    Thank you so much for this tutorial. You have helped me with my university course work so much. I really struggled to find an easy to understand and clear tutorial on how to render with Twilight and use the lighting - so happy I came across your channel! I am new to rendering and this has given me the confidence to explore it and play around with it. Keep up the good work, and thank you so much again!

    Awesome video. I've been working with ketchup to build desk models for quite a while and have been happy with the simplicity of the program. I have just recently decided to dive in a bit deeper and I am loving what I am uncovering. It's amazing what can be done with this program and the free twilight render plug in. Thanks for the tutorial this will make my work that much better.

    I take it that there is no hard-edged interior lighting that displays inside the preview window, the way that sunlight does on a model's exterior? I'm just looking for something I can use as a guide to hand-rendering shadows. Thanks! Very good tutorial, btw, ;) BTW: If I use a Section Slice to "remove" a ceiling, would the outdoor Sun have any influence on the interior? (For once, someone doesn't *_want_* soft shadows!)

    Thank you and just what I wanted to know. Since 2 years ago. I wish to have my Patreon subscription ended. This is another example of knowing you were never listening to what I was saying I wanted to learn while being your Essentials student.. You never mentioned this series was available and I asked many questions and told you my goals? The "conversation with "you guys" seems to be only one way?

    • @Thesketchupessentials
      @Thesketchupessentials  3 года назад

      Well first of all I'm a bit disappointed (and confused) to hear you say this, especially considering the number of questions I answered both as you went through the course and as you were in the community. I tried to be as responsive as I could be and I'm sorry you feel that I didn't meet your expectations.
      Last we spoke, your goal was to learn to use Blender for 3D modeling and rendering, which as I recall was the reason you left the community (which is fine by the way, but I can't support Blender modeling inside a SketchUp community). I'm not sure how a video on a series about Twilight Render aligns with that goal, so once again...confused.
      As to the Patreon subscription, you're going to have to go cancel that yourself. You have full control over your support and I actually can't go in and change your subscription in any way. Thank you for your support

    • @Thesketchupessentials
      @Thesketchupessentials  Год назад +1

      You'd want to apply an emissive material to the bulb to make it glow - the light comes from the artificial light object, the glow comes from the emissive material

Now it takes FOREVER to render a prelim (I have No idea how long it is actually taking, I've never had the patience to wait more than 15 min for a prelim)! I don't know what happened. They talk about that a bit in this forum post - www.twilightrender.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=4763 - seems like adding emitters usually really slows down renders, so be careful how and when you use them, and also try to minimize the number of faces that are emitters. Thanks!
