My mother is very left leaning and blue. She reposts anything that might even look like extreme liberal media. This was my first year I’ve gotten to vote. I’m 21 and independent from her. I’ve even gotten married and work for a living and consider myself an American who just wants best for America. I voted for Donald Trump. My mother, along with a lot of family she’s managed to manipulate (saying things like, if you vote for Trump you’re X) have berated me and threatened to ex communicate me. I’m her one and only son that has just grown into an ignorant failure, racist, sexist, bigot. It really is sad.
A lot of people are having to deal with what you are saying. Now that the left is being a bit self reflective, there is a chance hysterical women will come back to earth.
I’m sorry :( even in my more “liberal” days the idea of cutting off family was so crazy to me. Sadly this type of thing happens on both sides of politics I grew up with friends who won’t even talk to me now because I vote blue. The reality is these certain people are wired like this and not much you can do to change them. Your choices are choosing your personal politics over having a healthy relationship with your mother or it’s not that hard to just lie about who you voted for if it angers your mom that much
I have never seen such stark contrast in behavior of two mainstream political parties. I mean, blaming voters and calling them trash for not voting for you? Are you for real?
Trump calls his opposition things like "vermin" and the "enemy from within". The Republican Party is actively trying to take away the rights of lgbtq people and women. There is no contrast. One side calls the other names, the other says that they have mental illnesses and are acting on their words.

While he’s a billionaire he actually worked very hard in the real (business and investing) world to get where he is. He actually had a successful non-political career unlike many of our politicians.

This is one of the best, insightful and impassionate summaries of this election cycle that is have heard. Maybe it helps that as a foreigner he is better able to analyze and summarize without a “dog in the hunt”?
THIS! Many dont know this but "The economy, stupid" is a phrase that was coined by Jim Carville in 1992. It is often quoted from a televised quip by Carville as "It’s the economy, stupid." Carville was a strategist in Bill Clinton's successful 1992 U.S. presidential election against incumbent George H. W. Bush.
@@meilinchan7314 the same plans she stole directly from trump? the "policies" she claimed to say were hers when trump's website stated all of HIS polices and she repeated them?
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Ungjin, it is fascinating hearing your take on US politics as someone from Korea! Especially since you speak so calmly and without a huge bias for or against one candidate or party. Great job!
Thank you for your video. It’s crazy that a normal, unbiased person who just goes to 1 rally from each party can so clearly identify the problems with the Democratic Party. They still cannot understand why they lost. Thanks for speaking so clearly to this!
Very insightful video. It frustrates me that people can come in and view whats there and come to a rational conclusion. I myself am canadian, I was curious when Trump first won the election against Hillary. I wanted to know what he said and why people liked him. So I looked. Back then I came to the conclusion that most people wanted lower taxes, smaller government, orderly legal immigration. Normal things. Everyday things. They were not the ists and phobes I was told they were. On the contrary, I agreed with them. I’m not a crazy white nationalist. I’m a first generation canadian. I guess if I look at how I thought in the past, you could say I was a classical liberal. It was VERY CLEAR that the media was lying. Public figures were lying. Do they forget that everything is recorded? We can see what was actually said and not what they say was said. But if you pointed that out there was more name calling, more moralizing. I just couldn’t get my head around it. How could they be so far removed from reality I thought. Then things got worse. If you didn’t want pornographic books at childrens schools, if you didn’t want men in bathrooms/change rooms where women are vulnerable, if you didn’t think it was fair or safe that men were in women’s sports you’re on the wrong side of history. You’re a bad person. They let you know how much they hate you and want you to suffer. It’s insanity. Voting for Trump for many people is just a vote for sanity. Safety. I want to be able to say men are not women. It’s not hatred towards anyone. It’s like saying water is wet, the sky is blue. People can come in, look, and see what is there. But leftists can’t. They just can’t. It’s odd. I guess their ideology won’t let them. Like you pointed out they’re still blaming the isms. Still moralizing. So frustrating. To be honest I can’t take these people seriously anymore. Before I thought that a lot of people were behaving that way because they thought they were helping or protecting whatever minority group. I didn’t hate them. I at least tried to see where they were coming from. But now i’m not so sure they actually care at all about the things they say they do. Its about EGO. They just have to be right. It’s their religion. They can’t have compassion for the heretics. (Us) I’m not sure what the answer is. It’s like they need a cult deprogrammer to bring them back to reality.
Frustrated as well Indeed its the ego. America’s core value of Individualistic freedom is at odds with social progressivism. Its a fine line between personal liberty and communal responsibility that, the left has been struggling to understand.
Congratulations on your growing channel! May you have continued success with your book!!! From an "uneducated white woman", as I went to a TRADE/VOCATIONAL school and spent the last 13 years as a HOSPICE NURSE.
Dear Mr. Ungjin: Excellent analysis. You "nailed it". We hope you also learned something that us uneducated Americans have a lot of humility. We do not wish harm on anyone. We just wish to have a better life for ourselves and our children. The American Dream is alive. Thank you for your insightful video.
Great video! I’ve been noticing the word “uneducated” going around a lot in the left these last few days too. It’s pretty arrogant and snobby. And, even though I have a degree and will be getting another one by next year, I take offense to that term. Suggesting that if you’re uneducated and you shouldn’t vote is very dangerous idea. I’m just so glad we live in a country where the educated and uneducated can vote to have their concerns heard.
do you think facts care about feelings? there is no doubt that there is A STRONG correlation with misinformed, uneducated voters and their ballot choice of trump. the less you know about politics and the facts of the matter, the more you're likely to vote for trump.
@ so you’re saying the left is not misinformed at all?? I can point out a bunch of things they’re misinformed about. Just because you’re “educated” means nothing. I know plenty of people who came out of college and are ignorant about American history and politics, but they can tell you all about their useless majors like painting, women’s studies, dance theory, etc. I have a good friend who just got a doctor’s degree in education who voted for Kamala and she asked me if the Democrats were red or blue… Really? I know you were trying to take a jab at me with this “we’re educated so we’re right” thing. It means jack s#!t to me, especially when you hear college kids/graduates say stupid things like “men can get pregnant” or “latinx.”
@@misstowerflower_rapture_watch What are your issues with the official rate number or how they calculate it? Is there a different metric you feel is more accurate to your situation?
I just subscribed - as a disgruntled life-long Democrat, I did not find the election results suprising at all, for the many reasons you discuss. I am very glad to have found your channel. You are thoughtful, intelligent, and sincere in your commentary. I too hope for great success for you and your channel here!
Hey there! I am a former kindergarten teacher and current tutor. I hold a degree but leaned towards the right this time. There are so many reasons. From the economy to the fact that Kamala literally would not tell us any of her policy. Pair that with how she hijacked the nomination without a single person from the party voting for her. The name calling is despicable. The whole thing screams narracist projection. They were literally doing everything they claimed Trump would do. They had such blinders on because they don't care about my students. They care about being popular.
Hi Mr. Ungjin. Just wanted to say I appreciate your commentary. I think your insights in the video were spot on. You have a very nice way with words. This sounds AI generated my bad, but yeah just thought you deserved some positive vibes. Hope you're doing well
I'm amazed at how quickly as an outsider that you were able to drill down to the core of the issue and grasp the disconnect between elite media and academia and regular voters that drove the election. I saw your video previously saying you were going to be back in South Korea after your time here was through, but if you're ever looking for a new home America needs more citizens like you
I voted for Trump in 2016. I went to college and for a brief time went hard left. When I graduated I hated both sides. Voted independent in 2020 to vote my heart vs the lesser of the two evils. I planned to vote independent again but the candidate I wanted was pushed out. I voted for the lesser of the two evils this time and voted on pure objective reasoning. Aka Trump. I did not tell anyone who I voted for but commentated on the election the night it took place and received over 200 death threats in the process from the left. At this point I am leaning right. I dislike it, I think there is a lot of questions to be answered in the last 8 years but if this is what it's come to - the right at this current time is the only answer.
Its cool to see your take on all of this. I've been a mid-right leaning guy for all of my fairly young life. I've lived in a very left leaning city - to the point where everyone assumes that you are also one of them. It's crazy how much of an echo-chamber it is for them here. These are all very educated people, and many very silly things get voted through/perpeutated here because of identity politics. Some day I hope to leave here but my family is also here. It's quite suffocating to live in an environment where it is not ok to be your true self because you get labeled all of the things you mention if you don't conform with their beliefs. Right leaning people aren't bad. Not even close. I'm pretty sure most of us just want to be left alone and to not have the government spending a ton of our hard earned money in ways that will never help us. We don't care about your race/etc. Just that you're a good person and pull your weight. Honestly, the more educated people are here, the "dumber" they seem. More out of touch I suppose.
My mother is not high school educated and a refugee. Yet, she is one of the smartest people I know, and has a lot of past experience to draw her intelligence on. Education is not everything. Although, I’ll say some of the stupidest people I’ve met were not very educated either, so it’s a toss up 😂
Hopefully in next 4 years Democrats will find some really good candidate. Instead of voting against someone, they should find a candidate people would vote for instead
Amen brother! Democrats want to talk about class struggle when they never struggled a day in their lives, they forget that its always the poor versus rich not smart versus dumb people.
The Democratic Party needs to totally reevaluate their approach to be more populist, and moralise their policies more if they want to win any election in the next 20 years. This election was a rude reality check.
It would be amazing if they headed back towards the political center. Its funny how a lot of the "Right Wingers" are just normal liberal guys from 20 years ago. They're the same as they were back then.
It is good you see the distinction between their misuse of "educated" when they really mean "college-matriculated". There is a difference between schooling and education. "Education, properly a drawing forth, implies not so much the communication of knowledge as the discipline of the intellect, the establishment of the principles, and the regulation of the heart. Instruction is that part of education which furnishes the mind with knowledge." Even a century ago, it was acknowledged that all college did was create an environment where students were forced to develop the ability to learn and contemplate with discipline and emotional control. Sadly, many programs incentivize the opposite these days and instead force ideological conformity as a class signal
Excellent analysis, and the video clips were well chosen to exemplify the points being made. Most of our American journalists could take a page out of this young man's book.
College educated but not educated enough to manage their student debt. What's the point of having a degree if it is deemed useless by the employers or if you cannot use it to build a business?
Kudos to your honesty and transparent opinions 👍 I'm not American but the left/right isn't exclusive to America, it's in a lot of 1st world countries too, which reflects on basically almost every human's daily life (since any 2nd or 3rd worlder will interact or observe at least one 1st worlder a day)
I am college educated and my husband got a master from an Ivy League but he’s comfortable relating to average blue collar people in our church more coz he said they are down to earth , hardworking and sensible people. We also have friends who are college educated who find Trump messages definitely resonate with us more than the other team. And we are Asians. Ps. Went for dinner at a Korean operated restaurant last night, asked the boss if she was happy with the result. She jumped up & down and said yes!
Isn't it crazy how Trump, a billionaire who lived his entire life in a Manhattan skyscraper with his name on it, is viewed as a representative of the working class? While Harris, who worked her way up through public service, has "luxury beliefs"
Donald Trump coming from the private sector means him spent more time with the working class. His rallies are attended by working class fans of his. Of course he can speak better to the working class then someone who needs every mainstream celebrity to endorse her.
This whole phenomenon was really interesting for me. I'm very right wing, but I have multiple degrees. (philosophy) I also make less money than many working-class people. So I know a lot of the slogans of the elites, but feel the pain of the normies. It's really hard getting full-time work in academia if you aren't a left-wing activist.
President Trump. :) All other presidents have been referred to as "president (name)" or "former president (name)." The left calls Trump "Mr. Trump" as a subtle dig/insult to Trump. I like that you seem to present what you see in as unbiased a way as you can, Unjin. I'm glad i found your channel and look forward to listening to your videos and insights on other topics. I've enjoyed the videos I 've watched this morning.
Really nice overview here. It may not need someone who was an active voter in the last election to call out the surface-level disparity of views and motives, but damn if it doesn't hit home harder because of it. Well framed.
I disagree with the fact calling voters uneducated is elitist - isn't that political correctness that the right wing claims to disdain? There were a lot of views that I found that people espoused which betrays a basic understanding of political functioning. Voter ignorance and misinformation is a real issue in the USA and most democracies - refusing to addressing this issue for what it is reeks of political correctness as to not offend the ignorant voter. I would only call it elitist when the qualification of ignorance is used to deride their worth in the political process - something which they are entitled to by virtue of being citizens. It would be elitist to someone views just because you disagree with them. It is however not elitist to call out the sheer mental acrobatics that some and suspension of reason that many voters performed to justify their choices.
@loretta6089 I truely hope so! I want to be true! I think whoever takes upon the presidency should care for all the issues! Thats the only way to move forward and prosper
@lorenraynes4182 You can put all your fears to rest. Trump is literally the only person capable to fix all our problems and trust me when i tell you he will do it
@@loretta6089 What happened in his first term? People have a short memory on how awful his first term was. They think he was responsible for Obama’s economy and they forget how awful he handled the pandemic. So much promises that were, and are, unfulfilled.
@xXEdXx17 Where were you. He did so many incredible things. Stopped illegals from coming across the border, didn't start any new wars, had peace in the middle east, tax cuts and he fixed Obama horrendous economy and that's just to name a few. As far as covid there were people in this govt that worked against him not to mention the left and the media scaring the crap out of people when there was nothing to fear. People died because the doctors handled it wrong. I'll bet you got the jab
I am very “white privileged” only because of my Dad who made his own way, has 3 degrees, and is one of the leading engineers in his field in the world. However, because I am from the south and my family is from the south I have always been told by media and liberals that we’re all uneducated, racist, fools. I have two degrees and while those blue states may be highest educated, every state these days is absolutely filled with college graduates. Before the 1960’s the majority of the classically educated held completely different beliefs from our modern educated “elite”. There is so much pompous pride in the left’s position it’s insufferable. Kamala was a DEI hire and they’re so privileged that they forgot that the president actually needs to be good at their job. Even more than all this my number 1 reason for voting for Trump, even more than agreeing with his policies, is the threat that “liberals” have become to free speech. They use labels to push to make those who disagree with them literally criminals. It’s happening in the UK right now. People are being arrested for simply disagreeing or questioning the position of the ruling class. Disagreement had been labeled violent or hate speech and so they are imprisoned. That is the beginning of the end of liberty. No matter what your politics, that cannot happen here, and for the last 8 years liberals have pushed it harder and harder. This video should have a million views.
Very very well said! The one thing that was missing in your comment is that Kamala actually came out and said she would like to throttle free speech platforms. She also wanted to shut down Twitter. Look it up she said it. That's scary stuff and that's what Nazi Germany did. Other countries that have the media at their disposal is what Kamala was trying so very hard to do, our media is just a arm of the Democrat party. It's very sad but that's one reason why they lost. Twitter and I assume all the other platforms are so much different because they can correct themselves but the mainstream media has all the same mantras. It's obvious when you watch the different companies all say the same thing. Very sad where our country has gone and I truly hope Trump can try to change things. I've seen my country and have been somewhat observant of politics since the Vietnam war. As a person born in 1951 I have seen a lot of change. A lot of divisive and angry politics coming from the left. I do think the Lord that the right is the more gentler of the two political sides. You won't find a bunch of conservatives burning down federal buildings or police departments. It's just not our nature. Anyway God bless you kiddo, I hope you enjoy your stay in America and you would be a very welcome addition as far as I'm concerned.
And of course I ended up talking about this young man who made the video and the videos I've watched now. Very well spoken and seems to be very well educated. Welcome to America if you read this.
A great breakdown, thank you. The working classes of the world always rise up because we are the majority. The elite classes forget that. I would have accepted the outcome regardless. But I can't deny I'm over the moon with the result. He can truly crack on and get the USA roaring back to full strength domestically and on the world stage once again. He does need to avoid the pitfalls of sparring with the media as that just wastes time. Congrats to the USA! 🎉❤😊
Very good analysis but when you said casually looked down upon I have to say that's not quite right. When you call 50% of the nation garbage that's even more insulting than when Hillary Clinton called us deplorables. I think that's what kind of turned people's heads quite severely when suddenly you realize they think of you as garbage. I think it's an insult and just because I'm not in the elitist class doesn't mean I can't think or contribute to this society. They feel that they are superior and that's why being called garbage shows you what they think of the working class.
trump called democrats fascists, and conservatives have called liberals baby murderers for years. aren't those much worse than just...."garbage"? why do you have this extremely unbalanced double standards?
this is why Im done with the democrats until they realize this and stop trying to play identity politics, I was born and raised in NYC and most of my life considered left wing but close to the middle but as soon as being left wing became about playing identity politics and asking for free stuff I stopped playing this dumb game of vote blue no matter who. Especially now since I moved out of the city and became a blue collar worker, and have bills to pay the choice is even more obvious. Put it like this, everyone I know who has a family, has a job/career/business, has a home, plenty of bills, or live paycheck to paycheck all voted for Trump. My friends in new york who all live off some sort of assistance, or stay with family and dont have jobs/career/business aka dont have real problems, vote for kamala or favor the left. Im not saying Trump will accomplish everything I have some gripes with him but at least he has his head in the right direction. Left just wants more free shit and identity politics which there is a time and place for but right now our economy is in shambles and the disparity between rich and poor is rising as the middle class gets squeezed out. Personally I want more people who can have families, houses, good jobs or businesses and good communities; not more cities for people to live off government assistance (which is important but we need a functioning economy before we can do that) and universities to learn useless information which provides nothing to the job market
"everyone I know who has a family, has a job/career/business, has a home, plenty of bills, or live paycheck to paycheck all voted for Trump." is such a belittling statement to make. there are tens of millions of families that voted for harris. the idea that all working ppl are republicans is so cursory and dismissive of so many lives. it's truly an uneducated comment to make.
Nailed it! I’ve been saying this for years. The problem is to them, it just sounds like reality. They really think stupid==vote red and smart == vote blue. Maybe, who knows, but America isn’t very educated and they are throwing contempt at those that just don’t have those options. Ironic because they also think they’re pro the disadvantaged. Clearly not, just contempt
To be honest, I was pretty confident Kamala Harris would win the US presidential election until I saw your "My Experience at Trump/Harris Rallies as a Foreigner" video. There you showed me some warning signs of the Harris campaign.
Too bad you aren't an american. I would vote for you to be a rep or senator. I know you dont have to be american to run for those but i believe trump is changing the law to where you have to be born here.
People also are sick of name-calling instead of confronting the actual issue. One side (elitest liberals) does it more than the other (middle-class hard-working joes)
45-50% of the working class voted for harris. please stop with the idea that hard working = republicans. it's just a pure lie made up by republicans to feel better about themselves.

One quote: "It's the economy, stupid!"
W. Bush.
Yeah but Harris already put forward plans to address that!

Thanks for speaking so clearly to this!
it's almost like he is an operative, part of the right wing propaganda machine.
I've almost never hoped for a channel to have success more then yours, thank you for what you do.
As someone who is not from the US, this was a fantastic explanation and analysis!
100 percent!
Frustrated as well Indeed its the ego.
America’s core value of Individualistic freedom is at odds with social progressivism. Its a fine line between personal liberty and communal responsibility that, the left has been struggling to understand.
She lost because she was part leader in insanity. And it had to end.

Well thought out and well presented. Good job my friend keep up the great work. : )
Hope you're doing well
Your second piece I’ve watched. Very thoughtful and on target. Perceptive.
Thank you for your report! more American media should address this ,but it is not happening. That is how frail and weak our journalistic integrity is.
Once again, a very enlightening perspective and I really appreciate that it comes from what I would consider a true "Non-biased" view. Thank you.
I'm amazed at how quickly as an outsider that you were able to drill down to the core of the issue and grasp the disconnect between elite media and academia and regular voters that drove the election. I saw your video previously saying you were going to be back in South Korea after your time here was through, but if you're ever looking for a new home America needs more citizens like you
It is elitism. It is pride. And there is a reason that even the most ancient people knew pride to be abhorrent.
Just subbed, I’m a big fan of how you show things from both sides and try to stay objective, thank you sir!
Same for me I was more center maybe even left leaning. But as time went on, I saw the left become something I can't stand for.
It's been three days anyone lost their rights yet? I see a lot of people losing their minds though.

Well done Young Sir
Hopefully in next 4 years Democrats will find some really good candidate. Instead of voting against someone, they should find a candidate people would vote for instead
God is Great!
Get this man a copy of constitution, AR-15 and a citizenship!
I honestly don't think they are capable of that considering they are the party of communism
Instruction is that part of education which furnishes the mind with knowledge."
Even a century ago, it was acknowledged that all college did was create an environment where students were forced to develop the ability to learn and contemplate with discipline and emotional control. Sadly, many programs incentivize the opposite these days and instead force ideological conformity as a class signal
Excellent analysis, and the video clips were well chosen to exemplify the points being made. Most of our American journalists could take a page out of this young man's book.

Everything to do with policy and worldview and very little to do with background.... but yes, a bit crazy
Harris may not be a billionaire, but she grew up under the luxury class. Don't buy her "middle class" thing. It is just politics.
Its the difference between one pretends to be anti-establishment (Trump) and the other servant to the Elite Ogliarchy (Kamala)
bc people can easily be duped
Education and intelligence are totally different things and are not related.
7:47 Not just pay check to paycheck people. Anybody who isn't set for the rest of their life. Even people who make enough to save up struggle.
@11:01 Very generous of you to blur out the face of the disdainful feminist when she likely posted that herself publicly with her face uncensored
In my opinion, "educated" doesn't mean smart, it means brainwashed.
"....us blue voters" wow. What that Kamalas campaign strategist?
President Trump. :) All other presidents have been referred to as "president (name)" or "former president (name)." The left calls Trump "Mr. Trump" as a subtle dig/insult to Trump.
Haha!!! I’m an Eurasian woman who has an MBA. Voted for Trump. I’m in FL.
I'd imagine you've had far more encounters with socialism than the average American. It's also a big reason why Latinos went Trump this election.

Seems the bigot in this video was the girl at the end calling others bigots...
this is why Im done with the democrats until they realize this and stop trying to play identity politics, I was born and raised in NYC and most of my life considered left wing but close to the middle but as soon as being left wing became about playing identity politics and asking for free stuff I stopped playing this dumb game of vote blue no matter who.
