Hey Chadwick, welcome back, and thanks for another great video. I noticed the new "finishing editor" title that pops up near your head in the frame. Nice look. On the renaming topic, you can use return or enter (num pad) to select the clip's name, then use either left or right arrow so you can add a prefix or suffix to the name. You can save F2 for another cool function. :-) And one more text selection thing: Command + L/R arrow keys will get you to the beginning or the end of the clip name you're editing. (And yeah, adding Shift will select the whole thing.) Looking forward to the next set of tips!

Very very usefull. I can tell you are a real video editor and not someone drawing attention with DVR gimmicks!!!
Hi Chadwick. Always find something new from your tips. Have a few for you. Never lose your timeline with smartbins. In preferences->User->Editing->Automatic Smart Bins-> checkbox Smart bin for Timelines. Also, I use a shortcut "Find Current Timeline in Media Pool"

In the upper left. Click the clips drop down. These options will filter your timeline down. You can filter by clip color here, then use that to select and make a group. Cheers!

You stole a tip I have for an upcoming video but ill spoil it for ya. Option or alt click the master bin. Yes you have to do this everytime you launch it but it fixes it.
Hey love your videos man. got any tips for when you have 2d timeline scrolling disabled but still want to scroll vertically on the timeline? i disabled this feature so i can scroll horizontally on the timeline without holding down ctrl. you would think that this would reverse the ctrl key modifier to allow me to scroll vertically on the timeline while holding ctrl, but no lol it just completely disables that feature for me. got any ideas?

Hey thank you! I have several videos queued up and hope to post weekly again starting mid September. There is no timer but you should out that request on the black magic forum. They pay attention there. You're not the first to ask for this. Personally I use timery on a mac which connects to toggle. It is about $10 year or so but has all my ridiculous hours across many jobs. The best part is I can trigger from my phone or any computer I'm on.
Amazing insider knowledge as always... Although I do wonder if some of these shortcut end up being faster than a mouse? What's your opinion? Like say I want to move something from one bin to another with the cut and paste shortcut operation ninja style.. But then I figured with the mouse it should be faster to just drag and drop into the other bin
Thanks - For sure sometimes these make much more sense to do with a mouse like moving between bins. I just find it fun to figure out all the ways. Lately I've had a lot of right hand wrist issues so the less I use the mouse the better.
