i love how he takes into account when people are homecooks and when people are professionals, i hate review channels that act like every meal should be restaurant quality. its still funny but hes giving her real advice that can help her improve and its just really great seeing how hes not treating her awfully because some channels have been so mean to this poor woman
Home cooking is not an excuse for horrible food otherwise all of our parents who cooked for us as children would have served us the nasty things she cooks. Then again there'd be less obesity then perhaps.

Spotted her out and about in Sheffield - England incase you wondered where the finest culinary skills are from. Us yorkshire folk have finally found out rice needs to be cooked and we shouldnt be eating it crunchy. We all look to kay for our food information and this new move off cooking rice has made a lot of us very happy. We cant wait to learn more tips from Kay.
Kay is so adorable. I love Kay's tenacity and drive to never quitting on trying to learn to cook and improve on her cooking recipes. Kay is a winner in my book. I love it that she used tons of vegetables.

One thing about Kay, is that she tries. Third attempt she managed to make a decent dish. She's mostly self taught and her improvement is what people like about her.

The first I saw her cooking or her first fried rice with raw rices never make me upset, as asian who has fried rice as our national cuisine. I saw her that she's just clueless/perhaps lack of research about how to make fried rice and her raw fried rice shocked me af, but I understand that asian cuisines has complex/many ingridients and sometimes it's challenging me even as asian to make it.
To see her made that fried rice in this video, such a big improvement and I'm so happy she can make proper fried rice at least 🎉

@David Antony I didn't mean other content creators but viewers. As to the predatory - if you post your videos on YT, viewers and other creators might and will comment on it. Kay currently has over 250K subscribers + merch (and bad camera), a very healthy number, and this isn't due to her cooking skills. I also hasn't seen any nasty comments under her videos (not that I studied in great detail).
If it's possible for Kay to have the Auntie title, then I think it's also possible to achieve world peace. 🕊️

I unironically think that too. Kay has something crucial Jamie Oliver lacks: humility. She recognizes when she messes up and has made efforts to improve. Jamie, meanwhile, insists he is not wrong and blocks at all criticism. So, while Kay continues to improve as a cook, Jamie will not grow at all.

It’s a strange day when Kay out cooks Jamie, I think brother Roger was gracious with his comments to Kay’s cooking. I need to learn how to cook more Asian foods, I usually cook traditional Italian, Asian cooking has always been something I’ve wanted to learn to do, but it would have to be learned the right way. 🇮🇹😎🇮🇹

Kay just reminds me so much of growing up, my parents weren't quite like that (they usually made edible meals just from the cheapest most basic ingredients etc) but growing up with no money in the uk this is just how food is in some houses. It's quite nostalgic watching her cooking these things and brings back (admittedly repressed) memories of growing up. Good on her for improving slowly though and not giving up like so many people would have

I have a theory that kay is actually a really good cook and is just one of the best trolls of all time. That said, even if she is a bad cook she seems like just a wonderful person. Bless her heart.
I believe I read that she was making terrible food in an attempt to get her son to move out, but I could be wrong. She does seem sweet, though.
I could see it going either way, honestly. My grandfather told me that when he first got married, he told my grandma that he didn't like chicken because it always gave him an upset stomach. My grandma was quite young and just learning how to cook, so sometimes her meals weren't great at first, but she made chicken because it was cheap. To his surprise, he never got sick from her chicken. Turns out, his mom just wasn't good at cooking and almost always served undercooked chicken; because her kids didn't know better, they just assumed chicken in general made them sick.
Honestly, I wouldn't even be surprised if she had never learned how to cook. She looks like the right age to have reached adulthood right around the time when fast food chains had become pretty common (not as ubiquitous as today, but still common). She also looks old enough to have come into adulthood right around the time when grocery stores had a massive variety of frozen meals and shelf stable ready to cook meals (like Kraft Mac n Cheese or Hamburger Helper). It's easy to see how she would have never learned actual cooking skills. I mean baking a cake from scratch is an entirely different experience and skill set than baking a cake from a box.
Anyway, I'm happy for her. She seems to be doing well.
