Here's another thing that grinds my gears about Gordon's 10 minute cooking videos (as much as I do enjoy them), he always says "Pan down!!" But that's not the proper term for the camera move. He's looking for a "Push in" or a "Tilt down". Panning is when the camera goes right to left or left to right.... That's my last nitpick!
As a chef for almost 20 years, I never understood why Gordan acted as if he was working during the most slammed Saturday night when making these sorts of home cooking videos. SLOW DOWN BRO YOU HAVE ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD HAIYAAAAAA

Just so yall know Gordon's "nonstick pan" isn't coated with any nonstick chemical or material, it's a hexclad pan which is a complicated laser cut mesh mix of aluminum and stainless steel that make it "nonstick", so using metal utensils on it is okay

Metal can scratch or chip the coating and if that happens, you'll definitely need to replace the pan rather than continue using it

Hey guys, I'm a Japanese who loves ramen.
Like Uncle Roger said, for normal ramen, you need to make a Dashi-soup (broth from bones/veggies dried mushrooms/seaweeds/sardines) and Tare (miso/soy sauce-based undiluted punchy salty aroma oil liquid) separately and put together just before serving the bowl because it's the best way to keep both aromas (don't heat up the Tare!).
However, Miso-ramen usually needs to stir-fry meat and veggies(bean sprout, onion) with lard/butter in wok first and add the miso paste and broth afterward.

To give him the even slightest benefit of the doubt he did make, even if not great since he used the shortcut of boiling them, shiitake dashi. It's going to be insanely weak, but it is technically there.
He also didn't drain the water of the noodles. He just put it in the bowl like spaghetti

Honestly, I thought it was because he been aging so much lately. Considering his 2019 but released in 2021 season of Hell's Kitchen where he was looking for a protege and him actually finally eating vegan/vegetarian food, I thought he was just getting older and trying to live longer LMAO

@@echung168 With his active lifestyle being vegetarian/vegan would be a probably considered unhealthy. This is why there are barely any vegans/vegeterians who would be great athletes or ceos. When u have almost no time and need great amount of energy it's counter-intutitive to eat 6 or more times in a day various different dishes to.(Even when u have catering services like Bodybuilders have.).
This dish is a great example how "10minutes" vegeterian dinner dishes do not work. It looks and probably even taste like shit.
Good vegeterian cousine takes a lot of of time and when i worked as a Chef vegan and vegeterian dishes were always the hardest one to make.
Unless u consider "cooking" = throwing every item u like individually in a pot and boiling it.
