This is easily my favorite album of theirs. Their first three albums were great, but they just completely blew everything away with this release. This album has my favorite drums and death metal vocals ever (and this album easily has my favorite Chuck vocals). Not only is this my favorite album of theirs, and also my favorite death metal album ever, it's one of my favorite albums in general.
Great review coverkillernation!!... "Human" its an album that still stands up today as one of the greatest albums not just in metal, but as a piece of music any music fanatic can appreciate. One thing I like to add it is how you can see the lyrics were becoming more personal and thoughtful. Also, listening to the drums of this album compared to their earlier works its like night and day!!... probably, the only flaw i can see here is how I think the bass needs to be louder, but it makes this
Technical yet still unforgivingly brutal, something I think they lost on the next album by adopting a more progressive edge. The sinister riffing keeps you on the edge throughout. The tempo changes are so seamless. Defining moment on the album is the solo on 'flattening of emotion's. Probably my favourite Death album.
Imo human was the first proper progressive death metal album. There were seeds before it but nobody actually made anything similar to what we know as prog-death today. This was the beginning
Human is one KILLER record....the aggression is what blows the mind ... Individual THoght pattern wasnt loud enough, symbolic and Sound of preserverance i werent aggressive enough ...
Maidenize666 The only thing I don't like on this album is the drum sound. Reinert's playing is perfect but the drums themselves don't sound as strong here. Perfect album otherwise!
@coverkillernation I agree, it was an amazing piece of music; the LP that got me into death metal and to this day one of the few albums (Agalloch's 'The Mantle', a couple of other Death albums, Galynerus' 'Beyond the End of Despair..', Windir's '1184' among a few more) that I would give a solid '10/10' rating.
the production ruined this for me. the album is great but i hope the release fixs that. chuck got one of the best bass players ever and you can't hear him thats bullshit.
Yeah, it's the disk (actually I had to buy 'm a couple of times due to loss and rough handling) who definitly (beside Johann Sebastian Bach) has the most rpm in my life.
My favorite metal album ever.
By far my favorite Death album and one of the greatest metal albums ever.
don't forget Individual thought patterns. That album sounds like it could be named human 2

This album is still my favorito i think its death's most aggressive imo
Flattening of emotions always blows me away even after hearing it 10000000 times!!

This is my second favorite Death album, right behind Symbolic.

@Roflauncher looks like i didn't have to, because you were kind enough to do so for everyone. thanks man!
my favorite one. heavy as hell, complex but not too prog like next three
album that more unique when you see how "ITP" bass sounds!!

I LOVE Spiritual Healing but this is just mind blowing!
@mrselfdestruct23 "So glad I saw these guys live quite a few times." I envy you so damn much.
My favourite Death album. Human is the best album Death ever made imo.
idk, symbolic had better solos

6:15 No, that's Neurosis :P
@coverkillernation Dude, you should do BATHORY'S discography next!
Why would you need a review for a death album? Everyone knows Death rules!
