Actually, in ear monitors were a godsend to all the musicians on the state. I'm not talking about auto tune here. When my bro and his bands were playing rock n roll in the 50s and 60s, they would crank up the volume in the amps so high in order for the musicians to hear each other. I remember standing next to the amplifier towers to be able to hear the bass well. The vocalists were actually forced to sing louder than they should have because they couldn't tell if they were loud enough. Some of us, musicians ad audience, ended up with permanent mid- range hearing damage. First came the floor monitors, and then the ear monitors. They weren't trying to correct pitch, they were just trying to hear each other.

I remember when this came out! I was in my car, just running to town, listening to my car radio and out of nowhere came this spectacular sound! I was in amazement! THAT SOUND! OH, my GOODNESS! I still love this song after all of these years! Just think, NO autotune, no inhancement of any kind! This is when people actually tried to hone their craft and perfect their GOD given talent! They were so perfect! Bobby Hatfield died in 2005 from lung cancer, however Bill continued to sing, and at one time did get a replacement! Bill Medley later in life, along with Jennifer Warren, sang that phenomenol song for the movie, "Dirty Dancing", "I've Had The Time of My Life" won many Grammies and is the most loved song and also the best dance scene ever! These guys were the BEST! Unless you were alive for their impact, you wouldn't believe it! Thank you so much for reacting to them and bringing some much needed happiness into my dreary day! Thank you!🎉

They weren't Brothers but very good friends. Bobby Hatfield in my estimation was the best singer ever. Bobby Hatfield is the blond counter tenor, Bill Medley is the taller Baritone. So Soul & Inspiration, You'll Never Walk Alone (from the Ed Sullivan show) What I'd Say (with Andy Williams from same show as Unchained Melody. )Rock and Roll Heaven and Dream On for both "Brothers". Ebb Tide, My Prayer, Cryin in the Chapel, Stay with Me and the phenomenal Summertime by Bobby Hatfield. Georgia and the earlier suggestion for Bill.
For Fun, their first "rockin" hits
Little Latin Lupe Lu, My Babe, Koko Joe and I need Your Lovin Everyday all live performance on the show Shindig.(There are many more. ) oh and they are both 25 years old here.

@stanleywiggins5047 I’ve been Black for 65 years and 11.5 months. I have no idea how anyone can turn “No auto tune” into a Black or a rapper issue. It simply isn’t. Auto Tune has often been used in music today to enhance many mediocre singers’ voices. All races. Saying there was no auto tune means and ONLY means the sounds of their raw talent was just that, Raw Talent and Awesome. All of the groups we listened to several decades ago, Black, White and yes Purple with Yellow Polkadots sang without auto tune. People just hear it mentioned more often with the Righteous Brothers because their voices were so amazing and Bobby’s range was ridiculously unbelievable. It means it wasn’t enhanced. I laugh each time a reactor mentions how small the mics were back then. Why do they need such big mics now? When you can sing, all you need is a mic that doesn’t give you feedback.

“The Righteous Brothers” are considered by most to be the Greatest Male Vocal Duo Of All Time. I agree. Between Bill Medley’s Lows and Bobby Hatfield’s Highs they can hit every note on a piano. No other male singers can do that. Legendary.
“You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’’ was the most played song on radio in the 20th Century
"Unchained Melody" - Bobby Hatfield Live 1965 Andy Williams Show (with his mother sitting right behind him) Considered by most as The Greatest Live Male Vocal Performance In History... I agree. Bobby’s use of “Runs” is masterful. He created the style and set the table that all others have fed off of for decades. 7 notes just to say the word “I” is melodic brilliance.
Their name came from doing a show near a marine base in So Calif and a black marine said to them…. You two guys are Righteous Brothers.
In 1983, in Newport Beach O.C. Calif. Bill and Bobby at the Jolly Roger Restaurant . I was 13 feet away for... "Unchained Melody"- "You've Lost That Lovin Feeling" - "Soul And Inspiration".... They were perfect, awesome, amazing, incredible......

When a Righteous Brothers song would be played at a dance the girls would melt. Vocal harmonies like no one else. A couple of the original panty droppers. Like I said they melted the women and still do.

There are two film clips of them performing this song; in this one they are lip synching, the other was filmed live with an off stage orchestra and a choir in the background. It's often been said that Cher was a member of that choir ... Phil Specter's "Wall Of Sound" added a special layer to it as well.
But the rather significant historical backstory to the song, is that YLTLF had a great deal of air time on American radio.
Between 1964 and 2001 You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling was played at least 8,000,000 times, blowing away every piece of music ever played since radio was born.

So happy to see your face as you listen and discover these great songs again! Bless you for being open-minded and giving these artists a new listen. - -I am 73. And I first heard Bill and Bobby when I was 13, 60 years ago. You feel just like we did then, and still feel every time we hear it. Bill Medley & and Bobby Hatfield , we loved them, and their music was the backdrop of our lives. Please keep exploring and listening. I promise you won't be sorry.

Tom Jones, even at age 80 can BELT OUT a song like yesterday! He appeared on Ed Sullivan 1968 and sang "Delilah" and wow! Then on "The Voice" at age 80 sang a song called "Cry to Me". Sir Tom Jones is one that you REALLY should do a video on. Hope to see what you think!

I can't think of another duo that could possibly be as good as the Righteous Brothers. Both singers are extremely talented on their own, but together? Holy Cow!

They were not brothers. But maybe you already heard their story. They were the bomb and still are. I'm 68 years old and still listen to their music because it was pure talent. No auto tune, no editing. The mother of the blonde was a voice teacher. She taught him the importance of breathing fully when singing to be able to reach the high notes. He did her proud the time he sang Unchained Melody, he had a cold at the time and his parents were in the audience of that live taped tv show.

This song "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" made it to the Guinness Book of World Records as the most played and listen to song on the radio in the 20th Century. These are all facts. Bill Medley Baritone Voice and Bobby Hatfield Counter Tenor voice are the Dynamic Dou known as the 'Righteous Brothers.' Great reaction to a duo that were moderately famous back in their heyday of the 60's. They are more popular today than when they were performing these hits back in the 60's.

The one thing people need to know about The Righteous Brothers is that they WEREN'T related to each other. The duo was originally Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield, Bobby died in 2003. Also, remember that this was during a time when there wasn't a lot of electronics (auto-tune) for vocals; Bill Medley was a Bass and Bobby Hatfield was a Tenor to Countertenor for their vocal ranges.

    • @VirtualBabe29
      @VirtualBabe29 8 месяцев назад

Yes, Bill medley and Bobby Hatfield were not related. They got their name The
Righteous Brothers shortly after they performed near a military base in Cal. when a young black marine complimented their music "That was righteous, brothers"
