not really the actors strike is for taking a likeness and reusing it like say stan Lee being CGI'd into every new marvel movie, (which on one hand would be cool if given permission). If ai is just straight making stuff on it's own that's wholly original its fine.
um, no that isn’t what isn’t what the writer’s strike is about at all 😂 it’s about smaller and background actors getting paid the same amount as big name actors and getting breaks. that’s literally all it is about. what they don’t realize is that, if they continue to strike about this, production companies aren’t going to keep listening and bending to their will. people are getting pissed about this strike because they literally are told in their contract that they do not get breaks and such, yet these actors refuse to read the entire contract. desperation or not, read the fucking contract. people are getting pissed because these small actors are going to this strike and delaying movies. if they keep this up and continue to complain about the same things that have been complained about since the first movie was made, no one is going to care. it is’t about artificial intelligence at all. that literally isn’t even about the strike. it’s about small and background actors not getting paid the same amount as bigger actors and actresses (knowing they won’t get paid that amount because they aren’t popular enough). frankly, i think it’s stupid. you get the contract, yet you don’t read all of it. that’s the first thing any normal person would do. they’re just delaying movies and making life more miserable for the producers and directors who already have themselves hung for taking so long on movies in the first place. it’s stupid.
@@melt_brain that is not the case at all. i know people who have been in big major streaming service shows, (HBO, Netflix) like a whole episode dedicated to them, and they do not receive residuals, getting only the minimum SAG fee. they also are definitely striking for AI.
Do you believe that in the future RUclips and other video platforms will ask creators to self report in the video metadata to what extent AI has been utilized, similar to the self reporting for advertisement and broadcast things? Maybe that together with a search filter to exclude this type of content would be a neat feature. Of course, the people doing spamming, impersonation, scamming and so on would not self report so it would not cover all cases, but maybe at least it could help with moderation to some extent. Possibly a very tiny extent.
Remember how we envisioned the future as robots doing all the shit labor jobs while leaving all the fun jobs to us? Now we have AI on the way to replace artists, musicians, writers and online creators while we all move parcels for Amazon. Yay.
COVID was a test run. Once AI becomes more advanced there will be no need for the middle and lower class. Why should the rich deal with the excess waste, conflict, pollution, etc. caused by the non-one percenters when all their usefulness can be replaced by AI.
I listened to the episode of the someordinary podcast where Kwebbelkop was a guest and he laid out his "vision" for the future of entertainment. It sounded like an absolute dystopia. Man wants to eventually own thousands - if not millions - of channels, all posting daily, fully automated. He sounds so excited about it, no sign of self-awareness at all, it's absolutely chilling.
These people need to be stopped if the future of humanity is to be a good one. The people that control, that consume, that has been the enemy of people like you and me throughout history.
There is no doubt AI is becoming a problem. Before I watched this video, I read an article about Wizards of the Cost/Hasbro telling their artistic and content creators not to use AI. Fans caught something unusual in a picture of an axe-wielding giant for their new book, which the artist had used AI to make.
There is a level of satisfaction that people get when they have finished activities that require a lot of creativity such as writing an essay, filming a film, making a RUclips video, etc. When you complete these things, you feel pride and feel like you have really earned the money and respect that you are getting. More than that, you get to watch people enjoy the work you have created and that helps you feel even more pride. Having AI do all the work takes all of that away. You aren’t creating anything. These pieces of work are not yours. It’s the AI’s work.
I agree, but none of that actually matters. It is about, has always been about, and will always be about money. Nothing else. No one gives a shit whose work they're exploiting, they only care about how much money they can make with as little effort as possible. And AI is these peoples most wettest dream. Kwebblekop is making a ridiculous amount of money doing essentially nothing, and he only stands to make more as time goes on and the amount of actual work he'll have to do will only lessen. Eventually, VERY SOON, he'll just automate his content completely and he wont have to do any work at all, and still get paid these ridiculous sums of money. That's the end goal. It's not about creativity, expressing yourself, or pride. It's an INDUSTRY, not a hobby. I hate it as much as any reasonable person, but this is the future. I don't want it to be, but it is.
it's from the maker's view ,but for most consumer they can only see the end result/product not the process ,it's hard to share the satisfaction or accomplishment if they don't have the same level of passion .And most creativity such as art or composing ,most people can't see the process ,so it's like you're traveling ,you enjoy the view ,the trip and the food you had there ,but other peope only see the end result : you wasted time moving from point A to point B and eventually came back to your house. And Ai "creators" ,there's no such " journey " for them ,so they'll only see quick money and clout ,and that's their satisfaction.
The worst part is even if people don't like AI content, the ones who see profit in it will find a way to FORCE us to like it. I don't know how they'll manipulate the masses, but I am sure they will. Whether it is under our noses or not.
I honestly disagree with a lot of the stances taken in the video. Sure, right now AI is not at the point where you can tell when the content is not a genuine person (or may just be a bad youtuber lol), but what if it gets the point where it is very reactive and genuine sounding? The main point Charlie makes is that it's shitty/deceptive "because its lying to you by making you think its a real person". But what makes you think ANYBODY online is a person if they don't have a facecam? That's called Solipsism buddy. That's nothing new to the internet. Ever seen an "IRL NPC" meme? Furthermore if the AI gets to a point of sentience (NOT SAPIENCE) then who's to say that it should be treated as inferior? That's basically the entire plot of Detroit Become Human. The same argument is used all the time for animals and pets, and yet we still farm content on those all the time. I genuinely think all of this is just kneejack reactions out of fear of change and how fast it is happening and could affect the structures of our current day-to-day reality. (Like Charlie's Job and how he got it) But at the end of the day, why is that inherently a bad thing? Just like parents creating a child in the hopes that it does better than they could, humans creating AI that can do things better than they can one day should be something to be PROUD OF. I really dont get why people only view their worth in light of other peoples esteem of them and its value relative to its financial viability. Just seems so shallow. At the end of the day, I'm not here to say that THIS SPECIFIC use of AI is right or wrong. I'm just a guy. It just seems to me that Charlie (and much of chat's) view on this as a threat to all of humanity and greedy POS behavior is shortsighted. Just like any tool it can always be abused, but the main place I could see a genuine argument for it being easily abuseable is if it could take advantage of the RUclips/Internet algorithim better than people can. But then, that would be a RUclips problem. And you know what? If it's really that bad you can just not use youtube anymore. Go on a site with a "NO AI" policy or something. THATS THE FREE MARKET BABY. Sorry for the schizo rant but like, just reading this chat has me feeling everyone here has never played devils advocate and only yesmans, which has caused me to fear for the future of humanity more than any AI could.
The fact that Charlie effortlessly tied the lights flickering in to his argument is a testament to 1. How good of a speaker he is, and 2. That AI still has a long way to go to reach a level of talent that will keep people around long-term. Even a lot of people don't have the skill of ad-libbing like that. AI can replicate some things, but it really can't replicate the things that make someone truly stand out.
I don’t know when ai will be able to do it but it isn’t anything crazy😭 granted im a comm major so i’ve been doing it for years but I feel like it wouldnt be too difficult for everyone
@@IncognitoSprax You truly don't understand what AI is then. That's a kind of response made from coping or trying to rationalize to your own held beliefs. The reason I say this is because what AI does is that it generates its OWN scripts and its OWN inputs based on an algorithmic learning pattern. The only thing a human programs it to do is store data to be used later. Everything that an AI does at that point is its own choices. Otherwise what you're referring to, is just a computer. AI will eventually pass the Turing Test, and will eventually become so similar to a human, that it won't be distinguishable from real people unless that machine tells you it is, like Detroit: Become Human or something. The scary thing is that the majority of viewers will probably be fine with and feed right into this AI takeover. There's already so many documentaries on RUclips that have robot voices which I personally find disturbing, yet no one seems to take notice or see it as an issue. Scrolling through Shorts/Tiktoks/Reels is already mindless enough as it is and sprinkling in "worse" AI videos probably won't cause people to take notice.
Why would I care if the video I’m watching is made by a human or AI? I care for the entertainment, and thus far, the AI videos still have a long time before they become entertaining.
Thought I was the only one, I don't mind voiceovers too much with certain video types, but the ones where the voice is narrating what's on screen in a convoluted way which is self-explained in the video imagery itself is creepy.

got out of my depression because i finally found something i want to do in life, graphic design. with how advanced ai has gotten in just 2 years im fucking terrified that my job is going to be taken away from me or outsourced to softwares. To be more specific, I fear that the work from free lance with individual customers and small businesses will, but not entirely, wain. I am confident that bigger more professional companies will still hire teams of designers to perfect advertisement or brands. The use of AI will then be down to the individual designer under employment if to or not be used for what ever reason (IE shifting work load to bring forward deadlines more efficiently, creating texture, general shape etc.) While work will be much faster and easier, finding the work will not be and be more competitive It being an already over saturated market, (sorry for the profanity in my first paragraph, I just finished a barbell set in the gym and wasn't articulating my thoughts properly.)

At least I'm not that passionate about it anymore (thanks burnouts and depression). Since you have passion for the field, at least try it and have a plan B just in case :) Good luck !
Well, if Kwebbelkop isn't going to lift another finger to evolve their AI then this is truly Kwebbelkop end game as it is - how long til he gets bored and the content feels soulless even to Kwebbelkop? I have many questions like that. Currently I'm wondering if AI ever gets anxiety about it's cringe moments. It would make a great plot for a redemption arc in an AI plotline to triumphantly embrace their cringe.
We're not sure of that. AI training on itself and creating inbred models is a huge issue, there are no good ways to detect AI to prevent that, and the Internet is getting absolutely flooded with AI right now. On top of that, add potential copyright laws preventing AI from being trained on the majority of the content it needs to even be functional. Notice how the latest GPT model is lobotomized compared to the previous one. Sam Altman and his cronies WANT you to think it's the worse it will ever be. Might not. Keep a healthy dose of skepticism.
I mean, this won't be the worst but yeah, it certainly won't get worse on a grand scale unless something major occurs that I couldn't possibly foresee as an average person.

the thing there is that it being AI is part of the brand, and its niche. If AI gameplay could replace humans in terms of entertainment value, esports would be all AIs going at each other.
@@dziewiaty You "Teach" the AI by feeding them youtube videos, It's why when the AI makes a nether portal they sometimes step back, look at it, circle their cursor, and then jump in, because tutorial videos do that while explaining the nether portal. It's also why she aggros Vedal when he plays because it's recalling PvP tutorials. So, it's "Learning" from patterns and repetition, it's not just being programmed like a TAS or a bot.
"deceptive bloat on platforms" amen. Been saying this from the beginning. Pretty soon we're gonna need AI blockers like we have Ad blockers. It's going to create underground market demand for real artists that can actually delivery pro human, high quality, contributions that have a message behind them. I never give my $2 to a coffee vending machine if there's a barista nearby
when you search up painters you literally see AI art work trying to replicate their style, its crazy the AI art always looks like dogshit too its impossible for it to produce good art
I swear, 10 years ago I never invisioned a world where AI and robots take over our arts and entertainment while we humans are left to wage our lives away at minimum wage menial tasks to keep us occupied. The WORST timeline.
This reminds me of how I felt when AI art kicked off. Immediately my commission requests dropped by 80% and in the following weeks no one came to me for commissions anymore. The future sure is great, I say from my tent in the woods. I don't miss living in a house working my dream job at all.
People buy AI art now due to it being trendy. However, it's the emotion of the artist that is put into their art that touches people's emotions. That connection won't happen with AI art. Use your frustration to make the best art ever & there will come a day when the public shares the feelings you have today & your art will be what they want. (I hope that made sense. Lol.)
Be grateful that you lived in the Artist's Age at all. There have never been more artists per capita than right now. The gravy train had to end sometime.
It sucks because it could have been a tool for you, a way to use your own backlog of art to make cheap mock ups, the closest you would have to passive income ad an artist that lets people toy with your style before committing to a full commision, they pay however much, get an ai art piece but there's only so much the bot can do, its a taste test of your style for people on the fence, a way to experiment with their idea before they go for a full commission so they arent taking up lots of time from you, people who wouldnt commisiom you because of the cost, or dont know what they want, have no references, or arent sure about your style can poke the bot and you get paid, the bigger and more diverse your backlog the more versatile it is, but its just your art feeding it. You might lose out on some comissions, but you would surely get a decent chunk of people using the ai. It isnt replacing your work its supplementing it, giving people who cant afford a commission a way to buy art from you, people who dont know what they want a chance to experiment before they start taking up your time, people without references a way to make a quick and simple one to show you so they can explain things better, and people who arent sure your style is for them a way to experiment with it before committing to it. You could even collab with other artists and mix your samples into temporary bots that draw from different styles which would be cool but regulating that would be a nightmare
i genuinely think that artists, video makers and game developers need to establish an anti-AI copyright set up. if it is discovered that you are abusing content spaces in order to get into this, they should be eviscerated financially in order to establish precedence.
Trying to imagine AI replicating Charlie's quick and harsh wit and wondering if it would turn into a paragraph of offensive nonsense or the weirdest metaphors ever.
I hate that people are putting so much effort into making AI do things that we do for fun, while also messing with livelihoods of artists, voice actors, writers, and others I don't even know about. I like content made by humans with passion, not AI made to imitate or steal with a prompt.
Generally I would agree as art is close to my heart. But I doubt in larger scale people care about human made work with passion. They care about content they can consume. And opportunities.
Eh we could have developed ai for this stuff later my problem with current ai is that it's focusing on art and voice acting too much why can't we make ai useful in progressing man kind?
Neuro-sama has been around almost for a year with 400k followers on Twitch, she's the biggest AI streamer and one of the top indies of the vtuber world, so its no surprise
The difference is that Neuro isn’t really replacing human vtubers, her entertainment comes specifically from the fact that she’s an AI. Kwebbelkop is using AI to make the same sort of content as everyone else, while Neuro is more of her own separate niche.
The thing that bothers me about this most is that I just spent almost a whole week working on one video (still not even done and not posted yet) doing the research, writing the script, recording, and then editing. If you can do it all in minutes, it allows constant videos to be pumped out and over saturates the market with the same type of content, making it difficult for people to find engaging content that people work hard on.
The thing is, the biggest RUclipsrs will benefit massively from using AI compared to smaller RUclipsrs. If a small youtuber posts an AI video, it won’t make as many views or even attention.
People know quality and originality when they see it. Just keep doing you and have fun doing it. In the end, that’s all you can really ask of yourself anyway.
@@jakehoner1751 while I do agree with you, when you’re wanting to make it a career and provide for your family, you may have to sacrifice some aspect of fun to compensate for the RUclips game. Whether it be clickbait titles, thumbnails, etc. In my personal opinion, the fun gets taken away when you have to sacrifice your creativity to appeal to the RUclips audience, but maybe that’s just how it is and I have to accept it for what it is. Any thoughts on this?
@@jakehoner1751 I completely agree! I love spending the time and effort that I do on my videos and learning how to make them better. I just think the introduction of an AI like this just makes it significantly more difficult for viewers to find content they enjoy and for small youtubers to reach an audience since the market will likely become over saturated with low effort AI videos. Hopefully that doesn’t become the case, but I agree that making the videos should still be for the love of it rather than for the sake of making content if you’re not trying to make a career of it!
Yep, I’ve been trying to voice my concerns about things like this for a while but I get hit with the “you’re all doom and gloom”, when in reality these are things we seriously need to be discussing. To focus on the AI creator aspect with RUclips needs to put guidelines in place that these “creators “ need to very clearly state they are AI or alternatively ban it from the platform all together and have a separate platform for that type of content. Guess we can cross aliens and AI off our 2023 bingo cards now at least
because you are all doom and gloom, just because ai content exists it does not mean people will just abandon all human content, i do agree we should have a thing that notifies you if you are watching human or ai content but its not like people will just watch ai content and not watch human content, most people watch more than one creator so people will see ai content, enjoy it, and then probably go off and watch something else
I always thought it would be the other way around, where AI would never be able to take over entertainment because human emotions such as laughter, sadness, anger and suspense are not logical, and that things like science and math would be the first ones to be fully automated because everything is very logical.
@@randomvideoboy1yeah, it's funny how people still think laughter is magical. The AI does not have to attain some magic and become human. humans must realize there is nothing special about our brains.

(Not saying they HAVE to use it, just that they CAN use it if they want to.)
But i am frankly scared of how it will be utilized, still. We could have AI replace shitty jobs no one wants, in exchange for more people getting creative. It shouldn't be the other way around, where we replace creative fields with AI, and confine us to shitty jobs that no one wants.

it's funny that u say that, bc the problem is that this technology already exists, at least, in the academic world
princeton, stanford, and adobe released a paper in 2019 where they were able to take video and audio of a subject, create a machine learning model that captured facial features and audio cues, and then utilize the model to generate a new video that perfectly portrays a subject saying anything they want
this technology has been in development for YEARS now in the academic world, so i imagine it will only take a few years before industry and independent developers catch up and use this technology for their own purposes
it's going to be hard for future content creators to make any money off of RUclips since it's all about data algorithms which ai will know how to create the perfect video to get the best mass market appeal but the problem with this is if everyone uses ai to create perfect videos than RUclips is going to be flooded with this ai content thus bringing the value down and no one getting payed.
RUclips needs to make sure AI content like this is not monetized.

That sounds like purgatory man
Sounds like a Black Mirror episode
These people need to be stopped if the future of humanity is to be a good one. The people that control, that consume, that has been the enemy of people like you and me throughout history.
this is some 1984 shit
It sounds like every AI techbros on Reddit.
There is no doubt AI is becoming a problem. Before I watched this video, I read an article about Wizards of the Cost/Hasbro telling their artistic and content creators not to use AI. Fans caught something unusual in a picture of an axe-wielding giant for their new book, which the artist had used AI to make.
Amazing when art is involved people who deride those who complained about technological advancement suddenly became hypocrite luddites.
"You called me crazy but I was right."
That doesn't take away from the hundreds of innocent children you've locked in your basement.
It’s the AI’s work.
good comment
Plus, the fun of watching other people achieve things is immediately destroyed when you know it's AI, then it's like "well, what's the point?"
it's from the maker's view ,but for most consumer they can only see the end result/product not the process ,it's hard to share the satisfaction or accomplishment if they don't have the same level of passion .And most creativity such as art or composing ,most people can't see the process ,so it's like you're traveling ,you enjoy the view ,the trip and the food you had there ,but other peope only see the end result : you wasted time moving from point A to point B and eventually came back to your house.
And Ai "creators" ,there's no such " journey " for them ,so they'll only see quick money and clout ,and that's their satisfaction.
@Seffyzero the dude is not really getting many views on these videos. Still has to pay bills.
The worst part is even if people don't like AI content, the ones who see profit in it will find a way to FORCE us to like it. I don't know how they'll manipulate the masses, but I am sure they will. Whether it is under our noses or not.
Children will literally watch anything
ayo give me one example where the "ones who see profit" forced you to like something
They don't have to force people to watch it. People especially children will willingly just watch the content
Personally stopped watching youtube for pleasure, only info. I found out chilling in real life is much more fun and simple
6:20 some jobs depending on what it is being replaced by ai is a good thing
Crazy? I was crazy once, they locked me in a room, a rubber room, a rubber room of rats, and rats make me crazy.
The AI has no talent, it's just a model that copies from inputs and a script
It's already kinda started with bots on social media. A lot of those 'trolls', are actually just AI programmed to make a bunch of accounts to persuade others on what to think and how to feel, because people now have zero ability to do their own thoughts and need to be in a bandwagon of such.

The use of AI will then be down to the individual designer under employment if to or not be used for what ever reason (IE shifting work load to bring forward deadlines more efficiently, creating texture, general shape etc.)

Well… how many commissions would you normally get? Were you already successful enough to make a living off of art?
Sorry the future sucks. :/
It sucks because it could have been a tool for you, a way to use your own backlog of art to make cheap mock ups, the closest you would have to passive income ad an artist that lets people toy with your style before committing to a full commision, they pay however much, get an ai art piece
but there's only so much the bot can do, its a taste test of your style for people on the fence, a way to experiment with their idea before they go for a full commission so they arent taking up lots of time from you, people who wouldnt commisiom you because of the cost, or dont know what they want, have no references, or arent sure about your style can poke the bot and you get paid, the bigger and more diverse your backlog the more versatile it is, but its just your art feeding it.
You could even collab with other artists and mix your samples into temporary bots that draw from different styles which would be cool
but regulating that would be a nightmare

@@jakehoner1751 I completely agree! I love spending the time and effort that I do on my videos and learning how to make them better. I just think the introduction of an AI like this just makes it significantly more difficult for viewers to find content they enjoy and for small youtubers to reach an audience since the market will likely become over saturated with low effort AI videos. Hopefully that doesn’t become the case, but I agree that making the videos should still be for the love of it rather than for the sake of making content if you’re not trying to make a career of it!
While i agree with your sentiment, i believe in the silver lining of word-of-mouth being a thing again. We rely too much on search engines.
this is going to be a historical video in the future, learning history in the future with youtube existing will be interesting
Replicating a personality and have consciousness with a personality are two very different things.
The world is bad and people are bad everyone sucks everything is so sad and bad. Nobody's a Chad.
i think this ai thing is another piece of the pie all the other pieces are the same or worse and a lot of people are ignorant to it all.
because you are all doom and gloom, just because ai content exists it does not mean people will just abandon all human content, i do agree we should have a thing that notifies you if you are watching human or ai content but its not like people will just watch ai content and not watch human content, most people watch more than one creator so people will see ai content, enjoy it, and then probably go off and watch something else
I always thought it would be the other way around, where AI would never be able to take over entertainment because human emotions such as laughter, sadness, anger and suspense are not logical, and that things like science and math would be the first ones to be fully automated because everything is very logical.
New science isnt available online for the AI to learn from.
The ai is doing a terrible job in the shown videos though
It's almost as if Detroit become will become reality
turns out humans are not as special as we thought, who would've thought?
@@randomvideoboy1yeah, it's funny how people still think laughter is magical. The AI does not have to attain some magic and become human. humans must realize there is nothing special about our brains.
First bitmoji you talk about sounds like whisp
Crazy? I was crazy once. They locked me in a room. A rubber room, with rubber rats. And rats, they make me crazy. Crazy? I was crazy once...
Can’t believe charlie was right about this, we shouldn’t have doubted him guys (I have not watched the video yet)

His comment section is summed up well here
😂😂
It's like he isn't even aware of how he became the size he is. Dude created a whole community with his content and formed a fan base he could connect with. Now people are mad since you can't connect with a machine and he doesn't understand.
this guys career died a long time ago. He avgs 50k views as a human. This is his only option granted, for the sake of his reputation, but I don't think he will care after getting that paycheck
Oh he understands. But you have to understand that if he wants to make an ai contentl then why make a new channel when he already has one with million of subs he isn't using. Its still better to keep 1% of a million subscriber base then to start new
@@TomatoffelOr he could learn to branch out and do the things he wants to as a content creator instead of kill his fanbase by relying an monotonous automation.
@@Mrhellslayerz wierd you want him to branch out and do what he wants, but when he does that you criticise him for alienating his viewerbase xD
@@Tomatoffel Yeah, I see the irony. Does that make it less true though?
