If there are children, I feel that if you focus on the message that you want your kids to receive and look within and be honest with YOU, it'll make it easier. Staying unhappy in a relationship or marriage for children is never a good message to send to them. There is light at the end of the tunnel and look for the positive in it, because it's ALWAYS a positive in every situation whether we see it right away or not. I don’t know. Yeah, I get that both people have to consent and sign on to get married but I feel like there should be a different avenue with divorce. Needing both people to sign it means that if one person doesn’t, they can essentially blackmail the other person. Like, I’ll sign if you do this. Or they can just “hold you hostage” and never sign. I definitely feel like it shouldn’t have be both people. Maybe you can just sign an affidavit and testify infront of a judge for why you want a divorce and they make it official? I dunno but the current process WACK. Like, people forget marriage is a contract too. Which I feel is a part of the issue for my divorce is such a lengthy process.

In my opinion marriage is overrated, and if you add kids to the equation custody battles can come at any time after the divorce. I’m dealing with that now, and it’s been on going for two years due to Covid 19. And the whole time attorney fees just rack up! I’m happily single and can’t wait for this to be over and have my life back.

My divorce cost me $7 in 2018. My ex signed the decree 2x but dodged me for months. He said to me, B*tch I’ll show you that you don’t run sh*t. Little did he know, him abandoning the process allowed me to file a publication for divorce. I filed a poverty affidavit & the judge approved. After running an ad in the newspaper for 4wks, he contacted me. I told him what I did & the court date. He attended but left disgruntled because the judge didn’t appreciate his attempts to stall the process. I don’t wish that anguish on anyone. 🙏🏾
Some people think divorce is sad or hard it can be but it's a power in letting go. Having the strength to end a situation and move forward is a beautiful thing. I'm grateful everyday that I'm divorced from my ex husband and never have to wake up to his face

You can't stay in a dead thing for anyone else. When you know and you really tried to get them to work on it with you and it's still not working, it's time to let it go. I just saw comparison pics of Jennifer Lopez 10 yrs ago compared to today, she looks a lot younger now. Thank you for this topic. I find this helpful as I'm going through a divorce. I didn't want the divorce at first but as i looked at the situation my husband was already gone from the marriage. I find it hard to understand at times. Then i find times that i am happy and strong. It is very emotional for me but I know God make no mistakes. MC LYTE thank you I am a big fan from day one. Something it does seem like all of sudden. My ex told me on Christmas we are going to work on our marriage after he spent 18 months locked up and on New Years I want a divorce. That was very hard.

Not in FL. It only took 2 months for my divorce process. Filed the day after New Years. He was served on Feb. 14th and the divorce was finalized the end of February. No attorneys involved.

Wow, it's super hard to divorce while you're sick. That's a touchy subject, b/c many think they need to stay together for the illness even if that makes it worse. My husband just passed away and we went through that issue.

The weight of a marriage is mainly carried by the women, same as parenting. Until young men are taught how to be good partners divorce rates will keep on rising.
I concede that it’s mainly women like you said, but many men suffer and go through these stages as well. It just destroyed me to not see my daughter everyday. It still hurts me 12 years later, every time i drop her off.

I love the realness of this show and the transparency of everyone! Relationships are difficult when it ends, especially when there are children involved. If there are children, I feel that if you focus on the message that you want your kids to receive and look within and be honest with YOU, it'll make it easier. Staying unhappy in a relationship or marriage for children is never a good message to send to them. There is light at the end of the tunnel and look for the positive in it, because it's ALWAYS a positive in every situation whether we see it right away or not. Be true to you, stay respectful, even if the other person isn't. Stay in character and move accordingly with lots of prayers, therapy and an awesome support system.

I don’t know. Yeah, I get that both people have to consent and sign on to get married but I feel like there should be a different avenue with divorce. Needing both people to sign it means that if one person doesn’t, they can essentially blackmail the other person. Like, I’ll sign if you do this. Or they can just “hold you hostage” and never sign. I definitely feel like it shouldn’t have be both people. Maybe you can just sign an affidavit and testify infront of a judge for why you want a divorce and they make it official? I dunno but the current process WACK.

@@lynne709 You definitely will need a attorney in most states to get the ball rolling. But they are $1,500 - $10,000 to retain, and $200-$500 an hr after that. In my opinion marriage is overrated, and if you add kids to the equation custody battles can come at any time after the divorce. I’m dealing with that now, and it’s been on going for two years due to Covid 19. And the whole time attorney fees just rack up! I’m happily single and can’t wait for this to be over and have my life back.

My divorce cost me $7 in 2018. My ex signed the decree 2x but dodged me for months. He said to me, B*tch I’ll show you that you don’t run sh*t. Little did he know, him abandoning the process allowed me to file a publication for divorce. I filed a poverty affidavit & the judge approved. After running an ad in the newspaper for 4wks, he contacted me. I told him what I did & the court date. He attended but left disgruntled because the judge didn’t appreciate his attempts to stall the process. I don’t wish that anguish on anyone. 🙏🏾
Some people think divorce is sad or hard it can be but it's a power in letting go. Having the strength to end a situation and move forward is a beautiful thing. I'm grateful everyday that I'm divorced from my ex husband and never have to wake up to his face

You can't stay in a dead thing for anyone else. When you know and you really tried to get them to work on it with you and it's still not working, it's time to let it go. The problem is that time is not static.
You 'll grow older and even elderly after which you'll find dating being hectic and draining.
Life in the first lane will obviously slow down.
Your partner may not understand this and so you won't enjoy the relationship.
Again,there is that inner fear that he could leave unceremoniously and catch you unaware.
Like,youren't sure about his next move.

I don't know how old you are, but keep in mind they have the time and money to do what it takes to keep their age from showing. Most celebrities are paying quite a fortune to remain youthful looking. I just saw comparison pics of Jennifer Lopez 10 yrs ago compared to today, she looks a lot younger now. Even my favorite gospel singing family they all look much younger now than they did 20 years ago. Yes, they all look good and healthy; but, I know it's not all natural.

Thank you for this topic. I find this helpful as I'm going through a divorce. I didn't want the divorce at first but as i looked at the situation my husband was already gone from the marriage. I find it hard to understand at times. Then i find times that i am happy and strong. It is very emotional for me but I know God make no mistakes. MC LYTE thank you I am a big fan from day one. In 2008 I buried my only son. I often refer to his passing as being similar to divorces because you have to give up on your hopes, dreams, and expectations.
Something it does seem like all of sudden. My ex told me on Christmas we are going to work on our marriage after he spent 18 months locked up and on New Years I want a divorce. That was very hard.

Not in FL. It only took 2 months for my divorce process. Filed the day after New Years. He was served on Feb. 14th and the divorce was finalized the end of February. No attorneys involved.
