Exactly!! And we're so blessed these days to have all these different formulas of wheels AND a crazy amount of reissue decks to choose from! Who wouldn't go wild!?
Love little Damion's setup!🤘🏼 I don't think it's silly to have too many. I grew up with maybe one setup cause that's all we could afford, that's probably why I have so many now. It's good to be a kid with adult money! 👊🏼
Sick set ups man!! Everyone is loving slappy trucks makes me wanna try them but I love my stage 4 Indys. Love the board for the little dude too!! Omar Hassan Board looks so awesome!!
@ i would argue they are very similar but slappy has a slightly looser feel wider turn and no king pin issues. Just recently made the switch and I love slappy trucks.
Nothing at all wrong with having a quiver of rides! I at one time had 12 setups lol. It's just fun to ride different boards sometimes and look at a different graphic even if the gear is all similar. I'm down to one now, a winkowski, but I'd like to set up a heroin curb crusher and perhaps a life skateboard as well so I still have some madness left in me. Probably always will lol. Have fun bro!
You're absolutely right man! It's nice to be able to look over at a different setup and think this is the mood I'm in today. Kind of like owning a few different guitars 💪😤
What an awesome collection of boards brother rat!! I have the O.G. Lance Mountain in black in great condition hanging on my wall. So if your looking for a smaller egg, I'm currently skating a Krooked Mark Gonzalez egg that is 9.125 wide by 32 long with a 14.5 wheelbase. I've got Indy 159 trucks, 56 mm. X-Formula 99's, and some Bronson raws on it. But no rails or risers. I absolutely love it!! As always I love your vids!! Keep killing it Brother Rat!!🤘🛹🛹🤘
Ive got the exact same knox re issue... love it... love it even more now that i redrilled the wheelbase to 14.75... epic for bowls. 99a double lock bones. Was looking at the max evans although looks very similar to the knox... knox is a tiny bit wider... have you ridden the max in the bowl? Interested to hear your thoughts.
I have six setup currently I think. I’m in a perpetual state of either assembling or disassebling. The goal is always to have two setups. One cruiser and one for actual skating and occassionally that’s what I have setup. Then the urge to experiment extends beyond waiting for the one skate setup to be done and it builds from there. Currently I have 8.125”, 8.25”, 8.5”, 8.625”, 9” and 9.175” setups with varying wheel/truck brands, hardnesses, sizes, heights and shapes. But it’s enjoyable at least 😂. I’m due a disassembling bout soon I think but I think I’ll leave it for when the boards have earned their retirment.
Not a single comment about having too many lol. I have an og Vision Joe Johnson Heiroglyphics with Indys, 59mm Vision Blurs, Cellblock risers pads and rails with the sexbolts. It just sits next to the Winkowski Crystal Cave, 159 Winkowski 8Baller Bronsons, 56mm OJ Keyframes, the 9" Creature Stump, Slayer MOB grip, Indy 159's and 56mm OJ Keyframes and the Hosoi hammerhead deck with clear MOB and photos of my son and I that he put under it. The last one is my favorite.
cool decks! im sad you got rid of your natas kitten though, that vid helped me decide between that and a diff natas reissue, and i still watch it sometimes just bcz i rly enjoy it. i think my fav deck from this vid is probably the knox punk - hes one of my favs, and i have the newest firepit. also, nothings wrong with having too many decks! im a younger street skater and idk why but im kinda obsessed with buying and skating old-school decks (even though i kinda suck at skating them compared to my popsicles lol, i actually ate total shit off of a ramp because i got freaked out and panicked about my foot placement w/ no nose and totally shattered my humerus lmao) but old-school decks are def my flav slam-pieces - i think its all the pretty shapes, and the fact that they all feel so different from one another. ive definitely gone a bit over-board with my collection though, i spent like most of my saving from my old work buying a bunch of different decks so i think i have 9 old-school decks atm. i love them all though, and who needs to pay rent and bills anyway. love your vids :)
@@radoldrat ive actually thought about making vids reviewing my decks/setups but im not sure if id be any good at it. i might one day though, but for now my current old-school and shaped decks are; the powell skull and sword snub nose (thats the one i broke my arm on, i havent actually skated it since lol), the knox firepit, the dressen pup, the dogtown god of death, the natas kitten (i got yellow rails for it like you had in your vid), the vision red og jinx, the welcome dragon, the winkowski thrasher primeval, the scram overkill, the salba tiger hand, the dogtown suicidal possessed to skate (the 9 inch 14.75wb version, i have it in the yellow/black fade/red baphomet colorway which is my fav) and the yow mercedes bellido (it was a drunken impulse-buy bcz i thought it was pretty, but its actually a 34-inch surfskate deck with like no kick at all so i cant actually skate it, but its still nice to just look at lol). and i think thats all of my oldchool and shaped ones (well and the welcome fairytale but thats still basically a popsicle). idk why ive gotten so many bcz all my decks are totally in the way, and its a total pain to have to switch my trucks over all the time bcz i try to use all of them in like a cycle (otherwise i feel like some might feel left out or unloved - which im aware is a totally crazy thing to feel about beat-up peices of wood). anyway, im excited for your future vids! also do you think youll try the 88a dragons when they come out?
@heather-3904 I'm not sure if I would try the 88s actually, I think they might be too soft and it kind of negates the point of the dragon formula to me. I don't really get it. I'd have to see some reviews
@@radoldrat yea i kinda feel the same, i love the 93s (and the x99s rule, i have the "runny bunny" ones just for my super-occasional visits to my skate park and theyre rly great) and if the 88s do still slide well then theyd be a total miracle for the rough-af crusty sidewalks and spots around me, but i have a bad feeling they might not be able to rly pull it off. fingers crossed though!
i need a nose. most of my setups are popsicles 8-8.25", but i usually have one shaped setup too. right now it's a grimple stix cardiel, like a '92 football/egg shape. i like the santa cruz and black label the best. i cut my rails from uhmwpe cutting board slab.
I am glad you did this video. Nobody needs to see this video from me 😂. I skate the same X99 wheels on two of my boards. They are my park boards, standard flight popsicle boards. I ride much bigger wheels in the bowl, 69mm minimum. I do ride Indy on a lot of my OG boards but if the bolt pattern allows for it I ride ACE. I do have two sets of slappy and love them for what I use them for, aka Slappy's. I have to leave my Heroin Swampy Wide Boy at home. If it goes in the car I don't skate my other boards. I absolutely love it, it is so fun. Ok stay Rad you old Rat.
Those are some rad rides my brother! And yeah something about those heroin boards just keep me off everything else! I'm definitely going to get another set of X formula for my egg, I've noticed they slide way better when doing nose slides etc and they don't stick. Stay rad my dude!

That's a great question, I know I should be going for a larger wheelbase but I'm a shorter guy, Short legs etc. I feel really comfortable on anything 14.5 or under. I just have more control that way 🛹🐀

CHECK THE DESCRIPTION FOR THE VIDEOS FEATURING THESE BOARDS!
Your videos inspired me to do several different set ups. There’s no shame in having too many. I enjoy your content very much
I really appreciate that, thank you 🙏
These set ups are super rad. In no way is having a few decks/set ups too much. Who wants to change their trucks and wheels for different terrain.
