    Why remove that control arm?

      All car manufacturers insist on servicing the brake caliper guides since they are a moving part. It needs frequent maintenance and affects safety. Maintaining the guides requires the same work as replacing the pads, so these works are done at the same time.

      ​@@flyingbananatree5661If it's a Kia/Hyundai, I can assure you, it's broke. In fact, they didn't go far enough. The entire parking brake assembly on these cars should be stripped and cleaned when replacing the rear pads & discs. Even then you'll be lucky to get another 2 years out of it before it starts binding. The design and build quality is a joke.

    What brand is the brake lubricant?

      We used anti-squeak lubricant from the manufacturer Liqui Moly "Bremsen-Anti-Quietsch-Paste"
