  • I was so sorry to hear of the passing this week of the great Midwestern fiddler Dwight Lamb. In addition to having a large repertoire of great American old-time tunes, Dwight was heir to a very rich tradition of Danish music from the region of Vendsyssel that had been totally lost back in Denmark. Dwight's family kept it alive and Dwight remembered many many great tunes that he shared with my friends Kristian Bugge, Mette Kathrine Jensen, and Morten Alfred Høirup. Kristian and Mette especially recorded a lot of music with Dwight, so I'm sending this video out as my condolences to them. I asked Kristian for some of his favorite tunes from Dwight and this crooked three part polka that I also really love was one he mentioned. It's very fun to play!
