It looks like you're sharing details about your academic background-here’s what I understand:
      - 10th grade: 86%
      - 12th grade: 84%
      - BSc (PCM): 74%
      - MSc (Chemistry): 75% (continuing)
As for the question about "mini cat per," I’m guessing you're asking about the minimum CAT (Common Admission Test) score or percentile required for admission to top MBA programs, or possibly you're referring to something specific regarding your MSc plans.
If you’re asking about **CAT scores**:
The minimum required percentile for good IIMs or top B-schools usually starts at around **85-90 percentile** for some of the newer IIMs or other top colleges. But, getting into the prestigious ones like IIM-A, B, C, you would typically need **95+ percentile**, though there are multiple factors like academic background, work experience, etc.
If you meant something else, feel free to clarify, and I’ll help you out!

Based on your academic profile and category (General), here's an estimate of the CAT percentile required for different tiers of IIMs:
      1. Top IIMs (A, B, C):
      Target Percentile: 98.5+
These IIMs have very high cutoffs for General category students and place significant weight on academics, especially IIM Ahmedabad and Bangalore. Your 10th, 12th, and graduation marks may slightly reduce your chances here unless you achieve an exceptional CAT score.
      2. Mid-Tier IIMs (IIM L, I, K, S):
      Target Percentile: 95-98
These IIMs balance CAT scores with academics. A strong performance in CAT can improve your chances even with moderate past academics.
      3. New IIMs (IIM Rohtak, IIM Trichy, etc.):
      Target Percentile: 92-95
These IIMs have slightly lower cutoffs and place more emphasis on CAT scores and diversity factors.
      4. Baby IIMs (IIM Jammu, IIM Bodh Gaya, etc.):
      Target Percentile: 85-92
They tend to have the lowest cutoffs among IIMs and focus more on potential growth as seen through the CAT score.
      How to Strengthen Your Profile:
      1. Achieve a High CAT Score: Given your academic background, focusing on a percentile above 95 can improve your chances significantly.
      2. Improve Extracurriculars or Certifications: These could add weight during interviews.
      3. Prepare Well for GD-PI: Since academics can't be changed, excelling in interviews can make a difference.
Let me know if you'd like personalized strategies for CAT prep or specific IIMs!

Advice: How to Handle This Profile for CAT and IIMs
Your academic profile (10th: 79%, 12th: 77%, Grad: 55%) makes getting into older IIMs like Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Calcutta (ABC) tough because of their emphasis on academics. But don’t worry! You can still target newer and baby IIMs, FMS, MDI, XLRI, or SPJIMR, where a strong CAT percentile matters more.
      ---
Step 1: Maximize Your CAT Score
Target Percentile: 98+ for top colleges.
      Strategy:
Focus on VARC and LRDI since they can balance weak Quant performance (if any).
Start mocks early, focus on accuracy, and practice consistently.
      ---
      Step 2: Profile Improvement
Your low graduation marks can be offset with achievements in other areas.
Certifications: Do short courses in finance (NISM, Coursera), data analytics (Excel, Tableau), or marketing.
Work Experience: Even a small internship or freelance project adds value.
Extracurriculars: Participate in competitions, volunteering, or join clubs.
      ---
      Step 3: Plan B (Non-IIM Options)
If not IIMs, aim for FMS, NMIMS, Symbiosis, IIFT, or TISS.
These focus more on CAT/MBA entrance scores and PI performance than academics.
      ---
      Final Advice
Your past doesn’t define your future. Put in full effort for CAT 2025, build a strong personal story, and aim for excellence in mock interviews and GDs. Let me know if you need a detailed action plan!

    • @Divyanshu-IIM
      @Divyanshu-IIM  2 месяца назад

Hey! Based on your profile, here’s how you can approach your target:
      1. Academics:
Class 10th: 92.6% - This is strong and will help balance things out.
Class 12th: 68.8% - This is a bit lower compared to the usual IIM profile, but not a deal-breaker, especially since your undergrad is strong.
Undergrad: 9.1 CGPA (Tier 1 college, Pune) - This is excellent and compensates for your Class 12 score. Tier 1 college weightage matters.
      2. Work Experience:
3 years of work experience is a strong plus. IIMs value work experience, especially if you can demonstrate leadership, impact, and growth during this time.
      3. CAT Score:
For GEM candidates, a CAT score of 90+%ile is a solid target to get into most IIMs, but for top IIMs (A, B, C), you should aim for 95+%ile to be competitive.
For other IIMs (L, K, I, etc.), a score of 85-90%ile could still get you through, though higher is better.
      4. Key Focus Areas:
CAT Prep: Prioritize scoring 90+%ile, ideally 95+%ile, to improve your chances for top IIMs.
Leverage your work experience in your applications and interviews.
GD/PI: Be well-prepared for the interview stage. Work on your communication skills and clarity of thought, which will be critical.
      Conclusion:
Target: For top IIMs like A, B, and C, go for 95+%ile. For other IIMs, a 90%ile+ is sufficient.
With your strong UG and work experience, you’re in a good position. Just focus on acing the CAT and doing well in GD/PI.
      Good luck! You’ve got this!

How to Approach CAT 2025 and Build Your Profile
      1. CAT Preparation Strategy
2024: Focus on building concepts in QA, VARC, and DILR using books like Arun Sharma. Start with 1 mock every two weeks.
2025: Intensify prep with 2-3 mocks per week from January. Analyze performance and focus on weak areas.
Target Percentile: 98-99.5%ile for top IIMs.
      2. Profile Building
Certifications: Take online courses in finance, analytics, or communication (Coursera, edX).
Internships: Apply for roles via Internshala or NGOs to gain experience.
Extracurriculars: Join DU societies, volunteer, or participate in competitions.
Hobbies: Start a blog, RUclips channel, or learn a creative skill.
      3. Timeline
      4. Key Tips
      Maintain/improve your CGPA to 8+.
Read newspapers daily for PI prep.
Leverage your diversity (non-engineer + female) for an edge.

@Divyanshu-IIM Thank you so much for your valuable advice. I am considering appearing for more government exams with a syllabus similar to the CAT exam. Which exams, apart from CAT, should I target?
Is coaching necessary? If yes, which coaching institute would be affordable while providing good quality content?
I also have my semester exams starting soon, and I’m not sure where to begin. I'm finding it difficult to manage time for CAT preparation alongside my studies. How much time should I dedicate to CAT preparation daily?
One more doubt-I've been wanting to excel in extracurricular activities since I didn’t participate much during school and want to make up for it in college. However, people often say we should prioritize one goal and not deviate. They believe other activities won’t be useful, and full dedication to preparation is essential. They argue that dividing your energy among multiple things will leave you average in all of them.
I feel the same sometimes-that investing time in too many things might be a waste, especially if my exam doesn’t go well. In that case, these extracurriculars might not help, and I’ll regret it. What should I do? These activities are important to me, but I don’t want to sacrifice my exam preparation. What's your take on this ?

    • @Divyanshu-IIM
      @Divyanshu-IIM  2 месяца назад +1

      1. Other Exams with a Similar Syllabus to CAT
IBPS PO, SBI PO: Similar reasoning, quantitative, and English sections.
SSC CGL: Covers reasoning, quantitative aptitude, and English.
RBI Grade B, UPSC Civil Services: Overlap in logical, quantitative, and verbal abilities.
IBPS SO: Similar syllabus with reasoning, English, and professional knowledge.
      2. Is Coaching Necessary?
Coaching can help if you need structured guidance or struggle with consistency.
Affordable options include TIME, Career Launcher, Byju’s, and Gradeup (upGrad).
If self-motivated, online resources and mock tests can also work well.
      3. Balancing CAT and Semester Exams
During Semester Exams: Prioritize studies, aim for 1-2 hours/day for CAT preparation.
During Breaks: Increase CAT prep to 3-4 hours/day.
Key Tip: Consistency matters more than hours. Even 1 hour/day can be effective if done regularly.
      4. Balancing Extracurriculars with Exam Prep
Prioritize Exams: CAT and government exams require focus, so they should be your main goal.
Extracurriculars as Skill Builders: Choose 1-2 activities that align with your interests and long-term goals.
Balance: Time-block your schedule. Don’t overcommit, and ensure extracurriculars don’t interfere with exam prep.
      Final Thoughts:
Focus on your exams but try to integrate extracurriculars in a way that enhances your overall growth without overburdening yourself. Keep a balanced, time-managed approach.
Good luck with your studies! Feel free to ask if you need more help!

Should I focus solely on government exams (please suggest any exams you consider best, apart from UPSC)? I am in a situation where I need to achieve financial independence quickly. I've heard that even after getting into an IIM, one still has to fight for earning opportunities. Is that true? Should I focus on government exams for now, and then start preparing for CAT after achieving stability? Would this be a correct approach? After cracking CAT, it will take time to start earning, right? How should I approach this? The thing is, I can’t afford to waste much time. I want to achieve something right after I graduate. There’s also societal pressure involved, but whatever the reason, I know I need to secure something immediately after graduation. My family has invested a lot in my education, and I feel the need to give back right after completing my degree. What is your opinion on this?

    • @Samluthra01
      @Samluthra01 2 месяца назад

@@LastChance-l9vYour situation calls for a strategic and pragmatic approach. Here’s how you can consider navigating it:
      1. Government Exams for Immediate Stability
Government jobs offer stability, decent pay, and job security, which could help you achieve financial independence quickly. Some exams to consider apart from UPSC are:
Banking Exams: IBPS PO, SBI PO, and RRBs. They have frequent vacancies, relatively short preparation time, and good career growth.
SSC Exams: SSC CGL or CHSL offer a variety of government roles with good perks.
Railway Exams: RRB NTPC or Group D.
State Public Service Commissions: Depending on your state, these can be good for administrative roles.
LIC/GIC Exams: For roles in insurance sectors like AAO or ADO.
Defence Exams: CDS (if interested in armed forces) or AFCAT (Air Force).
      2. Preparing for CAT Post-Stability
If you secure a government job, you can prepare for CAT alongside. This way, you have a fallback option while you aim for better opportunities through IIM. It's true that even at IIMs, the competition for top placements is intense. However, the ROI in the long term often outweighs the initial struggle.
      3. Reality of IIM Journey
Financial Independence Delay: Post-CAT, you’ll need to invest at least 2 years in an MBA. While internships may provide stipends, the real earnings begin after placements.
High Competition: Top IIMs have rigorous placement processes. However, securing a good MBA placement often leads to higher earnings and better roles.
      4. Balancing Societal and Personal Goals
Your family’s investment and societal pressure are valid concerns. A government job would alleviate immediate financial pressure and offer you time to plan your next big move (CAT and MBA).
      Suggested Approach:
Short-Term Focus: Prioritize cracking a government exam for immediate stability.
Long-Term Focus: Once stable, start preparing for CAT gradually while maintaining your job.
Financial Planning: Save a part of your salary for potential MBA expenses to reduce future dependency.
Societal Pressure Management: Once employed, societal expectations will likely ease, giving you more freedom to pursue long-term goals.
Would you like detailed preparation strategies for any specific exams?

CAT Score for ST Category in Top IIMs
      IIM ABC: 75-85 percentile

Para Jumbles & Odd-One-Out: Identify the first sentence for parajumbles and focus on tone for Odd-One-Out questions.
Grammar & Vocabulary: Revise basics for sentence correction and understand word meaning from context.
Mock Analysis: Review mocks to identify weak areas and focus on improving those.
Time Management: Don’t spend too much time on one section. Complete all questions in time.
Consistency: Regular practice and gradual improvement will boost your score.
Keep practicing and focus on accuracy in VRC; the rest seems to be on track!

Bhaiya 8/7/6 ews , arts student what percentile should i target to get cap calls and iim shillong

    • @Divyanshu-IIM
      @Divyanshu-IIM  2 месяца назад +1

With an 8/7/6 academic profile, being an EWS candidate from an Arts background, you have a good chance to secure calls from IIM Shillong and CAP colleges if you target the right CAT percentile. Here's what you should aim for:
CAP Colleges (Baby and New IIMs)
      Percentile Target: 88-92 percentile
The CAP colleges (like IIM Bodh Gaya, IIM Jammu, etc.) give significant weightage to diversity (Arts background helps) and category reservations like EWS. Scoring around 90+ percentile will make you eligible for interviews.
      IIM Shillong
      Percentile Target: 93-96 percentile
IIM Shillong is slightly more competitive than CAP IIMs. While your Arts background and EWS status work in your favor, aim for at least a 94+ percentile to strengthen your chances. Higher the better, as their shortlist depends on various factors like academic diversity, work experience (if any), and gender diversity.
      ---
      How to Prioritize:
      1. Leverage EWS and Arts Advantage: Your profile diversity improves your chances even at slightly lower percentiles.
      2. Focus on VARC and DILR: Arts students generally perform better in VARC; ensure you capitalize on this.
      3. Consistency: A balanced sectional performance above the 80-85 percentile is essential, as most IIMs have sectional cutoffs.
Would you like help with a strategy to achieve this percentile?

bhaiya 10 , 6.8, 8.0 st catogery non eng kitna percentile chahiya bhai for targeting old iims and new iims

    • @Divyanshu-IIM
      @Divyanshu-IIM  2 месяца назад

Bhai, for ST category students with a profile of 10th - 10 CGPA, 12th - 6.8 CGPA, and Graduation - 8.0 CGPA, the percentile requirement is generally lower compared to general category students. However, the exact percentile depends on the specific IIM you're targeting. Here's a breakdown:
      For Old IIMs (A, B, C, L, K, I):
IIM A: Around 90-92 percentile. Your academic diversity (non-engineering) and ST category will work in your favor.
IIM B: Around 85-90 percentile, but B heavily considers work experience. If you’re a fresher, aim closer to 90.
IIM C: Around 88-92 percentile. CAT score has significant weight here.
IIM L, K, I: Around 85-90 percentile should suffice, but higher scores (90+) improve your chances.
      For New IIMs:
IIM Trichy, Udaipur, Ranchi, etc.: Around 80-85 percentile.
IIM Jammu, Nagpur, etc.: Around 75-80 percentile.
      Additional Tips:
      1. Perform well in all three sections (VARC, DILR, QA) to ensure sectional cutoffs are cleared.
      2. Your category advantage significantly reduces the percentile pressure, but aim for at least 85-90 percentile for Old IIMs to increase your chances.
Bhai, with consistent preparation, you can easily reach these percentiles. Focus on mock tests and strategy. If you want specific prep advice, let me know!

Bhaiya ungrad meh 8 cgpa hai bcom , but mera college aacha nahi hai local goverment college hai
Kya koye dikkat hogi iim admission meh

    • @Divyanshu-IIM
      @Divyanshu-IIM  2 месяца назад

Nahi, college ka naam ya reputation se IIM admission par direct impact nahi padta. IIMs ka focus primarily academic consistency (10th, 12th, graduation), CAT score, aur overall profile par hota hai. Tumhare 8 CGPA graduation ke liye achhi hai, aur agar tum CAT meh acha score karte ho (97+ percentile for new/baby IIMs aur 99+ for top IIMs), toh college ka issue secondary ho jata hai.
      Tumhe kya karna chahiye:
      1. CAT pe focus: High percentile se tumhara profile aur strong banega.
      2. Profile ko polish karo:
Extra-curricular ya certifications (e.g., Coursera, edX) add karo.
Work experience ya impactful projects dikhane ki koshish karo.
      3. Interviews ke liye tayyari: Agar interview meh tum apne college ke limitations ko positively justify karte ho (e.g., "limited resources ke bawajood excellence dikhayi"), toh ye tumhare liye ek strength ban sakti hai.
Tension mat lo, IIMs tumhare efforts aur potential ko value karte hain, na ki college ki brand ko!
