It's great to see women like JJ debunk all menopause myths instantly, I mean just look at her!!! Of course she is aging well because she is committed to her health and obviously working hard, but it certainly can be done. Empowering conversation. Thank you both ❤
JJ Virgin certainly does know her stuff! Thoroughly enjoyed this interview ... I think the female age group 60+ is very under represented. Thanks Max for sharing another fantastic guest with us.
Sorry but I train fasted with great workouts. I thought that we are in ketosis when fasting so aren’t we using fat for our energy source instead of carbs (sugar)🤔. So for me as a 90% carnivore I believe I am burning fat with weight training and walking so will continue with training fasted thank you
Max any chance you could do a summary of basic points at beginning or end of each podcast..so those of us who have shorter attention spans or limited listening time could get the basics then look up the specific section that interests us. Section one: general intro. Section two: exercises that are burning sugar and not fat....Section ten: Summary.....etc. You're smarter than me so I'll leave it to you...I believe you'll get more listeners if they could tailor it to their interest. Thanks
It would be great . I try to check the list of recommended supplements but unfortunately there is non. It would be great to have it so we can easily find it
I know right? I was beginning to wonder when they were going to get to that. It was a good interview but it wasn't really a specific to what the video title says.
For a 60 year old female her arms are nothing short of awesome -- I am seriously awe struck 💪 Great episode, lots of good info! All that said, you need to work on the volume balance. It was hard to hear her without turning the volume up to the point where it hurt when you were speaking
I run loads and I hardly feel hungry after running. Sometimes I'm hungry in the morning, and after a half marathon in 2 hours, the hunger disappears. I then have to make myself eat. I think if you've been doing a particular exercise for long, your body adapts and gets efficient.
Thank you so much Max to both yourself and JJ for an amazing episode that was incredibly insightful, interesting and a joy to listen to! In my opinion your podcast is becoming so engaging that I really look forward to every new episode.
Hey Max, I have always enjoyed your videos. Unfortunately, JJ never mentioned the use of BHRT for the mental/muscular /skeletal health for post menopausal women. As an OB/GYN,/Neonatal nurse for 30 years BHRT is extremely beneficial! JJ looks great , so I’m pretty sure she’s on BHRT herself. Maybe you ran out of time?
Very interesting, thank you! One question though: If one eats a ketogenic diet and is therefore in ketosis, is it then not the case that it is possible to burn fat? And hence the idea of a fasted workout without any food and especially no carbs? Looking forward to your answer. Thanx again from a nun-bulky 53 year old female who loves resistance training 🙂
This makes much more sense than the keto/carnivore approach. I could never understand why you would want to eat all the fat and butter... seemed counter initiative to me. I mean why would I want to consume copious amounts of the very substance I was targeting to lose. If my body was too low on fat would it not liberate the fat stored? Why not draw the fat from your body first before adding extra fat to the food you are eating. There my come a point where you may need to add fat but I would think that point would not come until you had a super low body fat and showed no signs of slowing down.
I've seen many videos where people talk about carnivore and I have friends on Facebook who have been on that diet they're losing massive amounts of weight, and they seem very fit. I think it depends on someone's individual metabolism type.
@@Savannah-ed4rv I get what you are saying I just don't see the value in adding sticks of butter on your plate when eating a ribeye... It has lots of fat do you re3ally benefit from adding even more?
For creatine, the research says if you're an athlete there is some benefit to taking it a few hours before you work out. The only effect it has is on very short duration, 100% effort type exercise, it has no impact on endurance. For the regular population take it whenever it's convenient, you'll get the brain benefits and the HIT impacts regardless.
I don't want to be overcritical and I do appreciate that they have lots of knowledge. But life is not that simple. I am a physio and I can guarantee that a big group of my patients would never be able to live their posh lifestyles. Food they talk about (e.g. wild salmon) is too expensive for every day life, so are the supplements. Many people have already had medical problems so please dont advocate submaximal workouts for them cause that will only result in injuries. Most people incl myself can't afford her lifestyle... meditation, hyperbaric chamber, have a breakfast 1-2 later, go to the gym... well, we have to get up early and rush to work... we eat when we have lunchbreak, often multitasking. We have no time to throw a steak on and no money to eat out. I am lucky to find time to go to the gym twice a week max.. i am not being funny, but they both make us feel like we are too lazy to make changes, whilst they areactually the privileged ones.
Is she talking about a dexa scan for bones? And I've always been a fan of exercise but I'm 63 years old and really don't have energy to do what she's doing! Even when I did my arms didn't look like hers so she must be spending hours working on her body!

On the point of collagen, amazing for joints. I've noticed a MASSIVE difference since starting to take it.

I am in my 50s and trained fasted over 20 years and still going strong too. And I am a personal trainer 😊
@@Christine-xs2of thank you💪👍

58:05 - How to reduce fat around the waist area specifically
I know right? I was beginning to wonder when they were going to get to that. It was a good interview but it wasn't really a specific to what the video title says.
Can someone do a rundown of the supplements she recommends thank you they’re very helpful 🙏
Great interview, so educational. Take the time to listen!
I wonder if she's on HRT? As she mentioned, women lose estrogen and hormones at menopause.

It was difficult to listen with the difference in the sound level! Probably mainly that she's more soft-spoken than Max.
Yes, she is also sitting farther from her mic which doesn’t help either.😕 Great interview though!
I love this! What collagen does she / you recommend ?
Fantastic, thank you Max and JJ!

What kind of anti aging products do you use
I also love Dry Farms wine! And coffee! ☕️ 🍷
I like to drink 🍷 once in a while to help me reset my circadian rhythm to an earlier sleep & wake schedule...
