- The main gate to the homestead has fallen into disrepair with chipped paint, and the Black Locust fence has deteriorated. Today's project is to clean up and repaint the gate, then remove the old fence and build a new one using reclaimed rough sawn oak 2x4's and liquid rubber waterproofing.

Hey, Jeremy, it is so good to see you! I sure miss seeing Jaime give her my greetings. Nice job on the gate and fence it look a lot better.
A lot of work, but it looks nice. I agree with Patricia the music reminds me of Charlie Brown. Love the jazz. Love to see your wife join you sometime for a family update. I miss those those earlier homestead Prepper videos. I still send those out in September as September is National Preparedness Month. Hey, there is an idea. Do some more Preparedness videos during the month of September. Can’t be too careful.
I absolutely love the music you chose for the video. Reminds me of Charlie Brown. Yeah I just dated myself. 😂Anyway I enjoy watching your videos please do an update on your container garden.
I will!
New fencing and gate looks clean and really nice. Love the solar gate system too. You do meticulously great work!
How did I miss this video from a few days ago? Looks great.
I really enjoyed that! :) By the way, I have now made the BEST EVER Banana bread recipe multiple times, each time trying small variations... Family loves it! And I don't have to feel bad about throwing out overly ripened bananas anymore!! when I see those dark spots show up, I am reminded I have a great, easy recipe to throw together! THANKS AGAIN!!
YESSSS!!! 😊
How's Jaime doing ?
Great job, Jeremy! It looks fantastic.
Thanks! 😊
We need to replace a lot of fencing and put in an automatic solar opener as well. Good job! We used to love using recycled wood, then we ran out, LOL. Say hi to Jaime for me! ~Cynthia
Good work Jeremy!
I love the irony of the DO NOT SPRAY sign 😆. Overall, good work!
You waste nothing (smart) and I like the black. It looks awesome, nicely done Jeremy 👍. ( Hello Jaime ) Thank you for the video.
Outstanding job, Jeremy! That black looks so sharp. I also love how thrifty you are and were able to do that for practically free. Now that the fence is black and will probably be harder to see at night, have you thought about putting those solar lights on the top of the posts??
It's been awhile. Good to see yall again ✌️
Looks great. I’ve watched yall from the beginning, when you were on the other property, through the building of this one. I’d love to see a day in the life of video!
Jeremy, I can't believe it's been 4 years since you installed that gate! Brother...... does time ever fly. Looks completely 🤘🏻METAL🤘🏻
How are the buckets up on the deck coming along? Looking forward to an update on those!
Got the first tomato blooms. Update at the end of June 👍🏻
Beautiful work...as always!
Thank you! Cheers!
Great job, gate and fencing looks wonderful with the darker color. Good that you could do it yourself, saved you a good amount of money! Blessings!
Grear build, we have a shaggy bark juniper here in N. Az. That is strong and doesn't rot. It makes great fence posts and gate hangers
Do you hear that? Me neither. Peace be upon you my good man
Looks fantastic!! Thanks Jeremy!
I totally agree about the t-post puller, it’s so cheap for what it does for a homesteader!
Looks great
NICE
Looks clean!
I also have the Ghost Gate opener, has worked great. They also have openers that fit on handlebars of my 4-Wheeler and the steer stick on my Zero turn.
Jeremy that looks really nice! 😎
Thanks 😊
Very nice. Thx for doing this, filming it and sharing it with us.
It's amazing what someone can do with leftover material. Rubber paint??? I've got to check this out. Thanks for the video.😅
Looks great!
Looks fantastic!
Great job! Looks fantastic!
Thanks 😊
Nice!
Lookin’ pretty snazzy😉🥰
👍 nice
Nice! Big improvement. I was wondering, do the neighbors who share that gate access help with the cost/maintenance or is it all on you? Just being nosy. Always good to see a video from. you Jeremy :D
You mentioned other properties that use the gate. Do they contribute to the upkeep of the gate? You always seem to be doing all the work.
I was wondering that too. I'm sure it's one of those things where you do something for your neighbors and they'll do something else for you type deal but yeah I'm curious lol
Well it’s actually my property and the gate provides a right of way for ingress and egress to the other lots. But they have contributed equally. My neighbor just put gravel down on the entire road.
Why the sign " Do not spray" above the fence? Whose not allowed to spray?
Utilities like to spray glyphosate on the right of way. It kills the bees and everything else. So they have signed a release to not spray my property.
Aloha 🌺🥰
Dude! There's a HUGE sign hanging overhead that says "DO NOT SPRAY" .. and what do you do? You spray paint the gate! ;-)
💖
I don't know what you paying for that Liquid Rubber, but we use a roofing emulsion on our fenceposts. I am sure it is multiples cheaper.
It was left over from the house build
Time for an IPA
Time lapse too fast for my old eyes! Had to slow down to watch again!!! But nicely done!
😂👍🏻
Why would you paint the gate itself black?
Why not?
Is that wise.....to paint the gate BLACK?
At NIGHT, people, who've never been there before, may not SEE a BLACK gate......and drive into it.
Those people wouldn’t make it to the gate in the first place.
@Guildbrookfarm well you could put a strip of reflective material on one of the middle horizontal bars of the gate so somone doesn't accidentally drive into it at night. 😉
Jeremy, why do you feel it is necessary to pack a side arm in your videos?
I cannot speak for Jeremy. But I (42- female) ( live in rural somewhere) also always have a side arm. For many reasons 1) even though I’m very rural - there is still people out to steel my things. Here for us the sheriff knows it and lets them go ( their family) it’s known they like to do it when people are home- they get a kick out of it. 2) we have wild animals around here- we usually leave them alone as long as the are not killing our stock. I am the one that does farm duties alone- side arm is just protection.
Not speaking for Jeremy but, living in the mountains of North Carolina. Oh, and why not.
Mind your own business jerk!
@@jharper8192Why is he a jerk for asking a question?
We live in the city, unfortunately, and my husband and I will not go outside without protection. The world is crazy these days. You always have to be ready to protect yourself.
