This was what I was most excited for during this direct, and I feel nobody is talking about it. The fact this has cross saves is insane!
@@melxb There's still a lot of reading, but I feel that the quests tie together a lot better, and most of them tie into a small number of overarching narratives which each concern one of the main characters. There's lots and lots of character specific dialogue, so the party characters feel as though they are really taking part in the story. For what it's worth, I was more invested in the story in 2 than I was in the first one, not sure if that means anything to you.
@@melxb I have not played either Pillars 1 or 2, so I can't offer a comparison there I'm afraid.
mel b Not really. If you like exploration and not combat then this is the exact opposite of that. You could try and watch some videos on it but as much as I love it I wouldn’t recommend it to you specifically
This was the only surprise of an otherwise tedious direct.
One of the best RPGs of all time has finally hit the switch, rip my social life
We need more Switch ports of PC games to support crosssaves with Steam. That would encourage more PC gamers to double dip.
More Tales games would be amazing. I don't think there will be a problem with Berseria or Zestiria running on switch
But you have to buy games on both platforms? Pay 50 dollars twice for the same game? And it'll look poor compared to PC version. Especially with all these small icons, little text, simplified interface, downgraded graphics, slow framerate.
@@sidewinder2057 You can wait for a sale, first of all. Second, if you're obsessed with graphics, then don't buy the Switch port. Don't buy a Switch, either. The portability is the entire point of buying it a second time, why would you even be thinking about graphics?
@Source Dasher I do own a Switch & kinda agree with you. I rarely take it out with me, & apart from the novelty of playing a few good Nintendo exclusives, it rarely gets any use. I actually think Nintendo fans are the most delusional fans that exist! To be fair a lot of these recent ports over to Switch (Wolfenstein, Doom, upcoming Witcher 3 and obviously Divinity) are very impressive for the tech, but whats the point if I can play a vastly superior version on PC (or XB1 or PS4)? And on top of that the games are so overpriced & rarely see decent price drops. Its hard to justify the amount of money Ive spent on my Switch library.
@Source Dasher I don't want to burst your bubble but those 'some decent 1st party exclusives' are the main reason why people buy Nintendo consoles. Just watch when Pokemon and animal crossing release. Mario Maker is great. Super Smach Bros dlx, Mario Kart dlx, two game of the year contenders with Zelda and Mario...
Sony and Xbox mostly pay for the exclusivity of a game. If Sony didn't do that, the PS would serve no purpose in this day and age. My 15 inch laptop can run most of PS4 games w/o issues. It can connect with xbox one wireless controllers. And I can run it on my tv or use keybord/mouse on a monitor. It is also portable.
A lot of people seem to like the portability. I must say it is handy to give it to a child while watching tv instead of the tv being used for games. But I myself only use it for casual games or (S)NES.
I'd love a more powerful switch though. Seen the specs at the time of release, it wasn't a 'fisher price' tablet. The downside being that tablets do not have great specs compared to PS and PC and don't age well.
I was actually pretty hype for this...
Cross-saves is an awesome feature!
1 month of playing and still addicted to this amazing game.
One of the best RPG I've ever played
That Steam cross-save is perfect. I wish more games had that feature.
I really have to appreciate how this allows crosspassing of save files between systems. The devs really went the extra mile.
I was surprised to see this on Switch! Definitely worth the double dip.
It's got cross save.
Between this a wasteland 2 the switch is becoming my favorite crpg machine
Bought the PC version, will definitely buy Switch version also
Be wary, this version lacks local co-op for the campaign. If you want to play this with a friend locally, get another version. The PS4 version works quite well, minus a few crashes, so I recommend that. Just quicksave a lot.
I assume PC has good support for it. The first game did. Just plug in two controllers, press start and join as player 2 and play.
pipero .
Shenanigans!
Thank you for the info, my good sir. (Still a great game though)
@@slimjim6434 Figured it was worth the warning. The box says you can play local 2-player, but it neglects to mention the caveat: only via the arena mode, which is just not the same.
I really want this. So many games I need. I’m gonna wait for physical release on this tho
Probably my favorite RPG to date. This game is amazing, and I'm so glad this is on Switch now. With this and Overwatch, I pretty much will have almost all the games I play in one console. Which I can also take anywhere. I love it. I hope a lot of people give this game a chance too, the story is great, the characters are great, the visuals are great, the music is great. It's fun, play it
I hope this gets a physical release for my collection
Yeah it's at Best Buy
They must have gotten really good at optimizing the game for it to run on the switch
How does this play on Switch? I'm on the fence between PC and Switch but I don't want to buy both xD
Get this game if you haven't! It's fantastic and a time sink! >:D
This switch version does not have couch co-op split screen
200 hours into steam version, more to go on switch
I like where this is going
This is really hyped actually, I love this game!!
edit: and you can link your steam! Awesome!
time to recreate the Manhattan Project again but this time probably melt my switch's CPU
If you have ipad air 4 or better, you should buy ipadOS version of this game! short summary:
- Graphic MUCH MUCH better !!!!
- Sound better !
- Control better !
- Can cross save if you have steam PC version.
- and ironically CHEAPER !!!
- BTW iPad screen is bigger, so you can see more detail. This game is not design for small screen at the beginning, there is many tiny objects in game.
When I first read title I thought it was a persona 2 rerelease and now I’m sad
I play on Xbox. Please can we have cross save with that??
Steam cross save? I cant wait.
Pc cross save just made me commit to this.
🔥 Fable in the Switch 🔥
This is better than fable
Do you have to buy the game twice for cross saves? I know it’s a silly question but it’s worth asking.
No local coop on one system is super disappointing
Is this game EVER going to be on sale?
GM mode?
is there local coop as well ?
Yes
DOUGLASS WINECHESTER
DO NOT BUY THIS GAME FOR LOCAL CO OP!!!! It says split screen on Nintendo store BUT it is false and the devs have confirmed there is no local co op on the switch version.
Looking for a couple of people to play with. XD
Is it digital download only or will there be a physical release as well?
I’d double dip for $30 but not $50
So I keep seeing this on sale every few months on the eShop - apparently it's tough to get into at first... anybody care to confirm or deny this?
Como me gusta este juego la ptm y en portable ahora ♥
Gracias Nintendo ♥
I’m waiting for Mario 64 on switch pls make it happen
And super Mario 3D world
Well, it took them a year to go from NES to SNES, maybe next year we'll get N64.
but personally i played old games to death, emulated them so much, id rather take remakes or new reimagined entries
What's the price?
This turn based combat?
94 ON METACRITIC
Juegazo
That's epic and all but I'm stuck here using the Sans mii costume for SSBU :/
Haha yeah
I would have been more interested if it was possible to use the screen as a mouse
How many copy This game on nintendo is??!
Can you make SpiderWick Cronnicles on Nintendo Switch?
Please
What?
SpiderWick the game to be Compatabile with Nintendo
Huh?
Nice video nintendo
YESSSS
Can you make super smash brawl univers with lot of characters lot of stages and make 3ds available
A console that advertises playing together easily and locally, a game that advertises playing locally. And yet this version is the only version which does not support local coop. You can even play splitscreen on a pc. I dont know how that happens. Was very excited. Total fail in my opinion. The port, not the game.
EricTries in fairness local co op for this game would probably be far too much for the switch to handle, this game is extremely taxing even on pc.
@@iiReaperv2 Well the Witcher 3 is running on the small thing. It has pulled of amazing feats with good optimization. Now obviosuly i am not an engineer but i would happily take hits, even major ones, in the graphical department to make that option available. But to not have it at all is very disappointing. The cooperative campaign and the dynamic split screen mode was a big selling point in the original trailer from 2 years ago. This for me feels like taking couch play out of smash.
EricTries each to their own I suppose, I personally love the single player and the co op alike
@@MrDupiDupi1 just look at the 0:30 mark for example, very muddy, compared to other versions where u can make out the characters and all their little details
한글판 해주낭?
It's gonna look like trash in game, especially coming after playing on pc, but jesus wept i want it so bad
Ur gay
@@unknownecho6461 cool
Oh, this game is best played online... with switch online's peer to peer connection... nooooooooooooo
Fym this game plays absolutely fine single player
Its turn based lol
The developer decides if the game uses server or p2p. Nintendo Online is just a paywall like psn or xbox live. But coop games like this usually use p2p because a server for 4 people would be useless
@Psyduck Thats it! Many people say P2P is bad but thats not true.
korean language plz
Nice, but overpriced for a port of a game that has been out for a while, I'll wait for a sale.
You say that, but its a 120 hour rpg with an insane level of replay value. Its also on sale on steam for 40% off currently, and 50% off on ps4 and Xbox One.
Edit: Steam sale just ended. Not sure about ps4 and Xbox.
This is cool and all but why are the graphics so much worse then i remember, the PC version looked so much better
The bigE hmm I wonder why...
