The fact that the devs came out and point blank said “please don’t call our game a scam” right before they released it into “early access” is all the proof you need that this game is in fact a scam.
You are a scam just like these bot reviewers
Who didn't expect this to happen? It was obvious from the beginning that this was fishy, and wouldn't be anything like the trailers at all.
Every time someone says they’re surprised it turned out like this I feel like laughing. There were so many signs and red flags over the years it was bound to end up like this.
@@boombop4980 when I'm in an overrating mediocre games over a few promos competition and my opponents are terminally online preordering gamers😳😳
sadly this is the norm nowadays , delivering unfinished janky buggy games ... that's what this world has come to and it's really sad
@@boombop4980ikr
@@davidcorodeanu4535 only cuz they are lazy and think they can fix it in the future after profiting off of people who "cant think". then proceed to never fix anything only to make bugs better but matta is shit lol. shit cracks me up i agree with you. when Mario on super Nintendo released on sega there were bugs and graphics were shit. but only a few bugs that werent really bad if anything it also gave you advantage. nowadays they didnt fix that issue. they made the situation worse by adding pay to win content, starter packs that contain items and currency easily accessible by playing the game. like the one recently released by bungie. i can understand cons. but when the cons are on the level of releasing a game that barely works because of gameplay bugs something needs to be said regardless if you make money from games or not. ultimately its both sides who pay for a shitty game. well said in simpler terms brother hopefully daddy cross sees our comments lol ive been watching him for a long time good dude even off internet you can tell
Should have "cross" examined it first
😂
*WHEEEEEZZZzzz* HA! Good one!
*wipes tear from eye*
Bum bum tahhh
That joke “cross”d me at first😂
Oh you think you’re real funny don’t ya? 🗿
Cuz it sure cracked me up 💀💀💀
"online chess has better servers then this" is crazy lmao
I literally went straight to the comments looking for this... had me dying fr
I don't get this joke. Like obviously it has better servers? It's chess?
@@tomekk.1889 *whoosh* that’s the point of the joke going right over your head 🤦🏻♂️
The writing wasn’t just on the walls for this one, it was a giant fucking neon sign colored red. I genuinely feel for all the people that ended up buying this because I guarantee that support for this game will die out in less than a year. The assholes that made this crap got what they wanted in the end: a shit ton of publicity and money. Money that will line their pockets now and publicity they can use to secure even more money in the future from an equally shitty product that they decide to later regurgitate.
A lot of people don't read up all that shit on video games, it doesn't matter how much content there is warning them.. Many people won't see it.
I mean, the only impressing thing they have is how ballsy these people are for charging $40 for an early access piece of crap that surely was rushed and made in just a few months when they kept being called out... Went form a literal scam to practically a scam.
Casual gamers don’t buy games like this crap shoot. It’s idiot gamers who want another Tarkov or Dayz who want to keep up with their stupid “influences.” There was a GIANT NEON SIGN saying “Massive Scam incoming….” Yet morons continue to buy trash ware.
I know right, I still seeing people at they like this game and can’t wait for the updates. It’s mind blowing.I’ve decided that most people are just dumb and that 50% of them are even dumber.
Why even feel bad? They are so fucking stupid for falling for this shit they deserve to not have any $$$
There are people standing up to defend this game, saying "it's not that bad" and "they'll fix it with patches," all the usual crap.
You will always find people defending games no matter how garbage the game is
I can think of only 2 games this bad that actually made a turnaround like that. No Man's Sky and FFXIV. The latter was more of a remake though, as the game shut down in the interim, while they rebuilt it.
People have short memory
I lost a lot of faith with my fellow gamer brethren after realizing Fallout 76 had a considerable share of defenders back in the day. These people have absolutely no standards and will gladly throw money blindly at companies blatantly ripping them off. Despite that, I doubt this game will be relevant after a month or two. Fntastic has a terrible record and are a shady developer, they will ditch the game and run with the money they siphoned from players who were stupid enough to buy this obvious scam of a game.
@@lumpychucks6457except for the other 2 games those were built from the ground up. This one there's a reddit that has a list of all the assets they bought from the UE store and used it in the game. The overwhelming majority of the stuff in Day before uses assets bough from the store.
It's been entertaining seeing all the red flags this game was throwing up, and yet people are still doing their best surprised Pikachu face.
I wish I could go back to the day before the idea for this game came into being
You'd be going back to like 30,000 different random people's ideas before you found the right one with how generic this game is 😭
@@RipRLeeErmeycrazy how generic it is but nobody can do it right😭
The original trailers showed an awesome looking game. They didn't deliver what they advertised
the idea is cool, and the mechanics the first trailers had were very good
the fact that they deleted the trailers from long ago should already be enough for us to know about how bad this game is. I can smell the crowbcat video coming soon.
Crowbcat should also do the Finals. Goofy ahh game 😭
@@nailinthefashionThe Finals is actually good and made by passionate ex DICE devs.
Just cause you think it's goofy doesn't mean a thing.
It's an amazing arena shooter with great movement and destruction that no other game has.
@@ThePackman627 you're right so I hope you buy the horribly ugly cosmetics cuz unique gameplay won't keep the dev team paid LMFAOOO been thru it many times, Paragon, Anthem, Battleborn, and so on. Pretty sure Marathon will appear and snap Finals' neck but hey, enjoy it while you can. I have about 90 hours in Anthem 🤷🏾♂️
Dice, you mean the people who completely fumbled with Battlefront 2? Omg hahaha yeah they're SO impressive
@@nailinthefashion so finals will die because the cosmetics are bad? lmao. Wouldn't put much stock into marathon which we barely know anything about.
@@hi-iq7zdd not just the cosmetics but the incoherent style, it's really cringe overall and leans into that. Of the people I've spoken to, the people who actually like the game, are dozens of matches in, aren't buying anything bc it looks like shit. Who wants a bright NEON green alien suit in a game where you literally want to be invisible? It's silly and sad to see them fumble such easy bags.
Hate on Blizzard all you want but Overwatch is thriving and sustainable because they are making MONEY not just the thousands of concurrent, consistent players but people financially supporting the development. Season 9 will have some of the best stuff yet despite them canceling most of the pve projects.
Maybe you guys just wanna have fun for a year and don't care if the servers get shut down, but you should, you shouldn't just mock people giving negative feedback but realize why the casuals won't ever want to stick around, and a small fanbase of sweaty, mean, elitist people who don't even want to support their own game financially isn't what they, or anyone want.
And then on top of all that, it's NEXON. You can literally search for dozens of videos on how they let their games flop, I've seen it first hand with Maple Story and Mobinogi, 1st Descendant looks like a horrible Warframe clone. I mean, the writing is on the wall but you can ignore it and enjoy your game if you wanna
bro they did not only get inspiration from other games, that city was a unreal asset that was free a few months back lmfao
You know, this Year was so abundant with games, im suprised we haven't had a Worst Game Of The Year Awards
Theres been so many bad games this year that I think someone needs to rank all the worst games
Angry Joe needs to deliver.
Angry Joe, the Jimquisition...
...yeah, is this game worse than Gollum or Kong or Redfall...yikes!
too long of a video...
🤣
Don't forget The Walking Dead. 🤓
It amazes me how 2023 has simultaneously been both one of the best years and worst years for video games. Crazy times.
Usually, I'll not swear, but this game necessitates it .......
*IT'S SHIITTEEE!!*
Bro this on you man, this shit was outed as a fucking asset flip scam a long time ago
This game was bound to be awful. I mean there was genuinely no way that this game was gonna be even decent after all of the bs surrounding the marketing.
Hell if I gotta question if the game is even real, then there’s an issue.
*The Day I Got Scammed*
That ALARM going reeee reeeee reeeee made me turn off Doc’s stream. Tinnitus pain. Side note, a zombie game with no melee?????? Not thought out very well
“Not thought out very well” is the understatement of the year. There’s no thought put into this game beyond “what can we do to scam people into giving us money?”
@@mriguy7989 lol, that’s fair.
For a second I was like, The Division beta was like 8-9 years ago...
Thank you for spending the money! Saved me
This makes me sad cuz that initial gameplay trailer or whatever it was and the gameplay loop looked so good and fun. Hopefully someone takes this idea and actually makes a banger out of it
idk who didn't see this coming from that whole fiasco a few months back
I haven’t tried any extraction shooters on pc. But as far as consoles I believe Division Survival did this best! Involving other groups and hunters made the experience so great. I miss the old Division.
Agreed, just didn't have base building, tarkov is really good for what it's turning into extremely slowly. Now they have kind of left tarkov itself to work on tarkov arena. Which has left some cheaters to easily break code and well start cheating 😆 its not as bad as it was months ago but still likely to run into a cheater or two when you que up for a couple hours
The problem with their inspirations is the fact that outside of that, they haven't the slightest original thought whatsoever. And the only assets in the game that are good are the parts they just bought from a store. Anything they had to make themselves is shoddy at best.
Even the city is a 300€ asset 😂
@@emilskukojs3783 didn't know the pricetag on it, but I did see that the UI is a 65$ asset
There has to be legal action against this company. It’s becoming an alarming trend where companies just create hype, ship a game out that is not even close to being completed, and then spend 3 years fixing it
I saw this coming. I also knew that I would just sit and wait to see reviews. Money saved!!! Learn folks
Pre alpha division has landed
Comparing it to the Division is genuinely an insult
Studio closed, took the money, closed their site down, and was like "SO LONG SUCKERS!"
Hey mom can you get me the Division or Last of Us please?
Mom: of course sweetie i already got you something super spesh for Christmas
Everyone who seriously didn't see this scam a mile away are the ones who keep timeshares alive
Game made me think of Open World Social Extraction Shooter because of that camp thing. The idea of utilizing vehicles to extract items fro the game world sounds pretty cool. Pull up to an abandoned furniture store with the buds in a truck and loot the pieces to extract back to your bachelor pad. Maybe sell the coffee rabe to someone if you dine need it and buy an AK. Team up with randoms and squad up to get some jewelry from a bank vault infested with zombies. Bring them back to sell and buy the truck you needed for the furniture.
With Last of Us style gunplay, cash shop but they're just equally fun recolors of in game cosmetics, and seasonal expansions to the city-- gimme THAT zombie game.
This game could be this if you support it
@@B0UNTYHUNTER67no it can't, it's fundamentally broken, it's built with asset pack textures and logic that would be incompatible and broken if mixed with others, that's why yhe game doesn't work now, so many sections of logic that are contradicting it's self and crashes to to memory over load because it will just keep declaring new variables to put in your ram
Seems a little over thought I played and it worked good for me
@@B0UNTYHUNTER67 it "worked good" for you, did it? Well I assume you aren't the sharpest tool in the shed because what I said went completely over your head and you clearly don't understand software engineering specifically building logic for 3d environments... come on you must have taken at least a cnc class in highschool...
Fntastic, the developer behind controversial Steam Early Access launch The Day Before, has shut down with immediate effect.
Im more interested that I saw HADES II in that wishlist! Are they making a sequel game?!
Why yes, yes they are. It was mentioned during the game awards too...
Google and not living under a rock are your friends...
I mean when you make the first and only Hugo award wining game a squeal is kind of required.
Where have you been my dude? Living under a rock? Lol
@@mriguy7989 ehh. I beat the game last yr and it hasnt been in my mind so its a nice surprise. Dont keep up with alot of gaming news like game awards n such
Worst is a bit of a stretch but it is still a crime against gaming
Yoooooo i cant believe you added a clip of my town in the opening !!!! Wooooo ❤
My interest in this game only existed when I assumed it was a Division clone. For all their faults, I love both Division games, and I was hoping there’d be some fresh eyes on the genre and some interesting new ideas. When they announced it’d be zombies again, my interest died completely, and I only paid attention because I was curious how this would end up going.
Delay after delay basically confirmed that this wouldn’t be anything other than bad. Glad this shitshow is finally out for everyone else to see, just wish more people would have waited and watched videos of content creators who bought it first.
I mean shit even TheRadBrad refunded it. If that isn’t the end all be all review idk what is.
And nobody is surprised. When a game has to resort to stealing clips of other games and constantly covering up what it really is there’s no other way it could be
crazy how the division 1 is a better extraction shooter than the day before
Content creators will make more on The Day Before than Fntastic with all the refunds lol
Whatever happens with destiny, you should definitely transition to gaming news and reviews, watching you cover different games is incredibly valuable and entertaining.
When the game was first announced, I thought that it could work as a solo/squad game with a story. Kinda like a new version of Dying Light meets Division. A little more grounded, but with the whole, here’s quests, here’s some exploration, hell, here’s some settlement building. The MMO part never clicked in my head. The extraction stuff didn’t click. Nothing they ever showed sounded like a game built for any of that or even PVP. Like they said stuff and to me, it didn’t look like what they were showing.
When it came out that they were pimping an entirely different IP, I thought, ok, game probably was a tech demo for whatever BS they wanted to actually sell.
This game has no value and I can’t imagine the servers will be up for very long. This game doesn’t do anything well. It’s sorta pretty, but it’s also store assets, they tend to be pretty. Even if the game played well, like operationally, why would I play this? Let’s say you can crank up the zombies, the server population isn’t all inside the safe house, they add vaulting and ladder climbing and blah blah blah. Why would I play this? This doesn’t look like it’s got a plan. The loop is uninteresting and the end goal isn’t there. Oh, I can buy a car? Great…why?
Do you want to know what needs to get made? One of these games where you change the world around you. Yes, it will have an “end”, but you can move onto different cities and towns and locales to have new challenges thrown at you.
Let’s use what is here as a start. Ok, go in, clean out an apartment building and store, put up some barriers, get solar panels, some batteries, clean out the apartments and make them livable. Build some gardens, figure out water solutions. Slowly expand outwards and retake things from zombies and assholes. I want to feel like I’m making a difference and that the world I’m in changes with it, becomes cleaner, nicer, organized.
I’m glad that I’m not like none of the losers that when they see the first trailer, think this was actually going to be good. I didn’t even get hype once looking at the showcase. I’m glad that I wasn’t wrong
Most wishlisted game and this shits how of a launch is the first I've personally heard of it. Sucks all these people got burned but I mean this feels unsurprising at all as an outsider looking in essentially
I bought it on day one along with others. I knew it was gunna bomb, but steam will refund if you play for under 2 hours so I decided to be there for the drama lol. I’d imagine most the people who bought this game did the same.
I wouldn't make my worst enemy play this game.
The fact they went on release day to their channel to delete old trailers has to be one of the BIGGEST red flags 🚩 I’ve ever seen
Fake ambient gun shot sounds in the background to sim a real open MMO is wild lmfao
You know this is a scam game that they put together to avoid a lawsuit
10:30 I hope some developers do exactly what they tried to do with this game but make it good and an actual banger.
The Division did this but INFINITELY better with Survival. I mean tbh, The Division did everything better than this game. Say what you want about the Dark Zone, but it was exactly what it said it was going to be, an absolute free for all.
@@ryanclune3883the Division also turned into a hackers paradise where you would get instagibbed by an infinite ammo machine gun from across the map (at least on PC). Even on console, the Dark Zone turned into a “decked out players using broken builds running around and slaughtering anyone who stepped foot into the DZ.” It really wasn’t as great as people made it out to be.
@@mriguy7989 I’ve seen people say this about the DZ before, and I rarely encountered cheaters. The op builds was part of why the DZ was so interesting. You could farm high end PvE for sure, but to get the best gear you had to farm the DZ and extract gear. RIP to the OG Classified Striker build, fuck the Predator builds lmao.
@@ryanclune3883 cheaters were pretty rampant at one point on PC. I couldn’t count the number of times I got sniped by a fast firing, infinite ammo machine gun from across the map. And while you may have found the OP builds fun, it made the game extremely unbalanced and unfair which most people don’t find fun.
The thing I find funny is the first gameplay video's they posted looked so much better and had so many more features than the version they have released after switching to UE5 the game they have released is completely differently to what they showed..
This developer ( if u can call it that) has never had a full game, a game that works 100%, and many many sketchy stuff so I don’t know why people got hyped for this company and “ It’s game”! A game that is a mixture/ convoy and paste of many other game. This is a Frankenstein!
This was such a shame. Because i thought this was gonna be a polished DayZ. If it was just DayZ fused with The Division this game would be amazing
Nobody will ever convince me that this entire game wasn't hastily thrown together as a panicked response to their fake non existent game trailer going hyper-ultra-mega-super duper viral. There's absolutely positively zero muthafkn chance that this game was being developed for years like Mytona and FNtastic claimed.
You are 100% correct. It’s further backed up by the devs asking people to not call the game a scam right before it got released.
I don't understand why this indie game gathered so much hype. It looked bad from the beginning, but somehow people got excited.
People got excited because they were too stupid to realize that the very first trailer that was ever shown was nothing more than a pre-rendered, scripted vertical slice of a version of the game that was to never actually exist. Everything that was shown after that made it even more obvious that this whole thing was a scam from the start.
The amount of refunds is gonna bankrupt them. And in no way does this look like UE5.
If you watch the trailer most of the things showcased in it doesn't actually exist in game.
It's not a game. It's just a massive collection of store bought assets. They tracked them down, and listed them on Reddit ! There are several hundred of them. Not just the buildings, the cars, the weapons, and the player avatars, but also all the clutter on the streets, the roads, the trees, the interiors, the inventory system, the survival mechanics, the weather, the skybox, the day/night cycle - literally EVERYTHING is a store bought pre-made, uncredited asset !!
Damn, Axtecross is roasting this game too!
The day before was better than the day after watching this game
TheRadBrad played this for like a hour and got a refund. If the King Of The RUclips Walkthroughs gets refund, then it's got to be bad.
Something similar to what this game was meant to be is Blight: Survival, It is not released yet but looks cool, hopefully it will not be the same as this game though when it comes out.
The Division 1 Survival mode was way ahead of its time.
Imagine the division (Ubisoft) makes a zombie DLC like red dead undead nightmare...Now that will be interesting
I went over 3 hours and steam still allowed me the refund.
Happy, because that playtime was in no way indicative of my actual experience lol.
2 hours of server hunting throughout the day, and an hour of actual gameplay lol.
I can’t believe they got away with just purchasing a template city bundle from the epic store, with some underbaked gameplay mechanics crammed in with 2% effort.
Sad I actually was excited for this and sad for the “volunteers” who helped to work on the game, what a waste of time - while those two weirdo’s horde all the millions they’ve just made.
Annnddd the studio just shut down, lol
I loved the flame games for this year...
Gollum, Kong,...and now The Day Before.
All the content from these games going up in flames...made this year truly a banger.
Thank you for your sacrifice Cross. It will be interesting to see if larger/more competent company's take the idea of this game and make something good out of it.
"I'm tired of Destiny. I can't wait to finally play a REAL game."
The "real" game:
Man... Midfield, The Day Wasted.. TOP TIER BRO
Am I the only one who heard him say abby's racks were one of the slightly redeeming features?😂
I was more than disappointed. I thought this game was gonna be cool since it's initial reveal trailer I thought wow that's cool, I saw the overwhelming negative. But do do me bought it anyway, and well. To say I couldn't even play the damn game. Not on low servers, not on medium, and the game gas lights you and says it's your internet connection. I have fibre keep in mind. I returned it and got my 40 back. I disappointed myself the most and not listening to the community. And im just glad I didn't go over the two hours.
I might sound crazy but I'm 1000% they are trying to get people to play the game and between the server issues, slow gameplay and very slow tutorial force you to play the game for over 2 hrs. Voiding your ability to refund
I keep hearing that Steam lets you refund beyond two hours for any game that is considered early access. If that’s true, then the devs shot themselves in the foot by giving the players an easy way out of the obvious cash grab scam.
So, what will happen afterwards? Will there be legal action against the makers of The Day Before? I did not know about this game until this news started popping up everywhere... but am interested in hearing of any post-company-closure events.
Remember Devs, delaying a game is temporary, suck is forever
Steam is currently giving out refunds for this game even past the 2 hour window.
Cross I would encourage you and anyone else to refund this game regardless of how many hours you've put in it. Don't give these devs money.. this is a straight up asset flip scam
I thought you could get refunds beyond the two hour window any time a game is in the “early access” status.
On your 40 bucks, the scamvelopers made ... 40$ !
Yeah, this is gonna be a game that I wait a couple of years to get. I honestly don't even think that it'll be running by then though, knowing the developers track record.
I am loving the non-destiny content just as much as your destiny stuff. 🎉
Cross makes anything he plays/does into something funny and entertaining. That’s more than I can say about some other Destiny content creators trying to branch out and IMO, failing miserably in the process (cough, Datto, cough).
Surprised it was not given a game of the year at Game Awards .
Games that aren't scams never say "please don't call us scam"
I slipped into their discord and saw a person ask about these fixes.. the mods response .. No no no these are just small fixes.. the fixes will come at wipe ...some of the fixes. Then said mod followed by "We are just as mislead as anyone else here, the only difference the developers are actually being paid for this and we dont" I screenshotted this and refunded my game.
I would personally like to thank these labrats for buying the game day one and let us know how the game actually is... Really useful info for us consumers as it would greatly influence our decision to get the game or not.
Bro i think nobody said it yet but i'm gonna give the proper credits to the thumbnail because i laughed so hard at that without even seeing the video yet omg 😂
How did you play for so long without without putting a scope on any gun?
Me over here "enjoying" rust 🤣
I know MUD servers that have been around for 30+ years. That have more players logged on, that are stable, and have more monsters to fight. The best part is almost all of them are free to play.
Worst games cross has played:
1: The day before.
2: Destiny
I played the original (Krusty's Super Fun House) on the Super NES. I can guarantee you that this is not the worst game ever made. I'll admit that it is really bad but it is not the worst.
great video production. this game is definitely a meme
Didn't anyone realize it's the division with a zombie thrown in.😂
The way I see it- they steered all the controversy for the purpose just so when the game is released, people would buy it for the purpose of checking if it's any good, made crappy servers so people would go pass that 2 hours time where you can refund it and simply cash in on the curiosity of players and never do anything on it.
tl;dr, it's still a scam game but different than anyone thought it would be.
Could you imagine losing all of your vault 😂
When the smoking gun for how empty they knew the "servers" would be is a literal gun sound clip.
And it’s even more egregious when you realize that gun sounds in a game like this are supposed to be an integral part of you playing the game by letting you know there’s danger nearby. It’s part of the gameplay loop. But the gun sounds are just faked to give the illusion of “full servers”. It’s both hilarious and absolutely pathetic at the same time.
The Devs really asked themselves how they could make the DarkZone from the Division, but more shit, unfinished and for under 2k and found the answer on the Unreal Asset store.
literally never heard of this
IF THIS is the Worst Game you have ever played I question what kind of gaming you have ever done.
i feel like everybody has forgotten how rough dayz was when it launched as a standalone. like clearly its rough but dayz started out the same way and to be honest the zombie density for dayz has only recently been increased used to only see a zombie or 2 every like hour
I knew that this game would be even after it released would be as bad as everyone before thought and at that price also, nope i stayed so far away from this game.
I hate how early access is an excuse for games in today’s age. Glad I grew up in the days when games came out complete.
Early access, when used appropriately, can do wonders to help a game and its developers out. Perfect example would be something like Baldur’s Gate 3 which won Game of the Year this year. But unfortunately, there are too many people out there that use early access as an excuse for why their game sucks or to hide the fact that their game is a cash grab scam.
3:04 ive heard that before 🗿
I had to take a double-take on the channel name. You sound so much like MxR 😂😂😂
