    I like how it is plug and play, rather than a reflash. Makes me want to get one of the new seadoo 300 models.

    Proper torque on spark plugs is critical, it is easy to find in your manual.

    Does sacrifice oil have to be the same 5w 40 synthetic blend or any cheap one would do?

    • @watercraftjournal
      @watercraftjournal  5 лет назад +1

      Ideally, you'd like it to be the same quality as a cheaper oil may have inferior bonds or even detergents, which will break down the bonds of a superior oil.

    • @moerocco7954
      @moerocco7954 5 лет назад +1

      In our video you can see us use a non-XPS brand for the sacrifice oil. Although BRP doesn't recommend it, it is doable. You should be fine.

    How many modifications do you suppose it takes before it's no longer "bone-stock"?

    • @watercraftjournal
      @watercraftjournal  5 лет назад +1

      Admittedly, true "bone stock" would've been with stock sponsons. The RIVA sponsons provide some drag. If the blades were moved up, I might've picked up some speed.

    Hi Kevin, do you know if the SCOM is compatible with the SeaDoo factory X-module that adds the Ski mode? I think it plugs into the same spot?
    Thanks,
    DC

    • @watercraftjournal
      @watercraftjournal  4 года назад +1

      Dan Conlan No the X-module does not plug into the same spot as the SCOM. Watching this video and reading the article that accompanies it should clear that up.

    • @danconlan8735

      Thanks for the quick reply Kevin, I appreciate it. I went to order the SCOM at RIVA for my 2019 RXT X300 and saw this note at the bottom of the order page:
      NOTE: Stock ECU limits peak RPM for first 5 hours of operation. Top speed increases should be measured after 5 hour break in period. Cannot be connected inline with BRP accessory modules on 2019 & newer Sea-Doo models. So do you know if the x ski module is not considered a BRP accessory module? Sorry to keep asking questions!
      Thanks,
      DC

    • @watercraftjournal
      @watercraftjournal  4 года назад

      No, it's not. The RIVA SCOM was installed on a RXT-X 300 as you can see.

      FYI:
      Hi DC,
      A new answer to your question has been received.
      06/07/20
      Q: I have a 2019 RXT X300 with the x mode ski Module will this still work? I’m asking based on the NOTE: Stock ECU limits peak RPM for first 5 hours of operation. Top speed increases should be measured after 5 hour break in period. Cannot be connected inline with BRP accessory modules on 2019 & newer Sea-Doo models. Thanks
      06/10/20
      A: Unfortunately, only one module may be added at a time. While not ideal, you can switch from one module to another as needed without issue.

    Do you remove the screw on spark plug tips on the 2016 sea doo 4tec with the newer ignition coils that screw to the valve cover? I know the tips had to be removed on the older style ones that didn't have a screw.

      Did you listen to Kevin? It doesn't touch your ECU in any way whatsoever. It interrupts the speed limiter signal between the dashboard and the ECU. It doesn't store anything.
