My favorite farm animals! We had white Leghorns when I was a kid. I'm 68 now. I had 3 of them, that I raised from newly hatched chicks: Roho, Blacki (only black chick) and HenniPenni ... Many fond memories of my childhood!
So, my advice: you have a small brood, name them! Take them for a free range walk when n.v they're little like this. They'll follow you everywhere! Take your finger and scratch the gravel. They'll eat pebbles where you've scratched. You're teaching them to scratch the gravel for themselves. 🙂💖

@@mattutke4704 when we were young we were really poor so we would walk into town to the KFC and ask the people coming out if we could lick their fingers.
The chick's look grand. Like your chicken pin. You will have a nice coupe in your barn with a cement floor for easy clean up. The automatic door will be a good safe keeping.
Awww the baby chicks are so cute, there is a house near me that has about 10 chickens running free in the yard and whenever I walk by they run down to the road to see me, I just love that they do that.
My niece just cut 17 inches off her hair which put it at her shoulders last Friday her husband loves it. She donated the hair she cut off to make a wig for a cancer patient
😀👍👍👍. Chickens are enjoyable. Raw organic apple cider vinegar in their water and dust everywhere with diatomaceous earth, including putting it in the feed to worm them from time to time. Oats for breakfast. Layers pellets on demand. Mixed grain for treats and cracked corn before bedtime in winter. Trouble free motoring. Regards Stephen.

Chicks need warmth, dry bedding, water , food with minerals and you have got that. They are so stinking cute!.

An area of that barn would be a great place for a coup. Just put in a door for them to get outdoors and build an outdoor space that’s completely secure.

The Chick's are so cute!!!...You might want to check out Living Traditions Homestead...they're in Southern MO....but he raises quail & has fashioned some very neat enclosures for the birds to make keeping the cages cleaner & has made feeding troughs to keep bird food waste minimal etc...
The have chickens also and Sarah just got Silkies this past week so she has some new ones; they also have large layers & ducks . ... they wanted to keep predators out of their chicken 🐔 run; plus the run is around the perimeter of the orchard & they wanted to keep the deer from jumping the fence.. they made a ~chicken moat~ around the perimeter of the orchard and the deer won't jump the double fence-moat because their perception of a clear jump is scewed. ...it's working out very well...you'll love the channel! They have fashioned their place using mostly what they have around the homestead!

I watch “what the hales” and they are raising chics/chickens & peacocks as well, maybe you can get some pointers from watching them as well.
They have a chicken door on the wall :) it’s just covered since we didn’t have the door on it yet
