We try to keep our mornings quite slow and mindful to ease into the day...and whatever boat build hurdles come our way! Are mornings a special time for you? ✨

Yes!!! Have product! Must include a Captain Tilly T-shirt….😀.(I am a long - time Schnauzer Mom, covering about 50 years of Schnauzers of various colors and Sizes…….believe me you will have more!). And Jack, you could have aprons printed up to in some way represent your love of cooking, but on a narrow boat of course! Possibilities are endless…….❤️. LOVE YOUR vids.
All the things you like doing now to have a meaningful life I experienced in my childhood before an easier life was invented for most of us. Now I am in my dotage I just love my central heating, warm water on tap, light at the touch of a switch, amusement from all over the world available from a little flat thing sitting on my lap. I admire you greatly for building your home daily through your effort, hands and capabilities. You are both so watchable and putting a new light on the toil of former years. I wouldn’t swap but then I now have a beautiful place to live that we modernised ourselves, I hope the same happens to you both…..you will have earned whatever form of luxury you look forward to. It will happen.
I stumbled across your first vid earlier and really enjoyed the whole backlog of your videos. Im really thinking of buying a boat. How much was your new boat if you dont mind me asking? And also did the foam insulation come with it or was it an extra? Massive thumbs up on your journey and all the best for the future. New subscriber 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks so much! The new one was around the 40k mark - its a 54ft and yep includes the insulation (but not the motor because we're going electric). They've gone up quite a bit in the last few years though. The price depends on windows and length - but hopefully that helps as a rough idea! 😊
You may need to purchase Fox Poo Shampoo from pet supplier as I find smell doesn't come out with everyday doggie shampoos - love Tilly tho, she thought it a fun thing to do 🐕
Not sure if this will work for your stove, but we put a large log in and then bank the fire all the way down before we go to bed. In the morning, almost always, we have enough embers left to just add some kindling, another log, open the air and ten minutes later the fire is burning.
It's hit and miss with our little stove for if this works, and how late we stay up! With our esse in the new boat though we're hopeful we'll be able to do this - it's definitely big enough for a large back log 🔥
We are suckers for good bread, can't beat it! Cannot wait for the lighter evenings to come back. It always feels like a long slog up to the clocks changing. Not long now!
Thank you, we were so relieved to have a couple completed 😅 We've just popped some cladding on them (will be in the next week's ep) and it's amazing how much difference they make to making the boat feel more homey! Thanks for watching 🙏
Poor Tilly lol. That part of the video just reminded me and hubby of our late dog Twizzle. Believe me when I say that she was the queen of wearing fox poo. She would roll herself into it and have a lovely long stripe down the side of her neck most times we took her out 😂. It used to drive us mad that she would need a bath after each walk! It was so frustrating but a least she was happy ❤😆
They have a knack for finding it out don't they.... We're quite lucky with Tilly that it's not too frequent a thing! She also hates bath time, maybe that slightly puts her off 😅
Bath is mainly there for when we can moor near a water point. Our winter mooring is 3 boats away from water. We're also looking into a water filtration system from the canal 👍

Do you think the bathtub will be a little too much? I mean, it takes up a lot o valuable space and uses a lot of water.
Nahh... We won't use it all the time, but lovely to have it onboard for that treat when we're next to water points!

We're limiting ourselves to one french press a day at the moment, and it's honestly a highlight of the morning each day!
How big will your water tank be? I ask due to that massive bath you are installing.
Bath is mainly there for when we can moor near a water point. Our winter mooring is 3 boats away from water. We're also looking into a water filtration system from the canal 👍
