Honestly, child protective services should be called. For someone who "has a lot saved", it's beyond unacceptable to make her children live in these conditions. That's just psychopathic.
At this point, she definitely is neglecting her children and endangering their lives. E. Coli & Salmonella ain’t no joke. I just know those recycled sauces are harboring thousands of viruses, bacteria, & parasites.
There has been 'hacks' around how to cook fish in the dishwasher but at least they're using vakuum-tight bags. (doesn't work at all. check Ann Reardon or other ppl for debunking this hack)
I about got sick at the "reusable boiling water" part, seriously that's the same as cooking in a filthy old pan. This is sadly the worst kind of poverty mindset. You skimp on the necessities while still affording luxeries even at the cost of your health. She did all that but still had her nails done, had a nice newer looking truck, had her hair styled, etc. And half the "money saving" was counter productive. it doesn't show here but in the original video the boyfriend says "she and I both have money, I don't understand why we have to do this" or something along the lines of that. this is 100% extreme
What I should have said is this is not extreme, it's psychotic. She definitely needs counseling, and I am still trying to figure out what we learn from TLC programming anyway.

Dude... this is beyond dissing and laughing at her. Her actions can potentially kill someone from food safety perspective, especially she has young children at her house! From reusing sauces, stagnant water, to peel bananas can expose the consumers with harmful pathogens. Lasagna in dish washer can introduce toxic chemicals into the food... This ain't a joke anymore, child protective services should get involve
Oh my! How does your water become “chunky?” Water should never be chunky. Holy cow. Like cooking with salmonella instead of MSG. And the sauce…ugghhhh! Those poor children. How is that not a legitimate child health care that CPS absolutely NEEDS to be called in on. OMG that’s all just too nasty. I hope we aren’t seeing her using a simple wet napkin to wipe off the plastic forks and paper plates to reuse. That video actually gave me the willies. Now I’m thinking about all my friends and trying to figure out which one of those sick freaks are sort of like this.
She spends all day saving pennies and then loses all of it the moment she turns on the dryer and dishwasher. Stephanie's problem is that she doesn't understand what different things actually cost.
It depends. If you have enough flatware and dishes to avoid having to wash them immediately after every meal, then using a dishwasher can actually be a more efficient way to clean your dishes compared to the amount of water, electricity for the water heater, and time it takes to wash them by hand. Dishwashers use, on average, about four gallons of water and selectively run the heating element only during the beginning of the primary wash stage if the water isn't hot enough. It's actually a surprisingly efficient appliance if used properly. Electric clothes dryers, though, are definitely massive power sinks that we can only get away with because power in the US is ludicrously inexpensive.
I was thinking the same, light switches are ON/off so whats the point in having 1 lightbulb lol, same with her SUV, get a fucking Toyota corolla shitbox of something, her priorities are all soooo wrong to save money (Speaking from a perspective where I struggle here and there and can still manage to cook myself good meals, on my stove, with CLEAN WATER, wtf brah.
No this is just disgusting, THIS is why you shouldn’t eat at everyone’s house. This is not about “saving money”, she is GREEDY to spend money even if it risks her kids health. 🤮
This isn't greediness. If this isn't an act for the camera cree, this is a disorder. She has a compulsion, she doesn't actually have control over her life, because she's obsessed and afraid.
@@ForeverNoobGamer76 that is just an excuse, where is her common sense? "Saving" money, while risking their health with using re-used boiling water? Also with her washing the clothes, it's still unhealthy.
She puts her family in the danger of food poisoning by the way she prepares her food: recycled sauce, expired meat, peeled bananas. Furthermore, she made food with huge amount of fat. The boyfriend is very lucky if he doesn't get heart attack when he is 50. The whole medical bills will probably cost more than the whole savings she made.
I'm confused too by this video, i get it why people want to save money but please save it with your logic.. the way this money saving work just gonna make you sick, then you go to a doctor for check up / buying some medicine on meds shop, that alone already cost more. Save your money but don't harm yourself when doing it. Its 80% scripted. Even if its real deal, just sell the goddamn car for some extra cash, go take a walk when buying stuff / get a bicycle..
Yeah frankly she treated her life as a misery and runs the whole house down in misery. I applaud her bf's integrity but judging from how she answer the interview it seems she cares more about money than her bf cause if she did cared for her bf she wouldn't think about her money first.

As a broke college student trying to save money, this is disgusting, it's literally beyond my imagination 🙂 Ok here's a trick on saving money without being disgusting: 1. There is reusable cotton swabs and sanitary pads made from cotton fabric that you can wash after using 2. Just let the sun do it's thing to your wet clothes, never use a drier 3. You can use multiple lightbulbs, it wont cost you any money if you don't turn it on 4. Make you own pasta sauce 5. Grow your own veggies, fruits, and herb 6. If you want to use less meat in let's say a lasagna, add mushrooms or tofu 7. Don't do whatever she is doing with the dish washer, use microwave or toaster oven, they are cheaper and meant for food 8. Use a metal spoon for God's sake 9. Please wash your dishes by hand, it literally saves water, electricity, and your dish soap. *Please don't feed your family and friends a garbage or a "reused" water or food, water and food is not supposed to be reused AND PLEASE DON'T EAT EXPIRED MEAT! She literally did not do basic NORMAL things do save electricity, water, and money, she had to go extreme and still using the drier and dishwasher 🤣🙂
want to add a lil bit details; -use low energy lightbulbs, and if possible use lightbulb possibly only during night -Predict the amount to make things more tightly, like use less sauce in the dish so it possible all sauces be eaten. It totally avoid the unholy disgusting act of putting sauce back -I agree with your last exclamation, never reuse food or use expired food because those totally unedible. She should be smart looking for discount foods and bought the ones that really needed. Didn't see where the fruits go
From what I’ve read, as long as you don’t use the heated dry function on a dishwasher you’re actually saving water and power with modern dishwashers. For washing dishes, not cooking, to be clear.
@@paulv4727 Hmmm I actually don't know bcs I don't have a dishwasher but I think washing manually could save more water bcs you can control the water by yourself, but I mean it depends on the ppl washing it of course, but if any of you find dishwasher saves your money go ahead! ☺️👍🏼
Also Stephanie has nonstick cookware so she should use wooden, plastic, and silicone utensils for cooking but at least she used plastic forks but she should discard that as well. And also nonstick can deteriorate overtime so she should buy stainless steel cookware because is versatile, cooks acidic food without getting metallic flavor, very sturdy and durable could last years even a bit longer than nonstick, and good sear for your meat so you get beautiful fond on the cooking surface. Either All-Clad D3 or Traumatina cookware sets.
You forgot one: Drive around in a more fuel efficient vehicle. And a modern Energy Star dishwasher actually uses less energy, many times less water, and less detergent to clean your dishes and utensils compared to hand washing. The provisos: don't use the dishwasher until it's fully loaded and use energy saving drying rather than a fully heated drying cycle.
Whenever she did something ridiculous and the voiceover would say how much she saved, I was like "this better be good". Its just a handful of dollars. She's putting her family through grief for just a few dollars a month
She is probably calculating like; "I go 10 times per month to the store, that's 30$, 60$ electricity, recycling sauce 10$ , recycling and saving water 20$... Hey that's over 100$ per month, that's over 1'200$ per year!? I saved a lot by making my whole family feeling ashamed and miserable... Worth it! " I would rather cut off all make up, walk to the store or ride a bike, no wigs (because she definitely has one on), then make my family eat crappy food out of the dishwasher!!! I agree with a lot people here... Child protective service needs a call here!
There's a plenty of healthier way to save money, such as planting your own vegetables, especially in this pandemic. At least my family tried it and it's wholesome. Besides, hospital fees would be much more expensive if you're sick because of bad food accumulating over the years.
Buy in bulk, take good advantage of your freezer. Buy more in tact cuts of meat and butcher them yourself Use LED light bulbs and only turn the lights on if you're in the room Use fans instead of AC if it's not that hot Use mass transit Never buy ready made meals Never get involved with a financially abusive idiot whose control freak tendencies are a clear sign that she's not all there in the head
Another thing she could save money on is not using ALL that beef fat. She just bought herself oil for the next few weeks but made a nasty greasy ass lasagna.
@@TheWutangclan1995 yep, that was awesome piece of fat for puddings and frying and also for homemade ground beef. Just buy normal beef and do ground beef add proper amount of fat and that would be perfect and cheaper then ground beef from store.
That lasagna made me want to vomit. Can you imagine a lasagna made with: reused pasta water with all those starch clumps that is probably sitting out, ground beef with lots of added beef fat, pasta sauce that has been recycled from people's leftovers? Then all that was cooked in a dishwasher in a pan that was leaking dirty dishwasher water into the lasagna.

I'm glad that Uncle Roger pointed out the most obvious ways this lady was spending way more money than she should be. That vehicle alone is half of her paycheck.
I just can't get over her claiming to save money by buying beef fat instead of actual meat and YET she used name-brand cheese. Like, how is that saving money, just spend the money you'd save buying store-brand cheese and get actual beef orz
The reason she only has 1 light bulb is because she's the only one who can use it. Wherever she goes the lightbulb goes with her. I thought she was living alone at first but then she has family.
Childcare needs to take her kids away. I'm serious. What kind of adequate mother would have their kids eat contaminated recycled food, and contaminated reused water in a completely dark home. She feeds them "lasagna" full of soap. She feeds them vegetables rotten from taking the peel off a week before. She shows her kids the habit of rubbing your skin with a mixture of dust, dead skin, and other filth. Those children are not safe, This mother can't have custody of her kids for another moment.
I agree. This will affect the children in later life or they could do the same thing when they get older. She should sell the diesel guzzling vehicle & get a cheaper car. She just contradict herself. Does he boyfriend have a job ?
Honestly, shes probably only keeping those kids for the child support checks and what's worse is IF those kids are with her by the time they're 18 shes probably gonna kick them off and out to the streets the moment they turn 18
This woman needs to have child services called on her. Great things about shows like this is it exposes disgusting practices like this to the proper authorities.

This comment made my brain rot.
She can save money by doing these: 1: walk ! do not use a car, just use a scooter or a bike. like you pay for gasoline, etc. 2: do not have kids (like uncle Rodger said) if you want to save money, do not make your kids suffer with your journey. also kids are expensive !! you need to pay for school fees, book fees, more water fees, more mouths to feed, etc. 3: why the hell would you not buy cotton wipes, but you will wear make-up, jewellery, fancy clothes etc. like don’t do that 😭🙏 4: do not marry someone, because that is just- 💀 like being married= 1 more mouth to feed, married= potential kids= more ppl to feed. I have more but it’s 11pm, so ima continue later maybe.
She definitely used more dollars worth of aluminum foil to protect the lasagna from the dishwasher than the number of dollars of electricity her oven would have used.
If you want an even more energy efficient option, get a used, but insulated toaster oven. Those things are practically indestructible and are more efficient than heating a full-sized oven when you only need half the volume. The cheapest toaster ovens, however, are no better than a conventional oven due to a lack of insulation, so they don't retain heat well.
@@mndlessdrwer Yeah, I use a nice countertop convection oven. It's efficient as hell and you can fit surprisingly large items in there and cooks them evenly and perfectly.
Dishwashers do reuse water, at least within a cycle. (If you run it twice, of course that's two batches of water.) That's why they're actually more efficient than hand-washing dishes. I'm more concerned about the fact that she needed about $5 of aluminum foil to put that pan in the dishwasher to avoid spending less than 50¢ in gas to use the oven.
There's some legitimate concerns about the sanitary conditions of her kitchen. Feeding her kids pasta that's been boiled in stagnant water? Asking to buy expired meat? Bacteria laden sauce stored and reused. Seriously, CPS needs to be involved not reality show producers...
I'm with Uncle Roger on don't get your nails done, don't wear makeup. Get jewelry, dishes and even sometimes clothes at yard sales. Also, go to grocery early, buy all the mark downs, then eat lots of salad, stir fry, homemade soups, eggs, cabbage, carrots, onions, celery, chicken hind quarters, and tuna. Add cheap veggies to everything. She could have made tons of great chicken stir fry on rice for under $5 to feed an army. Make spaghetti sauce and other stuff from scratch. I don't even use my dishwasher...but storage, yes! One thing about guests, tho...if u feed them, they always bring food and beer/wine. In my (poor) neighborhood, no shame in asking guests to bring something. That light bulb thing....doesn't she realize if u have 3 bulbs, they'll last 3x as long? And vehicles? I live in the cheapest apartment in the tri-city area...more BMW's than anything else in the parking lot. So foolish! Buy something your sons can fix for u. Splurge on regular oil changes and good tools. Drive your Toyota 500, 000 miles! Great cars!

So much cheaper, and saves a lot of time - Hang clothes outside to dry - As he said, have a bunch of lightbulbs, but don't have to turn them all on - Literally just don't risk it when it comes to food, it can be very dangerous (or just straight up gross and then you end up wasting money)
Agreed with all of these. How come she can afford to use the drier but not the stove? I don't even own a drier, and I could afford one, and fit one into my house... But I know they take a lot of power and wear down your clothing faster... I hang them to dry instead. If you put the sauce back in the jar, the whole jar could be moldy in two days.... That wouldn't be cheaper. Also she's obviously saving the food for later, so keep the sauce with the food, until it's eaten at the next meal. Once the food is mixed on the plate you don't separate them again.

Stop being racist

As a broke college student trying to save money, this is disgusting, it's literally beyond my imagination 🙂
Ok here's a trick on saving money without being disgusting:
1. There is reusable cotton swabs and sanitary pads made from cotton fabric that you can wash after using
2. Just let the sun do it's thing to your wet clothes, never use a drier
3. You can use multiple lightbulbs, it wont cost you any money if you don't turn it on
4. Make you own pasta sauce
5. Grow your own veggies, fruits, and herb
6. If you want to use less meat in let's say a lasagna, add mushrooms or tofu
7. Don't do whatever she is doing with the dish washer, use microwave or toaster oven, they are cheaper and meant for food
8. Use a metal spoon for God's sake
9. Please wash your dishes by hand, it literally saves water, electricity, and your dish soap.
*Please don't feed your family and friends a garbage or a "reused" water or food, water and food is not supposed to be reused AND PLEASE DON'T EAT EXPIRED MEAT!
She literally did not do basic NORMAL things do save electricity, water, and money, she had to go extreme and still using the drier and dishwasher 🤣🙂
want to add a lil bit details;
-use low energy lightbulbs, and if possible use lightbulb possibly only during night
-Predict the amount to make things more tightly, like use less sauce in the dish so it possible all sauces be eaten. It totally avoid the unholy disgusting act of putting sauce back
-I agree with your last exclamation, never reuse food or use expired food because those totally unedible.
You forgot one:
Drive around in a more fuel efficient vehicle.
And a modern Energy Star dishwasher actually uses less energy, many times less water, and less detergent to clean your dishes and utensils compared to hand washing. The provisos: don't use the dishwasher until it's fully loaded and use energy saving drying rather than a fully heated drying cycle.
Imagine going to your friend’s house and they say, “Oh, the lasagna should be done!” And reaches into the dishwasher

Buy more in tact cuts of meat and butcher them yourself
Use LED light bulbs and only turn the lights on if you're in the room

If you want an even more energy efficient option, get a used, but insulated toaster oven. The cheapest toaster ovens, however, are no better than a conventional oven due to a lack of insulation, so they don't retain heat well.

People figured out it was all fake. Typical TLC fake "reality" shows.
@@tonystolz4982 I genuinely hope it's fake. Those children deserve a better life.
I mean, driving around in that full-size Yukon was a big tip towards the hypocracy.
12:30 I’m like 99% sure that turning off and on the tv cost more electricity
There's some legitimate concerns about the sanitary conditions of her kitchen. Feeding her kids pasta that's been boiled in stagnant water? Asking to buy expired meat? Bacteria laden sauce stored and reused.
Seriously, CPS needs to be involved not reality show producers...
Absolutely agree
it is dangerous.
I would bet this is all just for the show. No reality shows are actually real.
And continually recooking sauces in addition to the water seems like a bacteria nightmare, not to mention the saliva and such.
Yes, her 'money saving' is a walking health hazard
Great cars!
Question incoming! Aren’t dishwashers saving on money compared to washing everything by hand? I think I got that from an independent comparison and testing thing
@@Evistopheles Yep! The water used per item is less when you use a dishwasher. Just make sure you're not over or underfilling it. (And give the stuff that needs it at least a quick rinse, so it has a chance of coming out clean!)
@@ADFROMAN thank you for the answer! Yeah, I usually remove crumbs and wash off sauce to prevent clogging, have cut myself real bad when unclogging it a while back. But my fellow cave dwellers somehow decided that it’s not worth it and put knives full of Nutella or plates with crumbs on inside. :|
Good advice. My dishwasher is pot and pan storage
@@ADFROMAN But does the total amount of water used in the rinsing + dishwasher = or less than just washing everything by hand? Also what about the electricity cost for running the dishwasher?

the shows fake
Oh sounds like a lie but ok
Tbh its actually dangerous because the food she literally gave to her husband and kids maybe contain bacteria or viruses that could attack their body
Could never live with a woman like this.
My mouth literally dropped when I saw the "reusable boiling water".
It being chunky shut me down.
@@CreativeCreatorCreates The chunks gave me cancer.
Yeah... I cringed pretty hard when she started putting sauce back...
Her whole lasagna makes me want to vomit.
There's a term for it. It's called gray water. It's fit for water plants, basically. This woman is disgusting 🤢
Moving a lightbulb around the house would NOT, under any circumstances save $60/month! Lightbulbs cost a few cents a day, if that! The ignorant lies spewed by TLC this early in this video is sickening!
yeah, it's really no different than having multiple, they individually just last longer...
She could just buy different bulbs and turn on only the lights in the room she's in
@@lorrie9462 yeah, I'd even say that a case could be made for that the bulb lasts shorter than it would have because its getting touched so much. It's impossible not to get even a small amount of finger grease and dirt on them... lets be honest, the lady is crazy...
@@mBlackThunder exactly
And then you factor in energy-efficient bulbs that last for years, give hella light, and consume very little 🙃
The reusable water trick is actually a great money saving trick for 2 reasons
1. It reduces your water bill.
2. If your husband or kids die of dysentery less mouths to feed!
Lmfao
Ngl you had is in the first half.
but the funeral cost?
@@Gamemaster-64 You are assuming there would be a funeral. I imagine she would just dig a hole behind her house and dump them in it.
you also save $ because you get put into a home with alzheimer’s much earlier than normal people with all the heavy metals ingested.

11:24 looks likes a oven right there
As an Indian, I can confirm that after seeing this we cant even call ourselves cheap, were probably multi billionaires in terms of spending power in context to such people LMFAO

Dude I can definitely say this because I used to work a medical job. It’s a matter of time before these people get seriously ill. I feel for those kids. I also wouldn’t be surprised if that dude left her too. This isn’t about saving money is about control. Her hair and nails are perfect so I’m doubtful it’s about frugality.
Are you an aries?
True. If this happens daily!!! It’s just a matter of time that one of the family gets food poison!!!! She needs to be sued!! Won’t let him take bath and uses dishwasher !!!!
I wonder if cps got involved cuz real talk this is really bad

Horrified is a word that does not even come close to describing my sheer terror from watching this woman destroy the fabric of reality.

I had a roommate who would yell at us for leaving on lights to save money.
She would leave on the TV for “background noise” and it never occurred to her that the TV uses more power than the lightbulb.
I get what you mean, but I would rather be in that situation than get food poisoning from this woman's food because of being cheap.
@@reijustrei Okay? I'm not saying my situation was worse; they're both bad situations.

Her focus is on her needs not others. She likes the TV on and doesn’t need the light on.
@@71KR117 one of the situations is clearly much worse though. they both seem to have some level of narcissistic qualities, but the woman in this video is definitely clinically diagnosable
Exactly!! I hand laundry in the winter and I live up north !!! I don’t have a dish washer . I make food from scratch and freeze or can . I use no lights and no lights. Remember, I live up north
she's just selfish. See she has a wig, nails done, jewelry, good car, dryer and dishwasher. I don't see any money saving in term of her own expenses or comfort.
Not to mention the giant SUV with leather seats.
apparently this woman doesn't know that you can also save $60 a month by not getting your nails professionally done - her nails are definitely a salon gel manicure. what a joke. this is one situation where I don't mind Uncle Roger tearing this lady up.
And she's wearing a weave!
@@pysq8 It's a wig actually but I know back when this first aired, wigs weren't exactly cheap and you still have to spend money to maintain them because you need a specific brush for them, shampoo, conditioner, make-up for the lace parting if it has one, etc.
@@9inchtablet you're right. At this point, I use wig and weave interchangeably, but there are some obvious differences of course. Either way, I was thinking of your points about the high maintenance and care. Right on.

Yo mama so cheap: she only buys expired meat from the supermarket!
Yo Mama's so cheap: even Poor Mama spends more money than her!
HAHAHAHAHAHA
Yo mama so cheap, she makes up most of the world's recycling rate.
Yo mama so cheap she turn off the tv during commercials.
It’s the Nigel Ng in the background lolllll
Tips:
- Buy a reusable cleansing pad + a makeup brush/sponge, could even buy fake stick on manicure nails and reuse them
- Yeah, making your own pasta sauce would be cheaper
- She's using plastic forks, it's literally easier to go with metal
- Can go to cheaper supermarkets (eg: Asian supermarkets), or check out the items that would be on sale/reduced, or check out the variety of a certain item and get the cheaper option (doesn't have to be a brand item)
- Can grow a vege/herb garden
- Fill up the sink with dish soap, wash, and then rinse with separate running water. So much cheaper, and saves a lot of time
- Hang clothes outside to dry
- As he said, have a bunch of lightbulbs, but don't have to turn them all on
- Literally just don't risk it when it comes to food, it can be very dangerous (or just straight up gross and then you end up wasting money)
Once the food is mixed on the plate you don't separate them again.
or just skip makeup... its not necessary for survival.. car isnt necessary too. tv too.😅.. but fresh water and food is essential.. how can she compromise on nutrition an hygiene. utterly disgusting
Also maybe don’t drive a big car 🤣 or is oil free in the USA? Here oil is expensive so most people have oil friendly cars. And then she drives a truck omg
@@Dixxi91 I prefer using the dryer around winter time, but like to hang my clothes out to dry during summer
