Those thread drops are beautiful, thanks for all the ideas ...gonna try some tomorrow, I wanna make a long rectangle one , to hold more flosses at one time :)))
@@CrossMyStitches Thanks, I;ve learned so much from you. I;ve Downed loaded the dropbox app, but don't know which Adobe app you used. The $9.99 one time is no problem. I've order the .5 inch punch and the corner punch. I have LOTS or wrapping paper I plan to put on card stock and get started.
@@avaallen7117 do to mean the app I use to view the patterns? That is Goodreader. I think it is all one word. Or are you talking about something else..
I Love Thread Drops. In all my years of stitching I have never heard of them and now that I have, I am going to start making them. I have several wips going, so now I will have to put the wips up and make thread drops. Thanks so much for your tutorial.
I made my own thread drops out of cardstock using a rectangular punch, round punch and one hole punch. I have them all hung on regular thread spool racks.
Thank is an awesome storage idea. I have one of those! I also have another idea and not sure it will work. I will share it after I give it a try first.
I’ve used Christmas cards to make floss drops, but never thought of photos! What a great idea, especially when you have duplicates (remember when we got a second set free at the drugstore?!) or similar photos that don’t all need to be in the photo album. This is also a great way to justify my scrapbooking supplies since I never have time to do that craft lol. Shelly
I love these thread drops! Never really thought about making my own...too many other things going on, but these look so easy!! Now for the hunt for some good punches. Thanks for the tutorial!
So glad I found your tutorial for making floss drops. You have such great ideas. Can you tell me what kind of glue you use to adhere the card stock to the scrapbook paper? Thanks!
I use Aleen's glue. You can anywhere. I purchased a mine bottle to put some in and add a drop or two to it to thin it down a little. You can use any paper glue as well. Thanks for watching! 😁
Thanks so much - I thought about making my own at Christmas with Christmas cards - now I got my punches just need proper glue - I would love a set of your thread drops 💗
What a neat way to keep threads with projects? I have used a tag punch to make some thread drops. But, I think I like the rectangular shaped ones better. Need to look for my Christmas cards. It would be fun to see a few of your thread drops with a project of mine.
Thanks for making this video. I love thread drops but woodier how people store the thread after they finish a project. Do they take the thread off and store it for another project? And when they show their thread drops they look so full. Like someone will show all their DMC for a project but it looks like it has about 3 or 4 skeins of DMC on the drop. These may be dumb questions but I've wondered about it for some time now. Thanks for any insight you can give me.
Susan, After I finish a project I will either put the floss back on my bobbins or I will store the thread drop with my other full skeins and use it on another project when I can. As far as the fullness of the thread drops, it really depends on the length of their floss on the drops if you store it shorter than I do mine then it will look fuller. Hope this helps!
Love your thread drops...l have been saving all the political cards to use too...the hole punch you use to put the rings in looks more ergonomic than mine...so I will look for one of those...and the edge rounder too...thanks so much❤️
Many thanks to you I am in the UK and no body seems to have them, to order them from US was going to cost a lot more than the punches really enjoying your channel. x
I love the "drops". I thought I'd make some just using thick paper that I find in gift boxes, devotional cards, or thick greeting cards...any type of thick paper that has pretty color or designs. I punch holes with the punches in different hole sizes.
I love thread drops! I have made some and am switching over from my previous round to rectangular. Yours are beautifully done. Thanks for the corner clip idea. I have some photos that I got with an old photo album at an auction that I saved for some reason. Now I have great material to use!! -Dragonflycait
First time watching your video!! I love thread drops, love your tutorial and now kicking myself for throwing away cards. Well I definitely will be keeping them from now on😊
I never heard of thread drops before. I’m going to make some looks like a fun project to do!!!! You could sell some of those!!! I would buy some since sometimes I’m to lazy to make them or I don’t feel well enough to make them.
I am glad you found the video helpful and they are fun to make. If you do not want to make them yourself, there are lots of them for sale on Etsy and I am sure you can find some really cute ones there. Jacque
Great tutorial. Thank you! I love thread drops. I’ve never made any, but I’m definitely going to make some now. I love your idea of using old cards or photos.
I love thread drops! Bought my first set, but now I'm making my own. I hadn't thought about photos. I love the idea of recycling cards too. Thanks for sharing.
I use them sometimes, but not all the time. I am a bobbinator for the most part, but find these great for large projects where I want to precut all my floss.
I love thread drops! Thanks for the tutorial proving to me that my scrapbooking supplies can be crossover useful! Now....where are they stored and in what box? Thanks for sharing.... Until next time.....
Ok using cards is GENIUS!!! I’ve been gluing scrapbook paper to cardstock and I just threw out a ton of cards Grrr. I won’t do that again. Thanks for a great idea. Also own a Cricket and it never occurred to me to use it. Duh
Hi Collette, if you are interested in purchasing thread drops you can go on Etsy and I am sure you will find vendors from Canada selling them. Thanks for watching!!
Good video! I round my corners too. The palms of my hands are very sensitive due to a disorder I have and I can’t stand the pointy corners. I use thread drops for club kits that come with thread bundles and I use them to split a skein of thread between several projects.I love thread drops.
Great idea with the kits. I am going to start using them for my DMC when I am kitting and know I will not need a full skein on the project. Buying skeins for every project can get expensive.
I love thread drops. Thanks for the tutorial. Now how do u put the thread on the drop to make it look so neat. How do u know how much to put on the drop to put in project bag? I Bobbinate my thread so not sure these would work for me. Have a good weekend. 😊
Those thread drops are beautiful, thanks for all the ideas ...gonna try some tomorrow, I wanna make a long rectangle one , to hold more flosses at one time :)))
That is a great idea Christine!
Love the thread drops. You are always sharing such good and practical info. Thank you for that.
You're welcome :-)
Love thread drops. Thanks for a expensive and creative way to keep my floss organized.

Great tutorial. I love thread drops. You gave me some great ideas. I used to scrapbook and I have a ton of punches. They will get used again.
Pull those scrapbook supplies and get to work! 😁

Thanks Pauline. You too!
I use thread drops all the time - would love to use colorful ones for projects that get started on a whim !
So easy to make with any recycled items you have.
I love thread drops - am subscribed but have all settings on ‘private mode’ - not sure if that makes a difference
I am considering using Christmas 2021 cards to make thread drops for a Christmas sampler by The Scarlett House.
I am sure they will look awesome. I have done it several times with different seasonal cards. Jacque

How do you label your thread drops? Especially if using really colorful designs where writing on them may not show up!
I would just use a black sharpie if I was using a colorful print on both sides.
I love thread drops, and I have just ordered my punches, many thanks.

Thanks for sharing how to make the thread drops! Do you glue the paper to the card stock first or cut separately, when you use your silhouette?
I cut them separately and glue them together most times. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for that. I have a punch so must try this. I have loads of photos and Christmas/birthday cards so I'm excited to get started.
