Dunno, I was listening on an ifi Zen DAC/headphone amp connected to Sennheiser 560s headphones, and it sounded OK, decent enough separation. I'm not going all "hifi nut superior" here, but it either works, or it doesn't, eh? People's mileage will vary, depending on how important good quality audio is to them. Personally, I don't smoke, don't gamble, don't do illegal drugs. Music, and decent audio is, mostly, my vice. I think the loud alarms add a wee bit to the tension, but maybe could work better if dialled down a couple of notches. :)
Thank you for taking the time to comment. I am going to clean up how I edit the videos for better sound and smoother visuals for those who are enjoying the videos outside of just a demonstration of how to fly the DCS mission.

Thank you for your feedback. I did the latest video this just the book audio. Mission 9: Returns ruclips.net/video/lRe8GAT-kWg/видео.html I started this by making playable missions (with the audio as part of the background of the mission) and sharing them on the DCS forum. The first number of videos where supposed to be a walk through to help people fly the mission however most people are more interested in the audio book with the cinematic so I modified the mission a bit to meet this request. Also check out FIXEDIT or @BobChanel for some great cinematic videos of Red Storm Rising. I hope that between our two channels you can get your fill of my favorite book!

It could be how I was managing (or should I say mismanaging) the external fuel tanks or perhaps I did not have the radar altimeter warning set low enough so it may have been going off.... I am still learning how to better manage this ....
@@flightsims1349 I was impressed by the management of the platform and I can tell you in the " Fog of War" there's so much to concentrate on regardless how many practices runs. I'm truly enjoying the series, I just happened to stumbled upon it. But glad I did. Outstanding job and video.

Don't bother trying to listen to this. The recording includes the highly annoying - and very loud - sound track from the game the recording person is playing and it renders the audio a thoroughly unintelligible mess a lot of the time..

Alas, the various cockpit alarms drowned out the narration in too many places - couldn't tell what was happening.
I will be changing that!
"Trumpeter, Trumpeter, Trumpeter" i am still remembering this from reading it 30sh years ago the first time.
Thanks for this. I’m currently reading the book and came across this vid.
Awesome work.
Perhaps you can lower the volume of the DCS blaring long alarms, klaxons, etc. Otherwise great work as usual. 👍
Noted!
Yes much too loud

Good show however, the aircraft sounds, while realistic we’re distracting from the narrator and actually overpowered him.

Suggestion: Turn down the game audio. It should not override Mr. Prichard's narration.

The DCS Audio is way too loud for a video with narration.

This series would be great without the cockpit so you can hear what's going

narrator a bit too fast, but great job. loved watching it.
Very annoying noise covers the audio sometimes.

It appeared that the aircraft was painted by radar at least once and why the engine warnings? Great 👍

I do not understand the need for the aircraft alarms that interfere with the narration. I want to hear what he is saying not alarms.
master caution light extinguish anyone?
Hmmm yeah...I need to setup a reset button on my sim panel for that.
annoying alarms, lose them
