I didn’t know what Ben Degros was talking about when he said you have to have a steep board with ace trucks. I had a mellow board with the low ace trucks and I didn’t have any pop because that wheelbase is so short. It makes the tail feel super long.
Great review, I just bought some Slappy Lights a few weeks ago, I had no idea these were about to be released. Bloody truck madness, now I really want to try these lows and probably will... I still wanted another pair in a different size to the lights I just got, now I have a good enough reason to do so. Cheers
I find that the ACE bushings adapt well to your skating after a few sessions. I don't really tighten at all and the hardest up to how I skate by the fifth session. It is definitely squirrelly the first 4 sessions.
love my Slappy lows bought them because of your review of them! looking for a DLX 8.25 to pair them with for a more steeper feel, rocking a mellow creature 8in deck for now and I think the 14in wheelbase paired with a short truck for a quicker pop helped me pop ollies more consistently.
this answers my question about the slappy lows I had, cuz I tried the indy mids and because of the geometry, there was no pop, seems to be the same story for the ace af1 lows. slappy lows is definitely a future purchase!
Both trucks use the same hangers and only the baseplate is lower. Also I can only Aces with the Ace Hard bushings that are 94a top and bottom. Otherwise they're way ass squirrelly.
I saw a pic of the bottom of the low plate, while it is a HEX shape, the cavity looks much too shallow to get a nut in there AND have the plate sit flush on a deck.

Do you know if the Slappy Low Profile can be fitted with an inverted kingpin?

GOOD REVIEW, BUT I WILL ALWAYS STICK WITH THE INDYS, LOL.
Do slappys give you a longer wb than Indy's?
Yeah
Longer than indy, shorter than thunder supposedly.
No theyre the only neutral wheelbase truck so no change all about the deck wheelbase
@@dipsetisnice ace?
56mm wheels on low trucks? But, why?
Haha I haven’t had any real wheel bite yet.
