KD has been blessed with superstar teammates his whole career. Played with 2 former mvps in their prime with okc harden and westbrook, played with the already stacked 73 win warriors. Played with 2 all stars in Brooklyn, and joined a championship contender team with all stars in phoenix.
He never had to be struggle or carry a team throughout his whole career like early Lebron, dame, Iverson, or KG did. Yet a lot of people put him in the top 15 or top 10 of all time. Crazy

Came back to try to help the dubs against the raptors before he was fully healed up and it basically cost him his prime. Damn near single-handedly led the nets over the eventual champions in 2021. Regardless of his playoff performances he’s still an amazing player, but the NBA is currently so saturated with talent that even being a 25-30 point scorer isn’t enough a lot of times. With players like Jokic, Embiid, Giannis, Luka, Dame, SGA, Steph, Jimmy Buckets, Jalen Brunson, Booker, etc there’s definitely a lot of competition for those top 10 spots. Why does KD always and I mean ALWAYS get a pass? I’ve never seen a single player in any sport let everyone down time and time again only to be propped to the top of the league because his game is “pretty to watch” the dude is a great scorer don’t get me wrong but he doesn’t bring anything else to the table, and his efficiency has plummeted in the playoffs the past 4 seasons or so. He’s also a notorious playoff choker, there are a good amount of players who can score the same amount of points on either better or the same efficiency and can play make or rebound or play defense. If KD is on your team, and you don’t have a perfect super team, he is a massive liability.

That said i think KD can be the best player on a championship team. I think in another universe the Nets could have won it all. Suns lack depth and reps, but these are fixable problems; I expect them to be better next year and the year after.
