The suicide bomb isn’t meant to kill your opponent, its meant to remove any evidence of the predator’s existence, and the countdown exists specifically so that people who beat a predator can get away because they’ve earned it
There are bad blood predators who use the suicide bomb to kill their opponents. This predator must be a bad blood and given his spearmaster weaponry, a former spearmaster.
@@SuperBatSpider One thought that occurred to me after my initial response is what about animals and non-technological species? Preds do hunt non-sapient and primitive prey that presumably would die in the blast, not knowing what the countdown likely meant.
@@GriffinPilgrim Bad bloods tend to lower the countdown or attempt to restrain a target during it’s duration. All non-bad bloods hate this and find it dishonorable.
@@SuperBatSpider Makes sense. But again I gotta wonder about those who wouldn't comprehend the danger. I mean Dutch was a 20th century guy and a soldier at that, even without being able read the Yautja language he could recognise a countdown and intuit that he likely didn't wanna be there for whatever it was counting down to. But an animal wouldn't know that and would likely stay in the area (possibly to start eating the dead Predator or just catch it's breath) and a sapient being from a level of technology before electronic countdowns were a thing wouldn't know to run either.
From what I saw the lightsaber went through the neck but stopped once it hit the armour. One assumes that Fett can replace the arm, a lot of folks seem to lose limbs in Star Wars.
In the original storyboards it shows how the lightsaber is supposed to almost cut the predator in half, but the animation didn't really portray this well
I am glad that you are working hard for DB Reaction. I know that you were skeptical before because you felt that this was not the way you projected your channel, but please do continue doing reactions on Death Battles. I love watching it, coz no one in RUclips I have seen as perceptive and incredible in digesting the very essence of Death Battle. Thanks Ris. 😇
Excalibur vs Raiden might be a bonus episode but it's way better presented and structured then the Seven Battle Royale. Also Excalibur is from a video game called Warframe. Meanwhile Raiden is from the Metal Gear franchise but he debuted in Metal Gear Solid 2. Great video as always.
In case you were wondering, the clips of 2D Boba Fett, such as the one for the victory pose, are from hand-drawn animated segments of a Star Wars Christmas Special made between ANH and TESB (A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back)
Boba Fett just chilling on vacation lol. The resort he’s going to is probably gonna cost an arm and a leg tho Always appreciate the Ris reactions, congrats on meeting your 2022 quota! I know keeping to a schedule isn’t always easy. We’re getting close to running out of battles, so you’ll be able to take a break soon! 🎉
Yay! I'm proud of you and have been happy to watch your videos! Ah, yes, you may hunt the BAMF children. Oh the sound quality changed, but no RoboRis! Ooh interesting about the blast
I know this isn't a widely beloved Death Battle & I can agree with some of criticism, being the way they portray the Predator & how the animation contradicts their points in conclusion. One of the weaker episodes in this season, but not the worst. The next Death Battle is actually pretty good. It is a sponsored episode, but it's handled much better compared to the Seven Battle Royale. Also Excalibur is from Warframe.
Well it's nice to see Boba Fett take the win after he lost to Samus a long time ago but yeah, when I mentioned that a character was killed by their own weapon? Predator was that character since once he lost his thermal vision due to being surrounded by fire, he had lost the battle and had to use his suicide bomb to try and take Boba Fett out. Next Time with Warframe's Excalibur and Metal Gear's Raiden, I don't know what I can say about that one since it is a bonus episode and I don't really talk about those types of episodes, but it is really good from what I know of it. See ya next week for your reaction to the only video game matchup of Season 9.
I consider it my responsibility to let you know that the community has accepted the Predator in this animation as "John Yautja" A name I proudly gave him.
It's funny they bring up the net gun but fail to explain the net can shrink and cut into it's pray and shred them to pieces. It's a lot more deadly than it sounds.
I don't have a lot to say about this episode, other than I really like the track, and I don't know why. Also, next time is the funniest episode of the show, don't @ me. It's also one of my favorite episodes of the show. Edit: Quick question, did you have to remove the track,or is just really quiet for some reason?
Fun fight & the animation portrayed the Yautja well given what the animators have seen of the movies, which though is almost always Young bloods or recently Blooded Yautja. But yeah not a good portrayal of a Elder Yautja which is what Boba is put against. A lot of fun stuff of Yautja they didn't include I'm guessing because they didn't have time to search through all the various comics, which aren't as available as DC or Marvel comics. They were once slaves to a even more high tech race, which they eventually overthrown. The Yautja are responsible for wiping out the dinosaurs on earth. Only Blooded Yautja hunt the standard Drone Xenomorph(Alien) Elder & Ancient Yautja hunt entire Xenomorph hives on the Xenomorph home world, which has a Queen mother, not a Queen Xenomorph. A Queen mother is the one that gives birth to Empress Xenomorph which in then turn give birth to the more well known Queen Xenomorph. The size difference between a Queen Mother & Queen Xenomorph is like the size difference between a Queen & Drone Xenomorph. While the Yautja hunt many various alien races they consider Xenomorphs & Humans the greatest thing to hunt. Humans because they are unpredictable. Xenomorphs because they can see the Yautja when they are in camo mode, they are quite intelligent & understand hunting tactics of human level of intelligence & have no fear. They did list what their helmet can do but didn't say what they did. Neuro vision allows them to see their prey emotions. Tech vision which sees energy sources & analyzed tech of their prey. And some unsaid ones Tracker vision which sees pheromones Sound & Vibration detection, which can track the sound of a heartbeat from a far distance. And Alien vision specifically used for Xenomorphs since they love hunting them. Most of their weapons are pretty understandable So the ones less understandable Smart disc is a flying saw that they can remotely control, that's why it came back & hit Boba. The net gun doesn't seem impressive at first but it's a special net that a blade can't cut through & will automatically start shrinking cutting into the captured prey, which yes is horrific & brutal. Some fun non-canon stuff is a Yautja hunted & defeated Batman. Another Yautja hunted & killed Cyclops, Wolverine & Magneto. For the conclusion I'm slightly leaning towards the Elder Yautja, since Boba does have a wide variety of firepower but in a melee fight & battle tactics a Elder Yautja significantly out classes him. The armor doesn't really matter for Boba since his armor while impressive is not covering his entire body & has more exposed then covered which. Elder Yautja would certainly know how to get past since on the Xenomorph home world that they frequently go to is home to the Xenomorph rival which is a creature that has armor that covers all of it that is even immune to the Xenomorph very strong acid blood. Which Elder Yautja have hunted. If a Elder Yautja gets in close Boba would easily lose so could Boba stay at range against the Yautja various tech & gear used to stop moving targets & not get ambushed by the Yautja that uses the terrain for stealth not just it's camo. Boba does have 360 view but a ambush from even 10ft away wouldn't give Boba enough time to retreat.
I'll be honest, this is my least favorite Episode of the Season. There were a lot of noticeable jank, actions that weren't really clear on what happened. It's a mess imo.
I definitely didn't find it a mess, personally. I think I could agree that it was the weakest of the season so far, but that's not saying much with how good the season has been.
One problem I had with this Death Battle was that they clearly state that the fighters throw away any morals they otherwise have that would hold them back, like how Obi-Wan went full Force power against Kakashi. The Predator species, the Yautja, have weapons of war they'll use above and beyond their hunting weapons, and Boba Fett is an opponent with much higher technology than late 20th/early 21st Century Earth. I'd say the Predator would have thrown aside any hunting honor and been armed with them for this fight. Not sure if it would have defeated the Beskar Armor, but Beskar can be heated by energy weapons fire to the point that it will start to incinerate the wearer (like that lightning did), and these more destructive Predator weapons may have been able to do that. Those circumstances would have more definitively proven who would have won this fight. As it is, it seems they unnecessarily tied one of Predator's hand behind his back.
That isn't true actually. Death Battle has stated that the combatants throw away their reluctance to kill, but other personality traits and morals are still taken into account.
Then Obi-Wan Kenobi, as an "honorable Jedi", would have still held back in that fight against Kakashi, but he didn't. This is a Death Battle, not a hunt. The "honorable" Predator should have been given his full arsenal.
@@Brasc You are correct about Obi-Wan, but did you stop and think why they didn’t bring up that argument again for Yoda, or why they argued the opposite for Predator?
@@Brobuscus101 Because King Mickey's power level was too large for Yoda to close the gap. I admit that Boba Fett might still win this fight even with the Predator having his full arsenal, but they're leaving it out just leaves this Death Battle with more questions. A Predator entering a fight against an opponent with technology from a galaxy with FTL travel and energy weapons is going to bring more advanced weapons than those he brought to 20th Century Earth.
They only remove morals if it would create the argument "they wouldn't kill this person, they would just be friends." And things like that. Anything else is fair game because it lends itself to their battle tactics. In Obi Wan vs Kakashi, Obi Wan could have easily force choked him and won instantly. But force choking people isn't in Obi Wan's character so they left that ability out. Whether or not someone is willing to fight dirty is something that definitely should be taken account of. Otherwise you're not testing characters in a fight, you're just pitting abilities and math against one another.
Everytime I see this episode I can't help but feel like it would've been better if it was The Mandolorian vs the Predator. I just don't really like Boba Fett
The suicide bomb isn’t meant to kill your opponent, its meant to remove any evidence of the predator’s existence, and the countdown exists specifically so that people who beat a predator can get away because they’ve earned it
That part seems to vary; the City Hunter was gonna set off his in a situation that was very likely to kill Harrigan.

Yeah, the sound quality just changed 'cause the fight music was copyright claimed and RUclips auto-removed it to the best of its AI ability.
Good on you for meeting your goals.
I think this was a no brainer because beskar is a cheat code and taking on Jedi masters is harder than anything a predator ever fought.

I almost didn't just because of that one explosion lol
The next Death Battle is a company asking DB "can you use this character? We'll pay you. Yeah do whatever you want we don't care if he kills or dies."
