Really amazing video! You echo many of the same sentiments I share being a New England boy. The bridging of the seasons is what keeps me here and being able to enjoy such a variety of activities and terrain. Look forward to upcoming ski videos! I've already got 4 days under my belt and looking forward to more.
Thank you and Yes! The shoulder seasons are a season in themselves. Nice! We ski'd yesterday and today in the woods behind my mom's property in Vermont and got one backcountry day last week. I hope the cold sticks around for a while so we can all keep enjoying it.
This made me feel so happy in my heart. Mid way through I realized I had been smiling uncontrollably. Pure escapism from the crazy world we live in. What a gift to the world this was. You out did yourself this time and I love the long form video. Felt like I was watching an actual TV show. So patient and calm in the pacing. Netflix needs to give you guys a reality show. Just wow! As Caleb would say. Nikki always makes me laugh out loud.
It's so good to hear from you and everyone after our break from Buddy passing away. It reminds me how much I value everyone on here in our community. Always nice to hear your kind words.
Thanks Brian! That's an editing thing I've been wanting to make for a while but didn't have the right song for it until this video. I'm glad you liked it. Happy holidays!
That's really the main reason I enjoy making them. I love thevefiting process and the creative flow of it andvthen hitting that upload button in hopes that maybe it adds a bit of positivity to someone's day. I had a lot of plans for autumn filming thus year but when our dog passed away it put everything on the back burner. Next year we'll capture as much autumn as possible for you and everyone that watches. Are you a winter enthusiast, we have plenty of that stuff coming soon. I do have one more late late autumn video I want to finish soon but admittedly I'm behind seasonally with it since everyone wants winter videos currently. I really appreciate you taking the time to watch. Hope all is well with you. Happy holidays
That's so nice to hear our videos described in such a way and there's no bigger compliment than knowing you watched a 30minute video in its entirety. I know we all have other things going on in life so carving out a half hour of your day to include our video is very humbling and I'm so appreciative of that.
I recognized your screen name right away before I opened your message and realized haven't heard from you in a bit. Holy cow! How've you been? Glad your back
Thank you! I'm starting to get back to frequent uploads. I appreciate that you took the time to watch a 30 minute video, that means a lot. Great to hear from you!
Thank you, I'm so glad it made you want to go out in nature. That's the ultimate compliment. Happy holidays to you both. Great to hear from you again btw. Hope all is well.
@rodneyking6910 oh wow. I'm humbled by such a statement. The feeling is mutual to you and everyone on here that subscribes and shares our videos. I love this little community of like minded people.
I'm really glad to hear that Joe. These more storybased videos are what I truly enjoy creating and sharing with you. That's really helpful feedback and I appreciate that you took 30 minutes of your day to watch. That means more than you may know.
Thank you! It really is an incredible little corner of the country. I'm grateful everyday to call it home. Obviously you feel that new England enchantment too and I love knowing others feel the same way.
Wow thank you! So glad you liked it. Took some time off after we lost Buddy but the motivation to make videos is back again. Very grateful to have so many patient subscribers like you and to be able to connect with. Hope all is well with you.
Thank you, that's very kind of you to say. It was very disorienting for sure but we're nothing but grateful to have 18 years of beautiful memories with him. Time is always the best medicine for loss.
Welcome back thought you guys had gone off cruising 😮, the best 30 mins I’ve spent in a long time, random simplicity, great you bounced back unexpectedly to disrupt the flow in a real good inspiring way…as you say moments like these don’t last forever…take them while you can…
There it is! I always look forward to hearing your well crafted comments! It's so good to hear from you and been too long. Much needed brake though after losing Buddy. Took a while to get our rythm back but feeling grateful and inspired again. Thanks for be patient with us and still watching. Man, I really missed all the interactions on here.
@@ThatMountainMoment Firstly so sorry to hear about your loss of Buddy. It’s good to take a step back and focus on what’s more important in life. RUclips is a hungry beast and can survive for a while, good things are worth waiting for when your videos land. When I see your video landscape it reminds me of Scotland 🏴 . Have a great week.
@WilliamMcCannMurphy Thanks William, it's funny because when I watch shows or see pics of Scotland I always say to Nikki that it feels like here. Our mountains are very similar looking for sure. Yeah RUclips is a hungry beast for sure. Taking that time off really decreases the views for a while, the almighty algorithm doesn't like that and stops pushing the videos but it's all good, as long as people like yourself enjoy them and I get to be creative, that's all that matters to me. How's your winter been in Scotland so far?
@@ThatMountainMoment Hi the RUclips algorithm is a bit of a dragon, it toasts you when you’re doing well and roasts you when you go AWOL. Scotland has a dramatic landscape, it’s changed since I was a wee lad with seasons less prominent due to climate change, winters are not as cold and summers are warming up, with more rain. I work in data and AI and try not to use much of social media, preferring to be in the real world rather than virtual. I cycle a lot, MTB, road and gravel with gravel being the real deal, away from the mad rush of vehicles. I lived in the US but didn’t get to Vermont, or Washington state, I lived in Kansas, spent time west & east coast. I live just outside of London now, but heading to Scotland next week with my bikes to see family. Thanks a bunch for your comments as we all have busy lives.
This video is awesome - thanks for sharing it. The NE weather (especially October) was wonderful this year. Your statement at 10:19 sums it up perfectly for sure. I rode your Perch Pond route on one of those glorious October days. I noticed in this video that the creepy red house from a previous video is still standing !
Ha ha yes the creepy house seems to stand the test of time. A testament to old construction I suppose. Or maybe the ghosts are taking better care of it than we realize ha ha. It's such a nice route especially on those glorious October days. Im glad you got out to ride it. Thank you for such a nice comment.
Parts of those leaf-covered mountain bike trails were very well camouflaged. I can imagine myself 'losing the track', especially at higher speeds. Fun fact: Last week I noticed volunteers (here in the Netherlands) using electric leaf blowers on the mountain bike trails. At first I thought it was silly to use these things in the middle of the woods, but later on I thought it probably prevents a lot of crashes. And with NL being so densely populated, and mountain biking very popular, the tracks get lots of usage so I guess it pays off. What was going on with the brakes? Was it just difficulty braking with wet leaves on the ground?
They use the electric blowers here too. It really is a great idea but we rode the day the leaves started falling before the trail crew got out there. My brakes ended up having an air bubble in the lever and I needed to bleed them. Made it interesting for sure ha ha. Bike culture in the Netherlands looks so awesome! Actually life in the Netherlands as a whole looks awesome. Really want to visit there. Hope you had a great week.
Thanks for taking us along on these most vibrant days of autumn. I especially enjoyed the downhill trail sections. You two have some skillzzz!!! And, what's with riding in sandals? Didn't your Dad tell you that you'd lose a toe?!?!?! 😂 Great vid!
Oh ha ha, I changed into sandals after that mtb ride at the parking lot but I do sometimes ride my gravel bike in sandals if it's a chill kinda day. I'd never mtb in sandals though, that's just asking for trouble ha ha. Did you get outside and enjoy some time in nature thus week?
@ThatMountainMoment i can never ride a bicycle in sandals... EVER! 🤣😂 I'm still convinced I'll lose a toe! The old man cursed me! 😅 And, as a matter fact, I did get outside. I tried out some DIY studded tires for winter riding. Video is on my channel if anyone is interested.
Yeah the little moped style ebikes are a fun way to zip around our town when you just feel like chillin and visiting little spots. We used to have a gas moped but the bikes are more fun and are allowed in more places than gas motors. It was one of my favorite intros to make and hopefully the retro vibe came through without being too overpowering. I love making intros and videos that are in rythym with the music(maybe growing up in the music video era is why ha ha). Hunting for the right songs are one of my favorite processes so I'm glad you liked the vibe. How's your winter been so far?
Great. Well bikes are tucked away so back to foot power here. That in between where leaves and a thin layer of ice are risk but not enough for spikes. Picking up a new pup this weekend too. PS put some run flat in those tires if you haven’t yet.
It took many drafts to get it where I was happy with it ha ha. I'll get more efficient at this style as I make more of them. Hands down my favorite one to create. Hope everyone enjoys it and shares with others.
That would be awesome. Let's make sure we do that next season. Haven't done any riding in Henniker but that area is high on the list for next year. Lots of great routed down there by the looks of it.
This should have millions of views! Best content on RUclips. Feels so genuine.
Thank you!
