I think the longest endurance race I ever did was 3.5h, it did have a small mandatory break but it was still difficult. It would've been a lot more fun if there were 24-30 cars on track
That is my grind on the solo races same track using the Audi RS5 dtm car. Its just a joy to drive fast through corners decent straightline speed and a very frugal consumption rate when it comes to fuel
If you think about it, the GT racing versions of those cars through the ages have always made Goliath battles. GT6 Custom online private lobby with those cars at Daytona road course for an hour was a sheer THRILL 🤘🏽😁
Steve, endurance races are a must - I’m fed up of 6 lap races. No races are usually 6 or less laps. But it’s all to fit in with the 20 minute rotation. I would love a race D every week that was 20-50 laps. Very welcome.
Problem is the races have to be designed so that people who are DR C/D can complete them in a 25m window. (1m load and warmup (PS4 owners), 20-25m race, 3m before the session closes, load and requeue 1m.) While iRacing has a schedule that copes with session starts on the hour or hourly races shifted to :05 or :15 after the hour, we still have drivers crashing out of sessions that are now on a 2/3 hour rerun schedule [The championship races]

I'm back from 1 year hiatus. Haven't touched GT7 at all until now. I'm also back watching your videos :) First time ever I see a leaderboard that is not stacked with Peugeots and Mazdas and I'm shocked. I wonder why... 🤔
I really like this new format. This was a great vid and a good battle, expertly narrated. It is nice to see someone I’ve followed for a few years now keep perfecting their craft.
Man, you are fast. I just found your videos and I’m really digging it. I’ve learned so much since watching your channel. The way you present your content is so engaging as well as the respect you give to the other drivers. Amazing!
A few mistakes I commonly see a lot of people make, first is that a 10l/sec refuel it doesn't make mathematical sense to fuel save in most races unless it saves you an entire pit stop. The other mistake was spending too long on hards. Yes the mediums degrade and feel terrible, but horribly worn softer compound is usually still quicker than badly worn harder compound. For example your last complete lap on the mediums was a 19.0 compared to doing 19.8 and 19.9 at the end of the hard stint.
I once asked Digit Gaming why he would fuelsave when he needed to stop for tires anyways. He said, that if you refuel at all the stop is alway 1-2s longer plus the time for the actuel refuelling. Therefore he think if you only need to save a little fuel to not refuel it was faster to fuelsave.
Pleasure racing you once again! 13:30 Had the same reasoning and struggled to find a rhythm beforehand, it was once you passed me that I did I also need to get that DR higher aswell!
I love these kinds of races where strategy plays a big role, as well as consistency. And look at your lap times btw... on Hard tyres is all 2:19s and then pit stop laps and on Medium Tyres is all 2:17s So good!!
18:00 There's a quote from Ryu in SF3rd Strike, that always stuck with me in competitive activities: "Seek an opponent that is your equal. Only then can you improve." Which is also when you have the most fun (unless you're an asshole), when you're fighting someone as good (or bad) as you, not knowing who will win, real tension, pushing each other to be better.
What i really learned to love about your videos is how interesting you can actually present a game like this. Your commentary made me learn alot about racing and racing strategies. Keep this great work up fella! You are doing an amazing job here.
Yanno, I've never been a huge fan of racing sim games because I don't have the skill or patience for them. But watching you play whilst commentating them is such a pleasure. It opens up a new world of strategy and nuance to people who aren't familiar with just how different these types of games are from arcade racing games. Thanks for providing excellent content, best regards!
This video was really good, I enjoyed the mix of voiceover and live commentary from the race. There was one place where you sort of talked over yourself, but on the whole I think this can work really well. Also, amazing racing as always!
Endurance races are tiring, but they are fun if the map is good. I remember back in the day, there was a local event at a game club on GT4 where it was 50 laps of Nurburgring, where you'd play as a team of 2 and switch every few laps, similar to real life endurance, good stuff!
Damn, it's weird seeing people excited for 1hr races when coming from iRacing. I'm happy for the GT community to be experiencing it though, arguably the best format in simracing in my opinion.
I love endurance races. Both on GT Sport, GT7 and my favorite, ACC. In ACC there are options for 4h, 6h and 24h as well. It is insane. Strategy of saving fuel and tires becomes so much more evident than the standard races.
Cracking Race/Video Steve. My opinion : It was frustrating that GT2 league was only 12 laps for the same Nations event. But even so, an endurance daily race with live quali is exactly what is needed
100% THIS! I was looking forward to an hour of GT3 cars around Spa. I had no idea GT2 was shorter, so I tried to stretch my first tire stint to 11 laps only to find myself dead last after stops.
Really well done mate! Great hustle and result! But it would be great indeed if they would add a 4th "Daily" as an endurance and put the weather in a real random rotation!
Endurance races would be fun in general. Even more singleplayer ones with more challenge. But for multiplayer, they do need a good payout to make them worth it
My only wins online in GT7, and in GT sport for that measure, were at endurance races, with my most dominant one being one with Wet to dry conditions. So, yeah, all up for endurance!
Excellent runs Steve, hard charging to the last. My fuel saving skills are not that good, & I find myself in a pickle frequently running low in some races. I'm all for more endurance races; wish PD would mirror actual real world events (Nürburgring recently, which was a FANTASTIC race!). All the 12 & 24 hour taces would be epic & throw some goodies to the top ten guys while they're at it!
Yes, the second race was exciting in its own right. but it made for a super video. Proper intrigue from start to finish, great strategy, absolutely gripping. I know it can't always be like this but damn this was a great piece of work!
An endurance race in GT7 is a sprint race in iRacing… im glad they are giving console players the chance to experience longer races in VR though… it’s awesome

Great video, and I would appreciate weekly Endurance race(s) as well. I finished 5th in the B GT2 league, and it was satisfying. Looking forward to another video. Thanks
In the single player too. There’s ONE “24hr” race for 1 million credits at Spa. I’ve done it so many times now I’m bored shitless because it’s pretty much the only race worth doing 🤷♂️

These races deserve dynamic weather and full day cycle for amazing imersion. Probably not the most competitive but sure would be most fun. Also would be cool to have random races with random car and track.
They should bring a daily race D and E. E for endurance and D just for more races.
That’s a good idea
D for Dirt-Races maybe?

Yeah. I don't play gt7, but LFM's 25 minute races seem like the bare minimum to enjoy a race. 25 minutes usually gives us 12 or more laps.
I'd love endurance races but at a certain point, there may be an issue with players lagging out over time
