I always liked Brian McClair. I can imagine him being a fantastic player to coach, as although by his own admission, he wasn't the most gifted player, he always seemed to have the knack of doing the right thing at the right time. Played the game simply but by Jove, he played it well.
You must have thought the hoodoo would never be broken after that, particularly with the poor start to the following season. But with the benefit of hindsight, Leeds did nothing else of note after winning the league, while United went on to become the dominant force for two decades. One wonders how different things would have panned out had Dublin not broken his leg…
First season going to Utd as a 6 year old. 1st ever game was Arsenal was hooked as soon as we equalised the atmosphere was immense so much better back then. Went to about 6 games including the super cup final remember us getting battered by red star but nicking a 1-0 lol remember going soton game and kanchelskis scoring with about 20 mins left to win 1-0 and everyone thought we were gonna win it after that. 4 games in 6 days to this day though was the most ridiculous thing ever and summed the league and fa up! Was very different a year later though…..
The home kit was excellent, but the away kit was just perfection. Nothing like it before or since - a stroke of genius by Adidas. I still have my original replica and I treasure it.
This was Ferguson’s first genuine title challenging United team. Ryan Giggs first full season, Peter Schmeichel & Andrei Kanchelskis added to the team, they won the league cup to add to more silverware but fell at the final hurdle to Leeds.
They pay more for one useless player nowadays than they did for that entire squad. And they have ½ a squad full of useless players.. and ¼ of mediocre ones.
Steve Bruce was scoring more goals in that season than Antony and J Sancho combined in their naff time at Manchester United so far !

M Hughes and B Mclair up front ! R Giggs and L Sharpe as wingers ! today it's M Rashford and A Martial up front 😮 and wingers J Sancho and Antony 😡
Such a disappointing end to the season but we played some good stuff that year. Thanks for the upload. #GlazersOut

Leeds were an old team and we bought their best player. The difference Cantona made was incredible. His overall play created so many goals in 92/93
One of the best videos I’ve seen. So many memories brought back.
Was at most of these games during that season
The disappointment of losing the league that Easter was horrific

No better home/away shirt combo in football history. Both 🔥

This season was the start of the monster United were to become over the next 20 years.
Those were the days,proper football👍
the season ended like that year, badly. Great football by UTD.
At that time less betting pressure. Honest football.
0:59 Brilliant dive
That Man City contingent behind that net is incredible.
What's the number count at the bottom left mean?
The goal count during Fergie's time at United.
