I have to admit I'm not totally awake yet. I read your title as Preparing Guacamole for the TRIAL -- my thought was "OMG what happened????. Thought I had missed a video somewhere. Sorry - I'm old and it isn't daylight out yet -- hope this give you a smile.
I've frozen my avocados in halves to make guacamole later but I've never thought to make the guacamole and freeze it in ice cube trays. Fantastic idea.
Prof Pam⚘️ Thank you... Again I learned Another product to have on hand....I Love your videos... You and Jim and this Community are one of My Blessings... Always #teamcantrell❤
This sounds like a great way to preserve guacamole. I put a deposit on a Harvest Right freeze dryer during their sale last month. 😊 I wish that we had a restaurant supply store like what you have in our area.
I don't freeze guac but I freeze pesto in ice cube trays all summer. A light coat of nonstick spray makes those cubes pop right out. You might want to try that.
A freeze dryer is great but I was 77 when we got ours, so I was doing fine without one in terms of preserving food. It is great that there are alternative ways for preservation.
I have never made guacamole, but is on my list to make and FD. There is a long list of ahead of the guacamole, lol. I’ve heard guacamole FD really well. Love your videos and teaching style, you make learning enjoyable. Thank you and Jim both.
I love how you prepare this! I use the chunky mild pace brand in mine and a bit of sour cream. etc about all the same too! garlic and onion powders sometimes, depends on who helps make the avocado sauce.
i just took out gravy from the FD - 50 hours to process! i hadn’t thought of doing guacamole…i just can’t justify spending the money on avocado. the ones you purchased look pretty good in size.
I think most were about medium size, but the price was about 50 cents each so we got a great buy on them. We got them at our favorite restaurant supply store.
I love this idea! I have always used canned petite tomatoes(drained) in my guacamole but the Pace salsa should be more flavorful. Thanks for the tip. Will this work dehydrated? I don’t own a Freeze dryer.
Twice now my guacamole has been wasted - I haven't put them in a glass jar. We've put them in mylar - they come out beautiful but taste metallic - nothing I can do to make them edible - same kind of recipe - tried twice and avocadoes are expensive - I'm wondering if they have a chemical reaction with the mylar or is it the tray liner you are using because I don't use that either - what is the tray liner - I do not see it on your amazon page???
Interesting. I am not sure about a reaction, but it sounds like that may be the problem. I use black oven liner rolls that I cut to fit. I just put it in our Amazon store so you can take a look.
Tip: once you squeeze the lemon half, put it back through the other way, you’ll be surprised at how much more juice you get!
I have done that and couldn't get much more, but I will certainly try it again. It might depend on the lemon.
@@trailgrazers3690 oh, I’m sure it does. I’m cheap though, I’ll try anything.

LOL! Believe me, I have misspelled it that way more than once!!

That is so exciting! You will love being able to preserve food by freeze drying.
I am thinking this will be a great way to keep in my freezer in individual portions, LOVE IT
So glad you like it!
Loved this video...l don't have a freeze dryer, but l just so enjoy your knowledge of food.
I appreciate that! Thank you.
Mmmm guacamole!
Yes!

Great minds I guess, hubby found the avocados on sale too. Mine are not quite ripe yet, so I have time to run a batch of onions.
Sounds great!
That looks delicious. And so handy!
Yes, very handy! Thanks.
Yummy guac!
😋

You are very welcome.
What a great idea
Glad you like it.
Great idea. I guess everyone’s different, but I like to use lime with my guacamole.
I will sometimes add that as well and it is very yummy!

I know this isn’t really important but like your hair !
Thank you! I appreciate that. I have a recent scar on my forehead that I am trying to cover up, so new hair style works!

I am not sure--it may turn the avocados brown before they dry, but you could try a small batch to check it out.
It would be easier to use a small cookies scoop
If I had one I would certainly try that.
Great video. If you have no vacuum sealer I n the road, how long will the guacamole cubes last?
In the freezer I think you can count on 6 months. If freeze dried but not vacuum sealed maybe a bit longer.
No i meant once its open. No freezer, just freeze dried, but with no option to vacuum seal again. @trailgrazers3690
Hmmm- is there a reason you squeeze your lemons “upside down”? I do mine the other way.
The shape of the squeezer fits cut half down better than the other way, but I will try your way to see if I like it better.

Are you using an OA? The chemical reaction in OA causes the iron in them to rust and you could be tasting that.
when i used tray liners i think it made them edible for the first time. only avocado does this to me
