Just wondering what happened to the furniture that was originally in the room.
I think they hid the original desk under the bed (why they had to raise the bed up). I'm pretty sure the bed frame is the original and they put risers underneath.

Me too. In my dorm you can't remove furniture!
More than likely they had building services pick it up. Many schools have a storage area with extra dorm furniture in case something gets broken or damaged.

Fabulous. My daughter is going back to school in the Fall and moving into her one bedroom apartment on campus. Central Washington Univ. in Ellensburg, WA. We are so so excited. I love what you did with her room. I definately could use some of the storage ideas shown. I love the wire rack in the bathroom with the 3 colored bins underneath. Decorative, but yet stylish. when I make the video of my daughters room, I will definitely let you know so you can watch.
My mother, father, and uncle all went to that school, that's crazy. Let me know too!

Nikki you did an amazing job!! I love how much bigger the space looks. and let me just say, Jewel is a beauty! Those college boys are going to be knocking on her door trying to take her to dinner!
Oh Nikki! I have enjoyed all the vlogs relating to your niece's move and enjoyed everyone. I still wasn't prepared for the way at all fit together. I have seen much about dorm rooms, simply to learn about best use of small space. Naturally, what you did has outshone them all.
A few questions:
- where did the dorm furniture go that was replaced?
- where do find extended family and boyfriend who are so genuinely supportive of Jules and what you were doing for her?
- where do the cushions go while sleeping, etc.? There was certainly an abundance of them,
Nikki, even if I didn't love what you did to the room, and other spaces (but I do!) there is something that stands out by a mile there. It is simply how much Jules is loved. It's in everything that was made, bought, placed, cleaned and left for her to start her new college life.

Wow! Jewel is such a lucky young lady! She certainly has all the beautiful tools in place for a very successful year, thanks in large part to her amazing cousin, Nikki! I really love the set up she has at her dorm. I would have loved it back in my university days! So organized in conjunction with the attention to aesthetic details. Heaven!!!
My standard advice for all college freshmen is to treat their school work like a regular job. Go to class and study, Monday through Friday, from 8am to 5pm (with a few short breaks and a quick lunch thrown in the mix). Then you'll have all evenings and weekends to socialize and enjoy! However, on those weeknights where you're not socializing, throw in a few loads of laundry and then you don't have to compete during the busy laundry time on the weekends. Good or bad time management can respectively make or break your college career! Best of luck, Jewel!!!

I've watched this video going into my senior year of High School year . I am now going into my freshman year of college. I have showed my mother this video and told her I need all of this (in my own style of course, I dont want to copy her). But if i could get my dorm room to look like this I would be so happy

Wow. I was so amazed by how much the dorm changed. It gives the dorm more personality and it feels like you're at home. If you decorated my room I feel as if I would be overwhelmed with how great it would turn out. As always... love your videos. ❤

Jewel's dorm room looks fabulous! I love the colors you used. I wish we had had all these pretty accessories and decor items years ago when I was in college.😊 I love how they have the wallpaper for dorm rooms now. I'll have to remember all these great ideas when my nieces get to be college age. I've enjoyed the dorm room videos. I hope Jewel has a wonderful year in college. I miss those days sometimes but just not the studying so much.

The room looks fantastic you have a beautiful eye for design.I too moved my niece in to her dorm today thanks to your tips our move was smooth.we had the room decorated really fast and I give her her first care package a large tin of chocolate chip cookies as we told each other you are the best.

usually you can ask administration at the school to move or remove furniture from the room and they just put it in storage :)
Dorms usually have storage rooms for when there's a need of additional furniture or in case they need to work on the rooms without the furniture being in the way. At least my dorm had that. I guess they don't really expect you to not use the furniture they give you (as most students are broke and don't bring in own furniture), but I imagine you should be able to tell them that you don't want to use it.
Shekinah's World usually what happens is the college allows them to put them in a designated school storage area. Or she had her other roommates/building mates take that furniture and use it in their rooms. However, in many places, removing furniture is absolutely not allowed so I can see the confusion.

You did a fabulous job with that dorm room, you did a total makeover and it is beautiful. I know Jewel and her Mom is so happy with her room, you packed everything in such an organized way. The colors are so bright and cheerful and all of the inspirational messages around the room is wonderful. I love the two desks with the ottomons. The temporary wallpaper is a genius idea. The bathroom and kitchen set up is beautiful and functional as well. Congratulations on a job well done!! Your hard work is not in vain.

I love this...My favorite part of every year of college was moving in and setting up a new room. My bedspread was alway the same but I usually found something new to complement it and make it (/my side of the room) my own.

WOW!!!! So beautiful!!! These dorms are so much nicer than what we had back when I was in college. Yellowing painted cinder block walls, old 1970's built in dressers and desks. And we sure never had a kitchen! This is just amazing, great work!!!

+jllouie I have a bedroom with 2 beds and desks since I have a private room that would normally be a standard (2 girl) room. I put my extra furniture in storage. My apartments are townhouse style and so we have 3 storage options available to us: Our downstairs closet, our outside storage, and the huge storage space in the clubhouse for all residents to use. It just depends on where you're living and what they offer :)
I'm decorating my room EXACTLY like this. This is by far the best form I have ever seen. I am in love.
