I am playing this for Thanksgiving. Although this song doesn't mention Christmas at all, it has become associated with Christmas because it was used in the 1954 film White Christmas. I think it is a really good song for Thanksgiving because it reminds us to think about what we are thankful for.
All of us here, Leander, I mean all of us, all of us thank our blessings for having you in our life. The blessing of music is a gift from the gods. Thank you
@@stevenwilgus5422 You're welcome Steven. It's great to encourage this young talent. My grandfather was also a piano player. He came up the hard way. His Dad died when Gramp was 11 years old. He and his older sister dropped out of school and worked in a textile mill to help support three younger siblings and their mother. He first learned to play the church organ, thanks to a nun in the parish. Ten years later he was playing ragtime on the piano with his own band. He also became a tool and die maker, a vocational teacher and a municipal politician. Music was his joy throughout his life. I love the connections Leander's music is creating for all of us.
It is refreshing to hear a talented young man like yourself performing works by the great songwriters of the early 20th century and keeping their music alive.
We're all Thankful that you were brought into our lives. The bright smiles, and the gift of your playing always brighten our days. Happy Thanksgiving Leander, and fans everywhere.
So wonderful dear Leander you not only charm the piano, but your charming ability to pierce our hearts again and again shows a beautiful soul that in reality is surely heaven sent , your continued success is a blessing for us all ,
You have a good feel for jazz -- I look forward to hearing you play more. I'm also looking forward to hearing you play "Linus and Lucy". I hope you all stay healthy and have a very nice Thanksgiving!
Awesome song, you did it great!! It was sung by many people, one of my favorites was when it was done by Bing Crosby in a Christmas movie called White Christmas! Hope you see it one day :)
Leander, thank you for this song (I love those old Bing Cosby musicals). We often forget to be thankful for all that we have and to help those less fortunate. Today it was especially meaning because my youngest daughter was hospitalized with serious heart issues. I wish you and your family a happy and blessed Thanksgiving. You are a precious gift from God to the world. ❤❤❤❤
@@Leander-piano Yes, but I'd be going back as an adult, so I wouldn't have the option of a career in music - not a very long one, anyway. But best of luck to you, whatever you decide to do!
Gorgeous! I was just looking for this song on RUclips for Thanksgiving and came across your video. Beautiful playing and I notice you are playing either by memory or by ear. Beautiful voicing.
