I'm a late college goer. I graduated high school in 2015 and just this week applied for the Spring 2017 semester as a Freshman at TAMU. I was already interested in the modular style dorm and this just solidified it for me.
I'm going to Texas A&M this fall and am staying in a modular hall! This has definitely helped me with how I plan on setting up my room next year and given me tips for storage! Thank you so much!

Especially if one roomate is sleeping and one in restroom area changing clothes... Of course i will be decorating and picking bedding and supplies.. I plan on getting small fridge too.. Is there a grocery store close by? How did you raise your beds? Is the cafeteria open on weekends?

This was so helpful! I noticed y'all had one closet in the hallway by the bathroom and one by the beds. Did you split both closets with your roommate or did you each take one full closet? And I got these 6-shelf hanging closet organizers. Would those be beneficial? I noticed that only one of the closets would be able to fit a hanging closet organizer. Also, my roommate and I were thinking of raising the bed and putting the desk underneath. Would the bed be tall enough? Lol sorry for all these questions. Thanks for the video! Yes, we each have 2 closets. There are 4 closets total in the room (2 in the hallway by the bathroom & 2 by the beds) , so we each had 2 to ourselves. I used the shelf hanging closet organizers to store my shoes, you could totally use them somehow! The hanging organizer will probably only work in the closet by the bed, but you could hang 3 or so up. You could raise your bed to put a desk underneath, it will definitely go that high. We just didn't want to climb up the ladder every time to get to bed (#lazygirlprobs haha!). Let me know if you have any more questions, I would love to help! You picked the BEST school ever! Have tons of fun!!!
tisch parks They aren't remodeling any north side dorms. The last time I heard about changes are that they were trying to revert HAAS into mostly honors students. They are fixing the commons and the quads. There might be more changes, but don't know. (Class of '17)

I'm a senior and have also been looking into TAMU since I live in Texas and I was just wondering if there is anyway to have your own dorm or if you can rent an apartment nearby, but I've also heard its mandatory for some colleges for freshmans to be in the dorms. An also I was wondering if we could bring our own mattress cause i'm a serious germaphobe and my friends who graduated said that some colleges reuse mattresses! lol
Yes, I think you can get your own room in some of the dorms. As a freshman, you do not have to live on campus or in the dorms. There is plenty of apartments around to choose from if you do not want to live on campus. You could bring your own mattress probably if you could somehow leave their mattress in your room. One of their rules is that all the furniture they own has to stay in your room & you can't move it out. Fortunately, all of our furniture & mattress was brand new this year....I think we just got lucky! You totally need to take a tour of TAMU if you have not before! :)

AHHH CONGRATS GIRL, THATS SO EXCITING! I honestly don't know. My roommate & I did that as well on the first day of opening, 2 years ago. We for sure wanted to be roommates & put our roommate preference first & hall preference 2nd. Everyone that I have talked to who lived in Hullabaloo put hall first & just went potluck for roommates. Maybe since it is a few years old the demand for Hullabaloo won't be as high. Best of luck!

Yes, super easy! Especially if you don't press over them. Just lightly place them on the wall & then when you want to take them off they peel off easy! :)
My roomie actually did it! I don't think it was that hard. I think she just had the cable that came with the tv. If you bring an apple tv I think you will need an HDMI cable...totally not for sure on your question. sorry!

No worries at all! I got twin XL in everything because I got a mattress pad for my bed (which I would recommend, it made my bed way more comfy). With the mattress pad on the twin XL fit perfect!
I am going there in 2023 and that's when I graduate and yay class of 2023 and my dad served so I get any college I want to go to for free and because my served in the army and you are amazing
I'm applying for housing at the moment and I was wondering if you know which halls are best for freshmen? I'm more of an introvert and prefer not to be where the parties are at. Great video btw :)
Hullabaloo would be my pick if I was a freshman, not sure if there are parties there. But it is only a few years old & the nicest! There is a Starbucks at the bottom of it, nice hangout area & also has good study rooms! Each floor in all of the dorms have a couple of RAs, they help to keep the noise/parties to a minimum! my dorm walls are going to be textured also. did you have any problems with the gold dots staying on the wall? did any ever fall off?
Not really! I would say only about 5 or so fell down the entire year!
