Sabaton writes music about military history and they dont take sides. So there are songs about Russian polish German english Americans and of course Swedish as they are from Sweden. They even have a Sabaton history channel that goes deeper in to the stories of the songs.

Happy you enjoyed this, other great videos from them I suggest are "Christmas Truce" about the famous truce happened during the 1st World War, please don't skip the credits on this one, there is a surprise, and "No Bullets Fly (animated story video)", another true and very touching WW2 story I don't want to spoiler,.
They are also very very good live and I suggest you "Swedish Pagans" live at Waken 2019, that show was their 20th Anniversary, they played it in 2 stages at the same time, with the current lineup and the old members of the band.
"Uprising" and "40:1" from Woodstock 2012, well it's not THAT Woodstock, it's a big festival in Poland and both the songs are about Poland resistence in WW2.
The last suggestion is "En Livstid I Krig" live at Gothenburg, Sabaton at home in Sweden, with an amazing sing along by the audience.
    Enjoy.
Sabaton's songs are pretty all about epic war battles, and acts of courage and humanity in war, if you are interested in going deeper into their stories, they have a YT channel Sabaton History, where they explain the stories behind the songs with the help of an history professor, something should be watched at school when approaching war themes, I'm sure history would be much more appealing for the students.

Welcome to Sabaton, my friend! My degrees are in History (with minors in psychology and philosophy) with a focus on Western Civ and War history, especially WW2. Sabaton is one of my top favorite bands, along with Nightwish. Both my husband and I are total History nerds, and proud of it! Lol! This is war history at its finest, for audiophiles, without glorifying it nor choosing a side. The way the tell these amazing stories, they somehow manage to imply, regardless of the country or war, that there are never truly any victors in war (as destruction and so much loss, to me, doesn't equate to "victory"); just amazing stories and tales of human beings that chose to do brave and selfless things. They take those stories and teach them in the very best way. I wish History classes would pick up some of this...kids might actually start to enjoy history! Lol! Fun fact - the drummer for Sabaton is Hannes Van Dahl. He is the husband of Floor Jansen from Nightwish. They have a daughter, Freja. Anyway....welcome to the wonderful world of Sabaton and their history classes taught in metal! You'll want to check out No Bullets Fly & Night Witches - for both songs please do the Animated Story Video versions to react to, as that gives you the story along with the song. Their Sabaton History Channel here on YT goes even deeper into the story behind each of their songs. It's really an amazing thing they are doing! Also, check out 82nd All The Way and the official video to Christmas Truce - and watch through the end of the credits for a special and beautiful vocal appearance! Hope you, your son, and your family are more than well! So happy to share yet another musical journey with you! As always, sending blessings to you & yours from me & mine down in Bama!

Sabaton is not political again their mantra is “ Lest We Forget”. Their live performances are phenomenal, check out 40-1 live Woodstock Poland. The crowd was estimated at over 730,000. The song is about 1000 polish soldiers holding off 40,000 German soldiers. I have seen history teachers react to Sabaton because their students have told their teacher about the band. Some don’t even like metal and they become addicted to this band. Like Nightwish they have no bad songs but a few of this old metal heads suggestions are En Livid I Krig live in Gothenburg, several of their Animated Story videos, ( a combination of their history channel and music video) No Bullets Fly… please play it to the end, and Night Witches. Wing Hussars , Price of a Mile or Attack of the Dead Men are others their catalogue is huge. God Bless Rock On Stay Safe!🙏🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

Sabaton and Nightwish have some connections. They are the best storytellers, they don’t play music, they play feelings, they have the most amazing couple in metal and they have the most devoted fanbase. If there is a war in metal, the Nightwish Army and the Sabaton Army would be allies.
Hannes (drummer) once said when Sabaton was traveling with Nightwish, he saw this woman with a whiskey in one hand and a cigar in the other hand, and knew immediately this woman he will marry. Her name is Floor Jansen! And they Did!!!
The "Bismarck" , and his sister ship "Tirpitz", were the 2 largest battleships ever built in Europe (250 meters long, 36 meters wide, and displacing more than 50.000 tones) and they were the pride of the kriegsmarine (Germany's military navy) during Ww2. The "Bismarck" set sail in May 1941 to reach the Atlantic and destroy merchant convoys, but he was intercepted by the British and during a brief fight, destroyed the former flagship of the British fleet and pride of the Royal Navy, the worldwide famous battlecruiser "Hood", by penetrating her armor and detonating her aft main ammunition magazine and killing all 1900 members of her crew except for 3 men, and heavily damaged the battleship "Prince of Wales". This enraged the prime minister Winston Churchill who ordered all his ships in the Atlantic to abandon their operations and destroy the Bismarck. In total more than 40 ships participated to the hunt, making it the biggest naval hunt in history. Meanwhile Bismarck, who had received a hit during the first battle, was leaking fuel and was trying to reach the French port of Saint Nazaire, in occupied France, for repair. After 6 days of playing cat and mouse with the British, Bismarck was attacked by airplanes launched from the aircraft carrier "Ark Royal" and hit by a torpedo in the stern, which jammed his rudders during evasive maneuvers, meaning that he was forced to sail in circles, just a few miles away from reaching air cover. In the end battleships "King George V" and "Rodney", alongside the heavy cruisers "Norfolk" and "Dorsedshire" fought the already doomed battleship and, during the following 90 minutes completely destroyed it. However, despite having all his guns destroyed, and having received more than 400 hits (out of the 2800 shells that the British had fired at it) his armor was still mostly intact and the ship was still afloat. So the british launched another 4 torpedoes and he disappeared beneath the waves. After inspection of the wreck however it had been discovered that the torpedoes did no significant damage thanks to the battleship's excellent armor, and that Bismarck had been scuttled by his crew (although it should be noted that many historians believe that it would have eventually sunk due to the damage received). Of the 2200 men that served on it, only 114 survived. The old man seen in the video is the son of the last survivor, who died in 2018, 1 year before this song was released
    NWSU 🤘😎🤘.

They have covered the Holocaust (final solution) gas warfare (father), Warsaw uprising (uprising) in German occupied Poland, Blitzkrieg against France from the German perspective (ghost division), Soviet fighting against the Germans in ww2 (defence of Moscow) AND ww1 (atack of the dead men). Even Swiss guards stand agains impossible odds when rom was sacked (last stand). Battle of the bulge (Screaming Eagles), how about PTSD and Drug abuse in soldiers and heroes returning from battle (to Hell and back), as you can see the List is looooong. The boat they performed on was named "Primo Victoria" - the name of another of their songs. They froze on that boat, Joakim was bashing his leg to make sure it was still there! The heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen was with Bismarck and escaped . As USS Prinz Eugen, after the war ended, it was neglected for months, nuked TWICE, and still did not sink until months later! My Dad was in the RAN on HMAS Australia and hunted Graf Scheer after it sank HMS Jervis Bay, but - lucky for him and me - it got away that time. He was at the Sunda Strait, Lingayen Gulf and Leyte Gulf actions too. HMS Dorsetshire fired the last torpedoes, some of which did not go off, into Bismarck and picked up some survivors but had to leave because of a U-boat. That U-boat rescued more and called a German trawler for those they could not take. Bismarck was scuttled by the crew to prevent capture. The U-boat was late - luckily for the British!

Sabaton is an incredible band. One of my favorite bands currently making music. They make music about military history, regardless of sides. They've done a few about American military history too.
"Christmas Truce" is one of Sabaton's most popular songs.
One of my personal favorites from them is "Valley of Death", which is about the Battle of Doiran during WWI. The Bulgarians (extraordinary outgunned) were actually able to hold off the British. It is considered one of Britian's greatest military losses in history.
Sabaton is a genre called Power Metal, which is pretty popular in European metal. It uses operatic and orchestrational elements to make a very uplifting sound. It's supposed to get you pumped and feeling good.
A very popular power metal band is named NightWish. And the drummer of Sabaton is married to the current singer of Nightwish. Her name is Floor Jansen, and she has an incredible operatic voice.

Glad you found Sabaton. Nice reaction! Though I always quibble about people doing what they have to do for their country. Being a peace person during the Vietnam War, I saw on tv every night the stupid tragedy of war. So, what if they gave a war and nobody came? That's why I love Sabaton. Christmas Truce is about people who just didn't see a reason to fight, though eventually they did. En Livsted I Krig's theme is also about feelings of people sent off to fight. Their songs all ignite interest in these historic events. It's so nice to see people fired up about history, and feeling companionship with other countries.

It gets crazier when you realize the Bismarch wasn't sunk by weapons fire, but because it's rudder of all things was disabled. The captain was then ordered to scuttle the ship because it could only move in circles. It took so little external damage that, though mainly as a result of poor firing from the allies that got to it (Think someone said they engaged too close for their cannons to do much good). It really was a beast of steel.

The production value of their music videos (like this, Soldier of Heaven, Race to the Sea, Christmas Truce, Livegardet, and the Unkillable Soldier) are off the charts! They also do collaboration videos with Yarnhub. As of right now I think there at least 4 animated story videos that do the history AND song. The four I can think of are Lady of the Dark, Night Witches, Red Baron, and No Bullets Fly.

There are many small detailed around the sinking of the ship and they even showed what is historicly belived to be the kill shot that sealed the Bismarcks fate, The torpedo hit that toke out the rudder probadly the only place on the ship that could have doomed the ship and caused the ship to lose its manuevrability. Even after close to 400 shell hits it still refuced to sink and its also belived that the Admiral on the ship ordered the ship to be scuttled. James Cameron have done a documentry showing him documenting the battle dmg and from there hull survey theres no chans it sunk becouse of battle dmg. Other then the torpedo hit on the rudder the torpedo dmg they found barelly was enough to break the torpedo armore belt. The dmg above the waterline was extreme ofc but below the waterline no chans it was enough to sink it from that alone.

SABATON has no bad songs, there is a sabaton history channel that tells the background history on each song. They all deserve a reaction. Sabaton tells the tales, that need to be remembered, learned from without blame, without politics, without apology. This music video was in collaboration with Wargaming, makers of World of warship. The fishing boat Captain is the son of one of a bare few Bismarck survivors from its sinking. They took the concert to the battle field, to commemorate this period of history, and froze their ass off doing it.

@@michaelmccarthy5455 while true, those thing need to be, no MUST, be remembered, less they repeat in history, The Final Solution, does a good job of memorializing what was lost, on what is a difficult subject to cover, I recommend the Sabaton History episode to explain what the bands feeling on making that song and performing it. Keep in mind that there are a growing number of people that deny that it even happened, but if you visit one of the camps, or a holocaust memorial, such as the one in Boston, MA there is a unbelievableness to the loss that is palipable. The Holocaust is something that should leave a scar on society, people learn from scars,

Glad you enjoyed it, Sabaton tends to work with the game developers behind "World of Tanks/World of Warships" which provide most of their CGI work. They do a lot of historical songs but they pay great attention to detail. For example here they call the "Bismark" a "he" rather than the more common "she" because that was/is in fact how Germany 'designated' it's warships. In "The Lost Battalion" (a WWI song about the US Liberty Division) they electronically replace a lot of the instrument sounds with things like rifle bolts and machine gun mechanisms which lends a great deal of pathos to the song. One line in the song "Devil Dogs" (US Marines obviously) the lead singer was having trouble with in that he could not figure out how to sing it till the rest of the band explained he wasn't supposed go sing it, but shout it as had originally happened. ("Come on you sons-of-bitches! Do you want to live forever?" :) )
I'd recommend "The Last Stand", "Winged Hussars", "Steel Commanders" and frankly any Sabaton song.

The sinking of the Bismarck was, in my opinion, a real case of "deal with the problem now before it becomes unsolvable". If the Bismarck had been permitted to carry out his mission of harrying supply convoys in the Atlantic, then England very well could've been starved into surrender, and WW2 could've gone very differently. His threat was simply too great, and the sinking of the Hood was a personal slight on top of that. It HAD to be done ASAP.

Wow, you're really into this one! Well, no surprise there haha! Sabaton's songs are all about wars, battles and persons who played a significant role in them. They put a lot of research into their songs as to make them as true and accurate as possible and they don't take sides! They also have a phenomenal History Channnel on YT with backgrounds to their songs.
A Sabaton is a medieval iron shoe the Knights wore as part of their harnesses.
One of their great songs is "No bullets fly", a very emotional one! ruclips.net/video/dsIO-3GgenY/видео.html It is an animated story but beautifully made!

Exactly what you said there is just human blood spilled in wars, no veteran ever said war was good, only those who dont know war are speaking about it like heroism. And yet survivors are saying those who died were heroes. And when we look today ...... nothing changed we are still stupid and we still do same mistakes, its like they fought for nothing.

The great thing Sabaton does is honor the soldier and damn the war. They are apolitical, and as a rule they don't take sides, they just tell the history in a soundbite. You can also check out the Sabaton History channel on RUclips, and while you are enjoying that channel with Indy Neidell, check out Indy's channels: The Great War, World War 2, and TimeGhost.
If you are new to Sabaton and want a cross-section of their music style, check out The Ballad of Bull, Cliffs of Gallipoli, and Christmas Truce. Their sound is odd is that it's clearly their own and easily identifiable (and I don't mean just because of Joakim's voice), despite seeming different in genre.
As far as their topics, it's 99% military history, with some tribute songs here and there early on.
Their songs are on sometimes surprisingly various topics:
The Final Solution (a great song about a terrible topic, the Holocaust)
Light in the Black (UN Peacekeepers)
The Price of a Mile (Paschendale) and Cliffs of Gallipoli (both about the senseless waste of life)
To Hell and Back (Audie Murphy and PTSD)
No Bullets Fly (honor and brotherhood between ex-foes)
Smoking Snakes (about the little-known Brazilian Expeditionary Force in WWII)
The Final Battle (about one of the last battles of WWII where US and Wehrmacht troops (and a few surprising additions) fought side-by-side against Waffen-SS troops.)
They also have some "fun" songs, such as Man of War (the lyrics are titles of Manowar songs) and Metalizer (the lyrics are song titles from various bands), also Metal Crüe (the lyrics reference heavy rock and metal band names.)
