- In this video I will be comparing vintage vs new Fender clean tones and Fender reverbs by playing through the Fender Champion 20, Fender Champion 40 , and a 1971 Fender Deluxe Reverb. After hearing the comparisons, you will be able to decide if the newer Fender amps can even come close to the gorgeous sounds of a vintage Fender amp.

Fender Champion 20: Gain: 1, Volume: 6, Voice: Blackface (Green indicator light), Treble: 6, Bass: 5, FX Level: 3, FX Select: Reverb+Ch (Yellow indicator light).

The Fender Champion 20 is a 20 watt amp (with an 8” speaker) and is perfect for practicing at your home. It sounds great at low volumes and it has a headphone jack!
The different sounds (voices) are phenomenal, ranging from Tweed, Blackface, British and Metal. In addition, the gain and volume knobs can be dialed in to explore each voice.
The treble and bass knobs let you color the sound, while the FX options are fantastic for such an affordable amp. These include reverb+chorus, chorus, flange, delay+reverb, wah, vibrato, and tremolo. A tap button is also included to customize the speed of your vibrato or tremolo.
To give you peace of mind, this amp includes Fender's 2-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY.
The Fender Champion 40 is a 2-channel, 40 watt amp with a 12” speaker. I think this amp might be one of the best guitar amps under $200. The different sounds (voices) are phenomenal, ranging from Tweed, Blackface, British and Metal. In addition, the gain and volume knobs can be dialed in to explore each voice.
The treble and bass knobs let you EQ the sound, while the FX options are fantastic for such an affordable amp. These include reverb+chorus, chorus, flange, delay+reverb, wah, vibrato, and tremolo. A tap button is also included to customize the speed of your vibrato or tremolo.

Awesome video, loved how the Champion 20 sounded, it was my favourite sound of the three, happy to own one.
Thanks for this..I was wondering myself how they would stand side by side with a vintage Fender amp and they held their own..I still love my Champion20 and play it regularly. Have a great day and stay safe!

Question of the Day: What else would you like to know about these amps?
How to get a good sound for The Beatles or oasis
Would the 12 inch speaker in the 40 help it to sound better than my fender tube amp with a 10 inch? It doesnt have enough low end for me.
The champ 20 does a great job. It gets really close. The one amp it just can’t replicate is a twin reverb. It tries…but nothing sounds like a real twin reverb for clean sound 👍🏻
Thank you again for your help and videos.

I have a Tonemaster Deluxe Reverb & Fender 20. I was surprised at how well the 20 compares, you can tell the difference but the 20 definately isnt shamed.
What channel should I use for a Jimi Hendrix tone ,voodoo child specifically on the 20 🧐
Let me see what I can do! Thank you for watching and commenting!
Yes please!! I’ve asked my parents for the champion 100 for my birthday or Christmas and I’d love to get a good Hendrix style tone!
The reason you couldn’t tell... was because he was using an Ibanez guitar.
its not with a fender guitar though!!!!!
please review of the chorus in fender champion 20
Which is best amp fender or marshal?
Marshall has a very distinct sound...if you like it, it is hard to imitate. Which Marshall are you looking at? Thank you for watching and commenting!
is it ok to shut down the amplifier from power socket or i must shut it down from the amp? would be more convenient if i close it from power socket but im scared ill damage it
I am not sure. I would hate for you to damage your amp. Thank you for watching and commenting!
I wanna see the Monoprice/harley benton $200 tube as a head w/ the Champ!!!
Was your mic right up on the amp?
Yes, almost touching the cloth. Thank you for watching and commenting!
