I really love the way you make your video's. I'm still new on Star citizen. But have watched several of your clips were you take us on a tour around a ship. I really enjoy them and its a great set up with the time stamps. Packed with good intel and I hope you will keep up with producing this kind of top quality video clips.
I love Prospector mining. I did the Mole bag swap and it made it even more enjoyable. If you don't own a mole, do some salvage missions or ping in chat to see if someone who owns a mole is willing to let you take some of theirs :D
Your videos are great man. I’ve just started playing Star Citizen in July so I’m still pretty new. Your content has been extremely helpful and super enjoyable. Keep it up!
Great video! Thank you for putting this together. If there is to be a wipe for 3.20, Prospector mining will be my focus to get me established once again. And microtech has such beautiful scenery to mine in.
Thanks for the great content! I have not seen a video about refining anywhere. You said that you always use dinyx, but not why, or what all of others do. This would be helpful to us new folks in game. Cheers!
Bought a prospector ingame myself, after some mining experience from the free ship trial event, learned that is a must to buy a mining laser, why not add 2 modules, switched to the Mole bags, new qt drive, all set. Rocks around 20k mass is a challenge but the relax gameplay is awesome. Easy 100k to 200k per run (full cargo, 20-30 mins max), better findings means even more profit.
Using the scanner is extremely helpful. You can tell how many rocks to expect from 12 km away if you zoom in the scanner and you'll easily avoid the gem nodes
A tip is to cut your quantum drive mid travel between planetary points of interest with "U" then bee-lining down to the surface to guarantee a relatively clear spot far from any POI, very low risk of anyone finding you.
Try mining in the Aaron Halo. I do it in the fith band and it might be more boring but it is very profitable. Starting from Arc L1 -> Hurston is a very good path and even with Quantanium you usually have planty of time to bring it back because you dont have to leave an atmosphere.
I used to mine asteroids a lot, but judging closure rate and location of rocks w/o the visual clue of surrounding terrain is a challenge. Seems to be a scanner blind spot as you approach a cluster until the graphics trigger. I switched back to moons.
Control surfaces is going to be the next big change for prospectors. Increased fuel costs and thruster overheating in atmosphere will force miners to use vtol mode more or even land their ship for cracking the rock. It will also encourage people to scout out god mining spots on lighter ship to save time on searching. Also for the QT jump bug you can just restart your QT drive 3-4sec before cooldown ends. As long as your drive finishes spooling up after red bar is gone you will be good for new jump.
The mining bug where the progress bar suddenly just dissappears or when there seems to be desync with the charge levels is really annoying. Besides that mining is so much fun, relaxing and finally varied! Also to answer your question about the fill rate: it depends on the mining head and the modules you have installed (and sometimes even the distance to the rock you're scooping up)
Is nobody going to mention the fact that to mine these rocks on a planet, his ship needs to sit in the air at a 45 degree angle? In what drawing/board room did anyone think this was not a stupid idea? Imagine what that would look like from the surface, and this game is all about immersion? Being able to control the Mining laser head like a turret, to aim it down at the rock with a perfect clear view would work better, then the ship could stay level, or land.
Prospector mining is no more a get rich quick scheme, its quite complex now with all the rock sizes, resistances, lasers and gadgets. You can still make money but you will need patience and I suggest you stay away from Daymar. Also dont forget different refineries give different bonus when refined, so choose your refinery / ore to maximise profits.

The "looking away" trick to make the jump work can be also done by just canceling spooling after the dropout and starting again, its a bit faster. :)
Ah good to know, thanks!

I love the prospector - I know CIG has mentioned another solo miner but I hope they each have their pros. It’s such a pleasant little ship.
Agreed :)
Im trying to learn more about the industrial side of the game, I appreciate the video man. Always well done.

Great job again Farrister, keep them coming buddy!

LOved the video. WOuld like to see more examples of using different mining heads.
Noted!

Yup, for moons it's an especially useful trick. But I really wasn't expecting to find anyone at a random aid shelter on MicroTech!
Thank you for another Farrister Video!!

Will give it a try!

Man, I find way too many rocks I can’t break in the ol’ Prospector.
But that's OK, I think - don't have to break everything with one ship!

Haven’t mined in such a long time, need to try it out with the changes when I get back into the game. Looks like fun.

Good stuff 🤘🤓🤘

thanks for the video, somehow super relaxing but not boring. 😀
do you do in-depth loadout videos? I feel they'd be well worth the time
Thanks a lot!
All your content is good for me.

Maybe I could have done a better job :D
Still like mining in the asteroid belt more. Is that still possible? But mining is sooo satisfying! very nice!
Still possible!
What was with the landing lights in the hanger? Ive not seen that before
Happens all the time to me xD

What do you guys think, tge msr or corsair as a daily driver
today i found out that if a creator talks about the like button it actually lights up!
Wait, really?!
Holy crap! It does!
Sped up to hide disconnects and unbreakable ones?
My dream.. but unfortunately the game just dont work for me. On my super computer it just stop-go-stop-go. not playable. Support was unfortunate,
GIB MEDIUM PROFIT! 😊
