Glad you enjoyed my first day of this hike, it was a lot of fun. Your channel looks great, very relaxing. I’m now a sub and look forward to relaxing to your videos 😊
Nice one Ryan. A coastal path to touch the parts other trails cannot. It looks fairly flat does the isle but you showed us there are enough steep climbs to keep you alert. Great views though. I could see the night move on in. I maybe would have dossed in a shelter in the town. I have been known to use toilets and building sites. Anything! Well, good going and good timing at the end of the day. Enjoyed that. Mark
Overall it’s pretty flat but like you said there were a few steep climbs to wake me up. The views were amazing especially when the sun came out. I was very tempted to find somewhere in town to pitch but I was happy to push on a bit as at that point I had in the back of my mind to complete the coast path in 3 days. I like hiking slow on long hikes but I also like the challenge of big mileage. That’s awesome that you’ve used building sites to spend the night I’m not sure if I’m that brave. I’m glad you enjoyed 😊 take care.
@@RyansNextAdventure Food to hear of the short and long mileage. At least you know you've got in your legs to do the latter if you need to. Confidence is a fine thing.
Hi Ryan, great to see the video, it brought back some good memories and it was a pleasure to meet you on the route; I also enjoyed our conversation. Yours was a long day! I found a nice wild pitch just off the path in the trees above Whitecliff Bay - and yes it was a wet night! I completed the coast path which I enjoyed, especially the variety of scenery and a swim at Freshwater Bay. I look forward to seeing your videos of the rest of the route. Go well. David
Hi David good to hear from you. It was a long day but very enjoyable. I also went for a swim near Freshwater Bay (coming in day 2 😊). Congratulations on completing the coast path and I’m glad you enjoyed it. Take care and happy hiking for the future. Maybe our paths will cross again one day. Thanks for watching.
@@RyansNextAdventure I'll keep my eyes open for you on future walk, I wish you well on this new phase of your life and enjoy the hiking. I look forward to seeing the rest of the videos of the IOW Coast Path. Take care.
Great video. Planning to solo wild camp around the beginning of May. Starting at RYDE, midday start on a Wednesday, finish midday Saturday morning..... (Hopefully) Not sure which way yet 🥹 looking for some locations to wild camp if anyone has any.
That’s great, the Isle of Wight coast path is amazing. There’s a couple of bits that are inland but overall it’s great coastal hiking. If you start from Ryde I would recommend hiking counter clockwise and head towards Cowes first. The path between Ryde and Cowes is mostly inland along a main road for about 8 miles, so it’s nice to get this part done first, as it isn’t a great finish. Not sure on camp spots, I normally just hike and see where I end up. I normally start looking for a spot to camp about an hour before sunset and hope for the best 😊 I spent a night on the cliffs near the Needles which was amazing. good luck on your hike, I’m always happy to help 👍🏼
@@TheSpiderwebber I’m definitely planning to do it again the other way. I saw there are some trails inland aswell so I may plan a route including all the trails on the island.
The weather was definitely a battle on this hike, but what ever weather I just really love hiking and being out in nature. Colorado looks incredible, I would love to visit one day. Thanks for watching 👍🏼

Did you see any red squirrels?
I was keeping my eye out as I know there are lots of red squirrels on the Isle of Wight, but unfortunately I didn’t see any this time.

Did you happen to see any signs of All Colours Sam the Sandown Clown on you travels? 🤡👍
No sightings of the clown 🤡 I didn’t know about it until after the hike. I’m glad because a clown/ghost/alien sounds terrifying 😅
