The 4B movement sounds fine to me. Drastically reduces abortion and promotes chastity which is a virtue. And if not talking and having sex or engaging with men in general they are already doing that for the most part nothing changes maybe only for those in relationships but hey if your relationship shatters from that then it was never meant to be which I think saves both parties times and effort
I'm a gay man (politically trending towards libertarianism), and from my outside perspective I find this is also political self-harm in the sense that it's not at all going to get the result its participants want. *One of* (not the) the reasons why some younger men have been pushed towards the right is the messaging they get from some right wing figures, called the manosphere by the left, that a) society doesn't see their value as men, b) society wants to take power away from men, and c) women don't want equality anymore but rather supremacy. I don't agree with these thoughts but a lot of younger men that have socially struggled resonate with that messaging regardless of whether it's true. So then, if you're a young man that's been pushed to the right and you agree with those points, a "boycott" the kind of 4B is only going to confirm these messages for you. Women deciding to not even engage with men because they disagree politically won't make men change their mind, it'll only push them further away. Nobody should be forced to stay in a relationship or have sex with someone they don't want, but if a hetero relationship was otherwise going great yet the woman breaks up with the man only because their political disagreements, that's *definitely* not going to make men suddenly turn left-wing in the slightest.
Somewhat related but I also think this is part of the reason that "Your Vote, Your Choice" ad was repelling to some people. Aside from suggesting that a lot of Trump supporters are abusers (and also that those women are knowingly smarter and happier than those awful men as they vote for Harris), I've always wondered if part of the "silent Trump supporter" phenomenon is guys feeling like they need to hide their support for Trump (or their frustration with Democrats) from more left/liberal leaning women. To be clear, that's not something I recommend men doing. But I do wonder if it's something a lot of men think about.
"Only because of their political disagreements" You buried the lede here. If a boyfriend thinks his girlfriend should be forced to carry an ectopic pregnancy to term, or carry her rapist's baby to term, then a woman isn't just breaking up over politics - she's breaking up over basic morals.
@@johnpaulherrera703 Totally, but that might not be how the man sees it, especially if it's sudden and in this particularly tense time right after the election results. If you were one of these men, and your girlfriend broke up with you because you voted for Trump, your first intuition might be "damn, Andrew Tate was right". And even if not, a sudden breakup makes you more mentally vulnerable to manipulation, which could push otherwise moderate men that simply didn't like the Democrat platform more into thinking that way. Again, I agree that nobody should be forced to stay in a relationship if this severe of a disagreement matters to them, but to do it less for personal reasons and more as part as a pseudo-organised "boycott" is only going to make things worse for those participating.
@@johnpaulherrera703 The OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of people-both men and women-on the pro-life side has said "No abortion, with the exceptions for rape, incest, and endangering the life of the mother". This is the normal among pro-life advocates. You need to stop taking your ideas from reddit, and think seriously about how absurd that position you're advocating is. It's equivalent to saying "pro-abortion advocates believe in deleting babies even post-birth" or "pro-abortion is just pro-death". The fact that you can uncritically parrot this talking point says a lot, and you may need to detox from a cult.
VERY well explained! New subscriber here🙋🏼♀️! I'm an (American) English teacher in South Korea and seeing everything going on in my home country is so frustrating. I explain to people I talk to in the US that 4B doesnt really exist here and they just don't believe me...😅
Tell them that it's a small (or even fringe, if that's accurate) movement, so much so that many average people don't know about it. It's the wording "it doesn't really exist here" that seems patently wrong to them. The fact seems to be that it does in fact exist but it doesn't have a lot of influence.
@tabby7189 the fact of the matter is the 4B movement is not the reason that Korean women are not getting married. There are other cultural and societal factors that are going into the low birth rate of South Korea.
@@alannabirkla I'm aware of that, and that the current structure of the age pyramid risks pushing the country further into this self-effacing and unsustainable cycle. It's worrying.
same. i was telling my sister this. i told her is not a big movement there if there is a 4b its very very small. my sister is thinking they have marches there etc when i go and google it and youtube its western women
I am actually happy those women try to culturally appropriate this fringe 4b movement. I wish these women actually deliver on their promises, and if they don't, I wish they realize their folly.
I found your videos just before the election and am so glad I did! Thanks for talking about the topics you cover. I have an interest in South Korea so I had heard of 4B around 2021 when there was increased talk about the gender wars in Korea and anti feminism because of movements like 4B (both male and female were opposed to the ideology). I thought the movement either died or remained very fringe, so I was so surprised to hear it make a resurfacing here in America!!! I don't see many people sticking to it but I guess it will get people's attention...temporarily.
The tiktokers talking about the 4b movement are just doing it for attention. They know that its not going to change anything. They know that the vast majority of women don't want to be associated with them. They sob and whine in front of the camera so a bunch of random people coddle them in the comments.
I don't think they are trying to win politically. The point of exploring fringe ideas like this is to get people to think about their options. Many women (especially republican women) simply assume that they have to be in a relationship to be a good, worthy person, and that they are failures if they do not. This leads many women to be in abusive relationships and there are plenty of times where one sees (on discussion forums) statements like "my BF forced himself on me last night but he is my BF so he is entitled to my body right?" So many women don't understand that you aren't just trying to find anyone who will have you and then you put up with their shittiness as a compromise. There are sooooo many republican women who are unhappy in their relationships but stick with it because there is so much shame and stigma associated with being a women who didn't follow her marriage vows of "for better or worse". The 4B movement at it's heart (not necessarily in it stated head) is one which shows women they shouldn't tolerate being abused and that you don't just randomly pick one and lower your head to their wishes just because they are better as bluster and violence. If this level of violence and degradation didn't come from men (of course it happens the other way around too but we are specifically talking within the context of the 4B movement) then there would be no reaction. For every action there is a equal and opposite reaction, the 4B movement is a reaction to the influence of the growing incel, and conservative men who are essentially causing abortion bans even for people who have been raped or who are likely to die giving birth while knowing absolutely nothing about how bodies even work. This 4B movement is not meant to be against normal lovely guys, it is a reaction against people who say things like "she was asking for it", "her body, my choice", etc. Your suggestion that it doesn't work over the long term because republicans are growing in numbers faster also doesn't take into consideration that as farming becomes more automated then more children of republicans will be educated and become more worldly (and a more worldly person is usually a better partner because they have more real experience to draw from) and leave republicanism as their population grows. Furthermore, it doesn't make sense to think about what will happen in 20 years time when kids being born now can vote. Instead it makes sense to show women that they don't need to tolerate shitty behaviour now by providing alternatively. And while there is an argument that a less extreme form of feminism would get more takers, this already exists and is so nebulous that it's hard to define and very broad in definition, but sometimes it takes a figurative kick in the head for people to take notice. The average american christian republican who was taught to just cook and clean and that higher learning, education, and a fulfilling life outside of the home is not allowed for them, benefits from hearing on the news about women who are providing an alternative way of life. It being on the news allows them to be shown a slice of an alternative life that the one laid out by their mum, dad and community at large around them. The movement is about creating noise above their present indoctrination and expectation. Being that this is such an extreme version of feminism it naturally wants to stop itself (sub-consciously) from becoming a populist movement because it is unhealthy for society, but so is the violence and subduing of women trapped in lifestyles that were chosen for them by their parents.
So you're saying there are crazy women on their phones all day following some random thing online like a religion and we should care if they date someone who is focused on making money? 🤣
While there is no problem with including subtitles, they are completely unnecessary. Your diction is exemplary and your pronunciation is clear. I also commend you on your well-researched and well-thought-out arguments. Are you a college student? If so, what is your major?
I think the left could rely on immigration to prop up their political agenda -- not that immigrants are necessarily culturally liberal, but there might still be stronger incentives to swing left. I've heard the argument that Korea should relax it's immigration policy due to the collapsed birthrate (but other countries aren't far behind so not much of a long-term solution)
I have no problem with "cultural appropriation". If "cultural appropriation" didn't happen then at least 90% of humanity would still be hunter-gatherers.

Its natural selection in the form of an idea which I think is actually a turning point in evolution.
The 4B movement is literally like the old concept, Rubbish In Rubbish Out. You give people bad information they’ll give you bad advice
Interesting. godspeed, brother. subbed.
It’s usually unattractive women doing the 4b stuff.
Indeed and I'm ok with this. They are just going to make it easier to find a good spouse.
I would love your take, as a Korean, on why the birthrate in Korea is so low.
he has a video about this you just have to scroll down his channel
